This production was enjoyed by everyone in our group

by We’ll done! on 4/25/22North Charleston Performing Arts Center - North Charleston

We took family - so 70+ year old to 8 year old. The play was well done with a few modern modifications of the lucky ticket winners. The adaptions from the movies to the stage all worked well. Our teens enjoyed it even though they have seen both versions of the movie and the younger ones were totally entranced. 10 year old Charlie was excellent!

Emerald City is a wonderful way to get your child interested in the theater. The shows are great and there isn't a bad seat in the house.

    Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

I personally thought it was a boring production. My 5yr old granddaughter wasn't interested in the play. My 8yr. old wasn't thrilled, either. When actors didn't face front, it was difficult to hear and understand them. I have nothing against the actors, they were good. It was just the production.

My grandchildren 4 and 6 years old thoroughly enjoyed the play. We will go to other plays by this group, Emerald Theatre.

not worth the trip to the city

by MichelleKr on 4/3/11Apollo Theater - Chicago

The actors were fine. The play was cute--not really worth my $60 for 4 tickets. We prefer the Lincolnshire Marriott Theater for Young Audiences for the same price. question answer session was pointless since they kept calling on 3 and 4 year old kids while older kids were raising hands. My kids were disappointed that they did not have an autograph session-even though they handed out autograph booklets before the show.

    A bit disappointing

by Anonymous on 3/21/11Apollo Theater - Chicago

Positives: The kids loved meeting the characters after the play The story was engaging for small kids Negatives: The oompa loompa puppets were rather strange This play was extremely short (less than an hour), and felt rushed It was hard to see the play from our side seats, even though we were in the fourth row
