REO always puts on a great show.! What an amazing time!
REO put on a great show and had everyone standing and enjoying the music with song selection they played. Chicago came on stage and in 3 songs had everyone sitting in their seats. I have never left a concert early after that song selection start I left after 30 minutes. I have seen Chicago many times in past but this group playing now need to hang it up.
Reo was great but Chicago was so boring we left 15 minutes after they took the stage. I would not recommend Chicago at all.
Two rock band legends together on one night for a great price at a good venue!!!!
Chicago was great. REO Speedwagon not so great.Their voices were not as strong as they used to be.
I first saw Chicago (then called C.T.A.) at the Fillmore East with the Mothers of Invention in February 1969. They were outstanding. I have since seen them dozens of times over the last 40+ years. The problem is that there are only 3 original members left (Robert Lamm, Jimmy Pankow and Lee Loughnane). Unfortunately, as they replace departing members, while the music sounds similar, the voices do not sound like early Chicago. When Bill Campion left and was replaced by Lou Pardini, this marked the beginning of the end for Chicago. Pardini is a fine musician but his voice cannot replace previous Chicago members. Last year, bass player Jason Scheff left and this year drummer Tris Imboden left. These are people that were with the band for over 30 years. The sound is not the same and they basically sound like a bad Chicago tribute band. It's time to pack it in guys. I will never go to a "Chicago" concert again.
Not sure how to explain the disaster that was Chicago playing the most of the Chicago II album as their first set -- who ever thought this was a good idea?? I am a big time Chicago fan for 40 years and this was a mess -- no one in the audience really cared, and the band looked like they were doing it just for their own pleasure and ego fix. New guys don't really fit in -- we left before it was over. I have seen them on tour the past 4 or 5 summers and really thought they still brought it and entertained far above the ticket price. Not this time! This is probably the end of my Chicago ticket-buying days. One note about REO Speedwagon -- someone should have monitored the sound a little more closely -- hurt my ears because it was so so loud. Distorted and uncomfortable. The biggest concert disappointment I've had in a long time! And RIVERBEND -- need to clean it up and modernize a little bit! Competition in Ohio and regionally is much better!
REO opened with lots of energy and seemed genuinely happy to be on stage! They played all their hits and it was like going to back in time! Chicago opened with several new songs that were completely unfamiliar with anyone in my group. I know some type of announcement was made before they came on stage, but it was not very clear what was meant by the annoucement. Once they got these new songs "out of the way' they played their hits that we all remembered. Unfortunately, there wasn't time for more hits because of the opening songs . I noticed several people left before they got to the hits.
REO started off the night, and kicked it in the ass...great show! Chicago followed up the night, and played songs from their second album. They are still one of the best bands you’ll see because of all the songs and hits they have. Great performance, they don’t disappoint....
A majority of the fans came to hear the songs they heard played on the radio, the songs they grew up with. For the group to play Chicago II in it’s entirety, which out of the 23 tracks only included 3 or 4 songs that made the radio left most of the fans confused. Not sure of what they were seeing (video boards) and hearing. Loved the songs that followed.
Thank you for the run down memory lane with this show.
The facility was great food was good and the staff was very good at maintaining proper seating areas and the sound was good
I was disappointed I wanted to watch both bands and tickets werent cheap. And although REO Speedwagon was GREAT!!!! Can’t say the same for Chicago. They concentrated on their new CD. ALOT of people left when Chicago was playing including myself!
Great show. REO is a awesome band live.they never disappoint.
Best I've heard Chicago in years. Weather and venue were phenomenal Two things that did not sit well. (1) REO Speedwagon did not play long enough. Instead of having an opening act that no-one cares about, start the concert 15 minutes later and have REO play for a half hour longer. . (2) Chicago played for a little over an hour and then took a 20 minute break. A lot of people just left . Play the whole set instead of taking a break. Will go see both bands again. Thought REO was terrific..
REO was awesome!! Chicago was boring for the first half... needed to play more recognized songs in the beginning ( integrate them in with the obscure ones)
Chicago decided to play their second album rather than playing all their hits. There were people who left as we waited for Chicago to play their hits. Eventually they played the majority of their hits but playing the album precluded them from playing all the hits. REO Speedwagon played immediately before and was loved because they played their hits.
REO rocked the house but we should’ve left when they were done. Chicago played unknown music for nearly an hour. Told us the “radio hits” would be coming soon. By the time they did the audience was comotose and pissed off. Very few people standing let alone rocking to the hits. This is the fourth and last time I will attend a Chicago concert. Incredibly disappointed.
First meet & greet / VIP show. Bands & venue is great. Seats... front row center stage. Best ever
Awesome show! Bands played to the audience and rocked it,
