Love this! True Chicago experience! Always very professional, fun, interesting architectural guide.
Enjoyed the museum first for a little context before our beautiful boatride. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable and informative but entertaining as well. We loved it and would even do it again!
This was my second Architecture Foundation Cruise, but the first for my husband. We loved it, especially our guide, who clearly loved Chicago and the buildings.
The Docent was fabulous. The cruise was on September 26th the weather was perfect. The crew was very professional. The true stand our was the docent. I would highly recommend this cruise to everyone
We had wonderful weather and the boat was great with adequate room. Drinks and snacks available. Docent was great and extremely knowledgeable and engaging. Learned a lot that helped us appreciate Chicago. Recommend this event for everyone.
Excellent tour on the Chicago river! Love learning the history from the tour guide and seeing the history of the architecture of the City. Both my husband and I loved it!
Linda was beyond knowledgeable about the city. She is proud to be part of Chicago and enjoys sharing the history associated with the buildings that line the river. Very engaging and enthusiastic. I took the 10a tour which I believe helped with lighting for photography. Reflections of buildings from one side of the river are visible in glass buildings on the other side. There isn't a bad seat on the boat as the top level is all open air and open seating. A definite "must" if you enjoy photography, history or architecture. I never realized that the Willis Tower (aka Sears Tower) is comprised of 9 individual towers of varying heights created in order to provide support from the wind.
This was my 4th tour and I have loved it every time. I learn new things about the river and the architecture each and every time. The guides are very informed and do a great job of giving you dates and descriptions of the different architectural styles. The river’s surroundings are ever changing and it’s fun to see how it changes.
It was a perfect tour and information was fascinating. The volunteers are wonderful and you can tell they have a passion for the architecture of this city. Clean boat and drinks!
Marvelous history of the Chicago River when Chicago became the commercial center of Illinois and the architecture that followed. From Du Sable to the Trump Tower Our docent was knowledgeable and entertaining.
Great away to spend a sunny afternoon. Especially good for first time visitors
This is a very informative tour. I'm a regular Chicago visitor, but had always been curious about some of the buildings I regularly see. The tour is less than a couple of hours, but packs a lot of information and stories about the buildings into that time. I highly recommend it.
the tour was great! The tickets were easy to get online, the departure location was easy to find along the Riverwalk, the boat was clean, & the docent easy to understand and very entertaining. A must do activity when visiting Chicago.
Very knowledgable docent. 1.5 hours in all seemed to fly by.
I've loved every Chicago River cruise I've taken, but the Chicago Architectural Foundation's tour with its incredibly informative and interesting tour guide is the best in my opinion. Even my skeptical guest ended up loving it.
Fabulous tour, chock full of interesting info about the buildings along the Chicago River. Lisa, our volunteer guide, was terrific.
Amazing tour. Be sure to go on one if you visit Chicago!
We did the tour on our first morning and thoroughly enjoyed it. There were no gimmicks. This is exactly as we wanted and more. Chicago is great and the river cruise is truly a must-do. We took the Chicago Architectural cruise as we were most confident that it would be at least reasonably good. There are loads of other river tours that are also likely good, but we can attest to the quality of this tour.
Highly recommend this tour. The boat is comfortable, the crew friendly and the docent incredibly knowledgeable. Great way to see the city and enjoy a boat ride at same time!
We always take friends who are visiting Chicago for the first time on an architectural river cruise. This was our first time on this particular boat. The docent was inexperienced but enthusiastic so I think our friends enjoyed the experience.
