Chase Atlantic in Concert
While Australia has produced plenty of incredible, genre-busting bands, few are as defiantly chameleonic as Chase Atlantic. The youthful trio—Christian Anthony and brothers Clinton and Mitchel Cave—are obviously fond of the sleek R&B-pop originating in Canada (think Drake and The Weeknd) as well as glitchy modern U.S. hip-hop. But the group's 2017 self-titled debut also alights on rakish '80s soul-pop, One Direction-style power pop, and even incandescent slow jams.
Not even many seasoned groups can handle so much genre hopscotching, although the members of Chase Atlantic are no strangers to exceeding expectations. Prior to coalescing in the band, the young Cave brothers were avid YouTube performers known for their uploads of covers by acts such as Bruno Mars, Owl City, and Ed Sheeran. Anthony and Mitchel Cave were also in a quintet called What About Tonight, which gained notoriety after appearing on "X Factor Australia" and being praised by One Direction on the show.
For the three musicians, however, deciding to pool their talents in Chase Atlantic paid immediate dividends. 2014's ‘Dalliance' EP quickly led to 2015's ‘Nostalgia' EP—which featured the hip-hop-infused modern rock tune "Friends," a wrenching postmortem on a crumbling relationship—and 2016's saxophone-aided funk/R&B swerve "Obsessive." Around this time, Chase Atlantic inked a deal with MDDN, the artist-focused music company founded by Good Charlotte's Benji and Joel Madden.
This association not only led to Chase Atlantic opening Australian Good Charlotte shows, but also helped the band take a giant global leap forward. Today, the band is poised to conquer the world, thanks to tours with Sleeping With Sirens and Lights, as well as a stint on the 2018 Warped Tour. In other words, Chase Atlantic is bound and determined to put Australia on the map once again—and is clearly on the verge of succeeding.

by a. l. on 10/9/22went to the one this july in philly and let me say THEY WERE AMAZING like the energy they brought was so good, they sounded incredible live?!?!? their merch was so cute and they showed such love and caring and support to all their fans making sure we were all good i loved them so so much and i’m waiting on their next tour to go see them again!!

by emmy :)) on 10/8/22so even if you get there really early vip is gonna get first & second row but over all its an amazing concert this was my second time going in 2021 i went it was amazing. and in 2022 (this year) it was even better!! im going in 2023 and will be getting vip!! it was amazing tbh i recommend!! this year (2022) i didn’t get vip cause it was all sold out but once they announce they are having another concert i will buy vip!! but overall it was amazing i so so so recommend!!

by j. a. on 9/15/22everything was amazing! i think that one day they could definitely get a bigger venue that’s how good and popular they are, ive been a fan of chase atlantic since 2018 ish and i recently went to one of their concerts in philly ( it was my first ever concert ) and i drove 5 hours for it, but it was 100% worth it!!!

by Suzy on 9/9/22While I did enjoy the concert, in all honesty it felt like a money grab, merch was very similar to that of last tour, only real difference was the color, set list was nearly identical (largely because it’s the same album plus two new songs), majority of the crowd only knew a couple of songs and clearly came from tiktok. had a much better experience last year at brooklyn steel. Venue was also ridiculously expensive ($10 for water… nyc prices go crazy).

I heard the concert was a lot of fun though, however, I looked up the setlist and they barely played any of my favorite songs, so it was probably best I didn't go.

by Nancy E on 9/2/22Best time of my life honestly. They definitely put their all into performing which I genuinely appreciate. Not to mention how sweet and interactive they were at VIP. Will be seeing them again in the future for sure! I will say to anyone going to see them for the 1st time (or pretty much everyone who’s gone before), PLEASEEEE drink water and eat! Lots of people were passing out at our show and throughout the tour. Also buy some earplugs. It took a full week for my hearing to come back😭

by lexi on 8/29/22YouTube Theater - Inglewoodthe venue gave us very little instructions where we were supposed to line up and the differences between vip and GA, but overall the venue was absolutely amazing and so spacious! as for chase atlantic, i’ve been a fan for many years and this was my 5th time seeing them and this was hands down the best show i’ve ever been to. they always give 100% in their performance and i love how much they care about the overall performance from vocals to the visuals to the sound experience, i just love them. they really do care about their fans. i can’t wait to see them again <3
