About

This country and Southern rock superstar is best known for his massive crossover hit, “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.” However, Charlie Daniels is also a card-carrying representative of the Grand Ole Opry and a member of the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum. As a prolific guitarist, singer and fiddler, Daniels continues to sell out concerts and play everyone’s favorite ditty, even after 60 years in the limelight. Part of his appeal is the casual, accessible and down-home quality of his shows. He perpetually attempts to play his best and devotes himself to pleasing fans and improving his skill, all while providing a high-energy environment that gets people on their feet, dancing, clapping and singing along. Tickets to his current North America tour will no doubt please fans. Still crafting new pieces, Daniels and his merry band of Southern rockers released Hits of the South in 2013, and the all-original album Take Back the USA, with its nationalistic spirit, in 2012.

Daniels’ songwriting talent is legendary. Beginning in the early 1950s, he penned songs for prominent musicians, while simultaneously playing backup for legendary artists Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen and Hank Williams, Jr. Upon turning 21, Daniels sang with his first official band, the Jaguars, while earning a living as a session musician. His first big break was “It Hurts Me,” a song that he co-wrote and was recorded by Elvis Presley. From there, Daniels released his self-titled first album in 1971. Dozens of albums followed, with several going platinum, including Fire on the Mountain, Million Mile Reflections -- featuring “The Devil Goes Down to Georgia" -- and Full Moon. His latest collection continues to draw a strong audience, and his famous boot-stomping, devil-besting anthem endures, just as he does, with contemporary artists covering the tune to wide acclaim.

    WAY TOO LOUD!!

by heartsvr on 9/18/11IP Casino Resort and Spa - Biloxi

This could have been an awesome concert, as of course the CDB is very talented. However, their sound people should really take some time to sit where the audience sits when they do their sound checks. The base player and the sub woofer were particularly loud, and drowned out the vocals. Perhaps in an outdoor arena the sound level would have been fine, but at the IP, it was just too loud to appreciate it.

    Amazing drummer!

by LLMcG on 9/18/11IP Casino Resort and Spa - Biloxi

Amazing drum solo's. The words were unintelligible in most songs. Talented musicians but a combination of bad sound and pour vocals made the music sub par. The seats were annoying as we had people in chairs in front of us talking. Lots of ushers should have jumped in and fine something.

    CD & CDB

by chuteman on 9/18/11IP Casino Resort and Spa - Biloxi

LOVED THE SHOW. HOWEVER HE DID NOT PLAY ONE OF HIS BEST, AND MY FAVORITE, 'SIMPLE MAN'. Part t really got and did not like much. took about 10 minuts doing instrument playing and another 15 a only from playing drum solo. ok, but would rather heard more songs.

Charlie Daniels performance was ok. Most of the concert was devoted to "solos" mainly by the drummer, which went on way too long. Went to hear Charlie Daniels, not 10 minute drum solos. Could have used more Charlie, more fiddle, less church.

    CDB STILL ROCKIN' IT!

by BOBMUSIC58 on 9/9/11Delta Downs Event Center - Vinton

VERY GOOD SHOW, THE SOUND SYSTEM DID THE SMALL SETTING MUCH JUSTICE. CHARLIE WILL BE 75 YRS. OLD IN OCT. & HE'S STILL GOT IT. HE USES HIS INSTRUMENTS TO HARMONIZE WITH THE OTHER BAND MEMBERS TO PERFECTION. SANG SOME OLDER STUFF, & SHOWED HIS PATRIOTISM TO A VET IN WHEELCHAIR BY TOSSING HIM A FIDDLE BOW! (VERY COOL).

    Poor Acoustics

by 4rranch on 9/6/11Delta Downs Event Center - Vinton

The Event Center was very nice with not a bad seat in the house. Charlie Daniels is very entertaining and just as vibrant as always. BUT, acoustics were very poor with extreme reverberation.

Great concert! A true American who loves to entertain and show his love of music, our troops, and America. There is a reason why he has been entertaining for so many years. I was disappointed to see so few young people at the concert however.

Charlie Daniels- Not worth ANY $$$

by ktoy on 5/2/11The Mansion - Branson

I have never been so disappointed in a concert. Between the multiple "jam sessions" when Charlie was off-stage and his band played loud rock-n-roll; the 10 minute drum solo; the horrible songs written and sung by his keyboard player and bass guitarist; it was all I could do not to get up and leave. Charlie played the fiddle for 3 songs and actually sang in less than half of the music played. He lost a LOT of fans over this concert- including me. I would have at least expected some country music and fiddle playing- this was a rock concert. And watching him drink wine behind the drummer while his band "jammed" didn't help the situation.

    Charlie is Awesome!!

by Irishhillbilly on 4/30/11The Mansion - Branson

I had seen Charlie once before so I knew we were in for a great ride and it was! I love how unapologetic ally American he is and I love how he uses the place he is in to stand up for what he believes. He's the kind of guy you feel like you could have a beer and an enjoyable conversation with or pick and sing deep into the night! I've always loved him for his music but I also love him for the man he comes across as. Anyone would enjoy one of his shows. He is also very proud of his talented band and it shows. They all seem to respect each other highly and that is wonderful to see.

    Awesome gift

    by 10thbirthday on 4/30/11The Mansion - Branson

I actually live in St. Louis and drove to Branson for my daughters birthday persent she wanted to see Charlie Daniels live. It was awesome she was able to meet the piano player and guitar player. Was not told until we got there if we would of gone on the Charlie Daniles website and registered we could of printed off passes to go backstage and meet him so she would of had the best present ever. She will do it one day, I hope. For now she did have the best gift for her 10th birthday. Awesome concert though and two rows back on the balcony we were able to see everything and he of course did her favorite song. Thank you :-)

    by AAPA2010 on 4/30/11The Mansion - Branson

I found the band to be just as amazing as the legend himself. I very much enjoyed listening to my favorite songs as well as new ones I have never heard before. This is a show I have been waiting to see for some time.
