although ordering tickets from ticketron was fouled up, upon arrival, the folks at the ticket kiosk sorted me out, enabling me and my two friends to climb aboard with a light heart. dress warmly, and enjoy the amazing views and the torrent of information about what you're seeing--not just the buildings but some history, too! you get to go up and down almost twice, so if you missed something the first time, you get another chance at it. if you're interested in architecture, don't miss this!

I enjoy every moment of the tour despite it being cold. They had a bar and warming station below deck. I saw buildings I had never seen before.

There are several options for the river tours - this is by far the best. It is a bit more expensive but well worth it.

I don’t usually like bot tours but this one stands out from your average boat tour. A great way to learn about Chicago’s history and ever evolving landscape. While I’m sure to forget 99% of the architectural facts shared during the 90mins, I will definitely remember the unparalleled views of the Chicago skyline from the unique perspective of Chicago river.

I really enjoyed this tour. My sister and I took a 4 o’clock tour on a Friday. I can imagine the evening and nighttime ones would be very lovely as well. So many interesting buildings and so much to learn about the city. The boat was very nice as were the amenities on board. Worth every single penny.

The docent leader speaks non stop without script about so many buildings along the Chicago River. The detail covered in the tour is amazing and you leave the boat enthralled with the history of Chicago and the influence of architecture on the development of the city.

Touring Chicago from the river was such a fun and informative way for us to see the city, it’s incredible architecture and learn it’s history. The volunteer docent, Joanie, had a wealth of knowledge to share during the 90 minute cruise. Even our 7 and 9 year old children enjoyed it! Thank you for a fantastic experience!

If you have been to Chicago several times, you will learn something new on this tour! It’s more then just an architecture tour, it’s like a personalized tour of the city’s growth with some a lot in interesting architecture added in. Also some pretty amazing views you can’t get from land! Would 100% recommend! Everyone can have fun (but dress warm…it is the Windy City)..

Took the tour the first day we were in Chicago. Perfect way to start our week long vacation. The weather wasn’t great - a light rain fell most of the time we were on the boat - but we had rain ponchos and didn’t get too wet. Views from the river were spectacular and the Docent provided excellent information and expert commentary on the history and architecture of Chicago. Be sure to visit the Chicago Architecture Center after the tour. Your tour ticket is good for a discount on admission and the exhibits are well worth the time and cost. This is the best river boat tour in Chicago. Don’t miss it!

I learned so many details about the history of the Chicago River and the amazing buildings. The tour presenter spoke non-stop as there is an interesting story behind each and every building. Overall, it was an an excellent tour.

I am so glad I did this cruise! Our docent was very knowledgeable and funny, I learned about architectural styles and the uniqueness of Chicago’s buildings. As a first-time visitor to the city, this was a great way to get an overview of what makes this city special! Pro tip, it’s lovely to do the tour at night; they take you out by Navy Pier and you get a great view of the skyline from the lake.
