Charlie's show was awesomely funny. His coordination of the show, audience participation and timing came together really well. I would go see it again tomorrow. I saw a well known comedian act in Vegas a month ago. Charlie was 100 times better.
Charlie’s show was awesome and better than expected! Love his material and delivery. Haven’t laughed this hard in years. Hope he returns again soon. While no reflection on Charlie or his act, the facilities and the second warm up act were less than stellar. No rest rooms above the basement for theatres with balconies and the general level of cleanliness were downers…
Best show I have seen in a while. I didn’t think I could laugh so hard. I will definitely see Charlie again when he comes back through Wisconsin
Charlie Berens was a joy to watch live! He was so much funnier than I imagined a stand up comedy could be.
Charlie was full of energy, he had us laughing the entire show. His material was all new and his openers were hilarious too. Show started 20 min late, but zero complaints from me. I’d definitely go again and recommend seeing his show live.
Venue staff were really working hard to push everyone through Covid check, metal detectors and tucker scanner. Only complaint was the mailed Ticketmaster tickets didn’t have a barcode so had to wait in will call line to get new tickets. I didn’t find this out until we reached the ticket scanner so had to do check points again. Charlie had new current material as well as some of his old standbys that still get me laughing no matter how many times I hear/watch.
A terrific show all in all with Charlie! The opening act was a major disappointment, but the reason we went was to see Charlie and he did not disappoint! Hilarious, interacted with the crowd throughout the show and kept it pretty Midwest family friendly! Would go back and see him again!
Charlie was fantastic and hilarious. Wish his show was a bit longer or that he engaged more with audience members though. The Civic Center didn’t have a very tight security process, didn’t promote the safety of Covid-19 precautions, and only had 1 bar that had a huge line that you had to wait forever in.
Charlie Berens was hilarious!! His videos are funny but live and in person was so much better. He has great crowd interaction and kept everyone laughing through the whole set. Would definitely see him again!
Good opener. Hit his bits. Poked at some touchy subjects, prodded some questionable ones. Got us laughing pretty good there. Yeah, no, go see this guy. Watch out for deer.
Been waiting to see Charlie for a long time due to Covid cancellations. Love his Manitowoc Wisconsin Minute. Nice to have a comedian with Midwest humor which we can understand being from the Minnesota/Wisconsin area. He seems down to earth and just a little irreverent.
We enjoyed Charlie at the Mayo Civic Center. The Civic Center is easy to get to and you can take the Skyway if the weather is bad. The seats and line of sight are excellent. The show was about 90 minutes with 20 plus for the opening act and about an hour for Charlie. The opening act, Andrew Roffe, was entertaining and best when when telling us his weight determined his ethnicity. It was a good bit that was nicely handled. Charlie was was the fun we needed during COVID. He makes a great connection with the audience. He jumped right into politics but he had a light touch as when he did religion near the end of the show. He succeeded in making us laugh because he wasn't looking for our approval. The crowd agreed. As we were in Minnesota he had to make fun of the Vikings; some place had enough room to hold all the Vikings' Super Bowl trophies. And his stories of being a newsreader in Dallas with a Wisconsin accent and vocabulary were great. Go see Charlie. You don't have to be from the midwest to enjoy him.
Check in kinda sucked because you had to wear a mask. But the show was amazing and would definitely come back to see Charlie again.
The show started nearly a half hour late, because it took so long to get everyone through security. When we got to our seats, it was extremely tight and clearly not designed for having a full house of adults. The seats were maybe 17" wide, but the average adult is definitely larger than that. We were packed in so tight, hip to hip and shoulders hunched forward, it was difficult to enjoy the show. The performance was about how I expected, entertaining and interactive. There were times when I think the audience response and the general atmosphere was impeded by the late start and uncomfortable seating.
My husband and I went to the Rochester MN show and it was amazing! Charlie is so funny my husband was laughing till he cried. The Midwest goodbye was probably the funniest because it was so true with my family. Would love to go see him again!
As someone who works in healthcare during these uncertain times… 90 minutes of pure laughter was EXACTLY what was needed. I have always wanted to see him in person, my wish came true on my 33rd wedding anniversary! Thanks for the laughter Charlie! It was much needed and appreciated!
Charlie had a nice chat with the crowd at the start of the show. He is talented with great improv. Then he got into the show and spoofed the Midwest accent and attitudes. So funny!! One of the spoofs was the remake of the movie Titanic with Jack voice dubbed with a more Midwestern voice. Hilarious!
Loved his performance and authenticity. Only negative was too many people coming and going to get drinks. It was very distracting.
Charlie was very funny and very good. The problem that I had were the ushers. They were very helpful finding seats, however, once the show started they were walking up and down the isle and were very distracting. I came to see Charlie not the ushers. I felt like I was being babysat. Like I said, Charlie was great, the venue was beautiful, the ushers need to relax.
