A great tour with an excellent guide (Bob) who certainly was knowledgeable about the architecture in Chicago - history of buildings, architects and specific details of buildings. Only improvement would be more context of how buildings fitted in with Chicago as a city and it’s development
A comfortable way to learn about Chicago history & architecture - extremely knowledgeable docent - very enjoyable.
This tour was amazing. By far the best way to see the Chicago Skyline! The tour guide was truly someone who had a passion for the city of Chicago. It will always remain a memorable event for me. If you visit Chicago, it is a must that you take this tour.
We really enjoyed the architecture river tour. So much interesting information that we found ourselves noticing architecture for the rest of our Chicago visit. Sydney (docent on our tour) was great - so thorough and knowledgeable. We would do the tour again any time. And it didn't hurt that the weather was perfect.
Our guide Pat was great, very friendly and informative. All the times I’ve been to Chicago I’d never done a boat tour. So glad I finally did and went on the best one.
This was very informative and the docent was awsome. I would like to see them add better speakers inside, it was starting to sprinkle and we had to take elderly relatives inside and you could not hear the lecture
Our docent Bill, from the Chicago Architecture Foundation, filled the cruise with as much information as he could fit in the 1 1/2 hour tour. It was a great way to see Chicago.
We had a wonderful time on the Chicago Architectural Cruise sponsored by the Architectural Foundation. The docent volunteer gave us so much information as we cruised. We highly recommend this cruise for anyone visiting Chicago.
Wonderful narration by a Chicago history docent. Clean boat and smooth ride.
Beautiful slow and informative cruise on the river with Chicago history woven in
The evening boat tour is magical and Bob the guide was AMAZING, funny and full of awesome information. Highly recommend!!!
Had a perfect weather day June 2 for this lovely boat ride aboard the First Lady. It's an ideal way to see Chicago's beautiful buildings front and center from the river and hear some enticing history as well. .Turned out to be one of the favorite things I did while in town visiting my childhood bestie who has been a proud Chicagoan for many years. Highly recommended!
Knowledgeable, funny, afable volunteer “guide” Would recommend to family & friends
So much architectural knowledge to absorb, and so much fun and education squeezed into an hour and a half on a beautiful Chicago day in June.
The guides from the CAC are really knowledgeable. It was fascinating to learn about the different building styles and how they reflected their time in history as well as practical, engineering issues. Best river cruise I’ve ever been on.
Alice was a very knowledgeable guide. She gave us a lot of insightful information about the buildings and the landscape of the city. This was one of our favorite activities during our stay in Chicago! Highly recommend.
I was only in Chicago for a couple of days but had been told this was a must-do experience, and so it proved! Our guide, Emily, was fantastic and I learned so much about the history and landscape of the city. Plus, the views were spectacular. If you are wondering how to spend your time in Chicago, definitely do this tour!
It was so great to have an architectural expert lead the tour. We learned quite a bit and had a great time.
This is the best way to see Chicago. Our docent Becky had a passion for architecture and was very knowledgeable. Very good narrative
