Can you imagine the routine 1970's Cheech and Chong would have made of current America, what with marijuana decriminalized in a dozen states and legal for adults in a couple? The fact is, the inspired combination of East L.A.'s Richard "Cheech" Marin and Canadian Tommy Chong has always been ahead of its time, above and beyond their views on cannabis. Their legendary records-- not to mention movies like Up in Smoke and 2012's Cheech & Chong's Animated Movie-- helped pave the way to the absurdist slice of life comedy of everyone from Seth Rogen to Aziz Anasri.
The duo broke up bitterly during the mid '80's and took different paths, with Marin finding success as an actor in movies like Tin Cup and on TV's Nash Bridges, and Chong solidifying his place as both a comedic actor on "That 70's Shows" and as a marijuana activist. When they joined forces in 2008 and began touring againÑ Cheech had gone through a divorce, and Chong had just gotten out of prisonÑtheir concerts teemed with unbridled joy of two lovers reunited, and there was an immediate sense that the two were going to stick. At this point, Cheech & Chong have found their rhythm together, and ticket holders can expect both throwbacks to the pair's colorful past and surprises that show them to be as ready to push the cultural envelope now as they were in the 1970's.
They need to take politics out of their monologs. The entire place told them to change the subject. They did some old skits from past movies but other than that it was just OK. Tommy's wife needs to leave the act she was horrible. There were more empty seats than attendees.
I saw Cheech and Chong in PA last year and when I saw they were coming to AC NJ the same weekend I would be staying there for another show I jumped on purchasing tickets! They are great and put on a great show!!
Cheech and Chong haven’t lost a thing! Their show was so funny and entertaining! And Shelby Chong is delightful. Thanks for a great night!
One of my worst comedy experiences. Shelby Chong adds no value whatsoever. Cheech is consistently good.
I saw Chechen & Chong several years ago at the Warner Theater and assumed this world be very similar. But instead I was pleasantly surprised with all new material. Great show. Hope they come around again.
First it is a great venue. Always a nice visit to MGM Grand at National Harbor. The theater is small enough to offer up a great view almost anywhere that you sit. Great food to enjoy before or after and always some gambling to be had if that is your choice.
Laughed our butts off. It was great. Just cause the guys are older don’t let that stop you from going. They are just as great as ever. If your hung up on being politically correct don’t go. Would get tickets again in a heart beat. Love Cheech and Chong 😁
Great choreographed show......wonderful variety of work.....fun memories.
The venue was absolutely beautiful. Tickets and seat were great and reasonably priced. Show was great. We have no complaints.
The wife was terrible. She came off as a angry political women that was not funny. Dump her!!! Cheech and Chong don't need help with the act.
First time was great. This time several years later disappointing will not go again. Would have thought they would have change some of the show. Shelby looks awesome and I hope to look as good as her at that age she she is hot!
Absolutely hilarious!! They performed some of the best skits from their movies, played some songs and even danced a bit. My stomach hurt afterwards from laughing so hard!! See this show if you get a chance!!!
cheech and chong show is funny but very slow moving and does not do very many comedy routines some bits are funny but its a very short show and does mostly only 2 comedy routines both of which you have probably seen in one of their movies and these are done without props so very limited the bit so you will not get a great value for your money here very funny men but watch the movies they are great this show is not
the show itself was awesome but i Didn't like how they had the chairs arranged,they were so close together that i was actually stepping on people's feet trying to get to my seat.Also it was hot in that ballroom I don't think they had the AC on.
Cheech & Chong were excellent, hilarious and still one of the best comedy duos (+1 Tommy's wife). Highly recommend this show!!!!!
Cheech and Chong are still the Kings of stoner comedy. Just wish they would of used more props and a longer show.
These old guys are as fresh and funny as ever. Tommy Chong's wife did the warm-up, and she's a very funny lady. They bring back fan-favorite routines that they've updated hilariously, and there's new and relevant material too. No bells and whistles, just these two guys havin' fun and making us laugh with their clever and typically outrageous humor. Their stuff is not for the uptight.
This was a great concert. It brought back so many memories from back in the day. I also got to share it with my son and his wife, 2 daughters and my wife. It was a special evening to say the least.
Show was very funny and entertaining... adult humor. Had skits from their movies. Tommy's wife was the MC and she was very funny too. I highly recommend this show. Only downside was the seating. Was in a ballroom with chairs smashed together. Very crowded.
