About

This country and Southern rock superstar is best known for his massive crossover hit, “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.” However, Charlie Daniels is also a card-carrying representative of the Grand Ole Opry and a member of the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum. As a prolific guitarist, singer and fiddler, Daniels continues to sell out concerts and play everyone’s favorite ditty, even after 60 years in the limelight. Part of his appeal is the casual, accessible and down-home quality of his shows. He perpetually attempts to play his best and devotes himself to pleasing fans and improving his skill, all while providing a high-energy environment that gets people on their feet, dancing, clapping and singing along. Tickets to his current North America tour will no doubt please fans. Still crafting new pieces, Daniels and his merry band of Southern rockers released Hits of the South in 2013, and the all-original album Take Back the USA, with its nationalistic spirit, in 2012.

Daniels’ songwriting talent is legendary. Beginning in the early 1950s, he penned songs for prominent musicians, while simultaneously playing backup for legendary artists Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen and Hank Williams, Jr. Upon turning 21, Daniels sang with his first official band, the Jaguars, while earning a living as a session musician. His first big break was “It Hurts Me,” a song that he co-wrote and was recorded by Elvis Presley. From there, Daniels released his self-titled first album in 1971. Dozens of albums followed, with several going platinum, including Fire on the Mountain, Million Mile Reflections -- featuring “The Devil Goes Down to Georgia" -- and Full Moon. His latest collection continues to draw a strong audience, and his famous boot-stomping, devil-besting anthem endures, just as he does, with contemporary artists covering the tune to wide acclaim.

An unforgettable item for your bucket list!

by Shelbsssss on 10/17/16IP Casino Resort and Spa - Biloxi

Everyone should see Charlie Daniels at least once in their lifetime. He loves God, his music and his band. This was an amazing performance! My fiancé said he played the fiddle like no other, and the Devil went down to Georgia was his final song and he went out on fire. He captured the audience with his stories between songs. Charlie Daniels fills his music with life when he sings and you can tell how much soul he puts into playing his music. The only thing I would change if I could... I would have loved to hear him play uneasy rider. Overall he is a must see and if seeing him and his band play isn't on your bucket list you're doing life all wrong!

For some one who is 79 years young, Charlie Daniels has a ton of energy. He definitely knows how to put on a good show.

Charlie ran the devil out of Montgomery!

by WarEagle29 on 8/23/16Montgomery Performing Arts Centre - Montgomery

What a show!! I have been to many concerts over the past several decades and this Charlie Daniels concert is in the top 3 that I have ever witnessed. Charlie at almost 80years old was full of energy and he has not lost a beat. His band if fabulous and Charlie's voice is as strong as ever. His fiddle playing is magical. I count it as a blessing that I was able to see this talented performer and I encourage everyone who has the opportunity to go and witness this legendary artist in action. You will not regret it!

    Awesome

    by Julia12 on 11/27/14Ryman Auditorium - Nashville

Every performer was fantastic (Ryan Weaver, Phil Vassar, Andy Griggs, Jamie O'Neal, Ty Herndon, The Roys, and Charlie Daniels.) I have never really been a fan of Bluegrass but greatly enjoyed The Roys performance. The tribute to Rob Bironas was surprising. Jamie O'Neal was awesome.

Loved variety of artists, especially Ty Herndon!

    by Honored1 on 11/27/14Ryman Auditorium - Nashville

My husband and I attended this benefit show with a variety of artists primarily to see Ty Herndon. We saw him 16 years ago in California and have always enjoyed his music. We fully support his recent decision to come out and thought that he performed even better at the Ryman than when we saw him years ago, He seemed free, happy and confident...and that was so wonderful to witness. His performance with Jamie and Andy was great...the three of them sound fantastic harmonizing. They each sang one of their hits and also a Christmas song. It's great to hear that they are touring together. My husband also enjoys bluegrass, so he loved seeing and hearing the Roys. Overall it was a great show and all to raise money for a great cause..,,Christmas for Kids!

    Amazing!!!

by Anonymous on 11/28/13Ryman Auditorium - Nashville

Awesome performances by all. The Ryman is excellent! The sound was amazing. It was loud like a concert should be but we didn't go home with our ears ringing. The old style church seats get a little uncomfortable after a 3 hour performance but we had our jackets to sit on.

    What a great night!

by Anonymous on 11/28/13Ryman Auditorium - Nashville

The only unfortunate thing was we couldn't see the video screen on the stage in between bands. Other than that it was a memorable terrific night. We feel so lucky to have been in Nashville this week!

    Awesome

by Skelton on 11/28/13Ryman Auditorium - Nashville

This show was great, the only thing that would have made it better was if it had lasted longer. Made us feel good that the money made from this event went to unfortunate kids for Christmas.

    Great Night All Around

by ShariLee26 on 9/17/13NYCB Theatre at Westbury - Westbury

Both Marshall Tucker and Charlie Daniels still "have it" after all these yars! The venue was awesome too. There is an outdoor bar area and deck to sit out before the show. There was a local band playing outside for the Wounded Warrior Project. Great place to see a show!

    South's Gonna Do It Again

by PPakus on 9/11/13NYCB Theatre at Westbury - Westbury

I really enjoyed the show. The only thing that bothered me was that Marshall Tucker had such a short set.

    Great stuff

by GratefulSteve on 9/10/13NYCB Theatre at Westbury - Westbury

Marshall Tucker Band played a great show, Can't you see always is a highlight. Charlie Daniels Band was good, he changed some of the words to his songs to project a cleaner image. Like he said If you don't like the way I'm living then leave this long haired country boy alone. So his attitude hasn't changed, yet he felt compelled to change the words from I will take another toke, to I will rope another dog. It was difficult to understand him sometimes because he didn't seem to articulate as well as he did in the past. He did play one hell of a version of Trudy which was real nice to hear. His religious stance was not endearing, but he still is a hell of a rocker. Just don't understand why he feels he needs to clean up his songs.

    CDB & Tucker was awesome!

by KathleenGrace on 9/10/13NYCB Theatre at Westbury - Westbury

Seeing The Marshall Tucker Band & The Charlie Daniels Band was a great show! It brought back great memories from the late 70's-the stuff I grew up on! Charlie Daniels I believe is 73 years old, and boy he can still bring it on better than the best of them. You can see it is in his heart to perform. Love both bands!!!!

    Southern at it's best!

by Mmisty on 9/10/13NYCB Theatre at Westbury - Westbury

I came mostly for Marshall Tucker, but was blown away by the energy and fiddle playing of Charlie Daniels. I have only seen both of them once before, in the early 80's late 70's. This was an amazing concert and brought back great memories. My only criticism is that they didn't, do an encore.
