Cinderella was great for my 7yr old!!

by 1FeistyNurse on 2/21/12Charline McCombs Empire Theatre - San Antonio

Really enjoyed the show. The seating was strange as the ushers really didn't know where our seats were and re-directed us twice. Also, the autograph station needs to be organized better after the show. Otherwise, it was great! If my daughter enjoyed it, I enjoyed it!!!

What fun for the little ones!

by missmuffit on 11/2/11BJCC Theatre - Birmingham

This was the perfect way to introduce pre-schoolers to theatre. The informal atmosphere and venue added to the fun. Limiting the number of children was good, too, as it helped them to stay focused on the stage. The characters were awesome and interacted well with the audience. [this was our first time and is definitely something we will do again]

Not Bad for a Small Production

by Anonymous on 11/1/11BJCC Theatre - Birmingham

This was my first time at the Birmingham Children's Theater. I was not expecting such a small space, and only a cast of 4. The rendition of Cinderella was good, cute, but not my favorite. It is very far off from the original Grimm's Fairy Tale, and not all that much closer to Disney's version. The acting was good, nothing special, but nothing lacking. I liked that it was a musical. All the actors were very good with playing to the kids. The set was a fine design, but looked a little ratty, with scuff marks etc. I am not originally from the Birmingham area, and this is the first production I have seen here. Overall, I think it was fairly well done, certainly entertaining for my daughter who is 4, but not the best children's production I have seen. Not knowing what else is available in this area, I would recommend this, and would see another one of their productions.

    Magical Cinderella

by kevykins on 11/1/11BJCC Theatre - Birmingham

This show was part of BCT's "Wee Folks" series, geared to preschool and elementary school children, but it was done in a way that was thoroughly enjoyable to adults. It was not dumbed down for children, but had a lot of color and movement, the kids loved it. The set was simple but effective. The cast of four was small but each were outstanding in their roles. Birmingham Children's Theatre has a reputation for mounting excellent productions and after seeing this, my first BCT show, I can see the reputation is well deserved.

    Cinderella

    by mjlatham93 on 11/1/11BJCC Theatre - Birmingham

Cinderella was located in the PeeWee theater. I had never been there but I thought okay I'll give it a try. I took my little sister who is 8 years old. I do not recommend taking anybody who is over the age of five to the PeeWee theater. There were no seats in there but risers that you had to sit on. It was extremely uncomfortable. But the play was good. Short. But good. It was long enough that the younger kids did not lose interest. I was expecting a little more I guess, but over all the play was funny and sweet. If you want to take somebody to see it make sure it is a little girl who is under the age of five.

    Cinderella

by Norvella on 10/25/11BJCC Theatre - Birmingham

My first time to the Wee Ones Theater at the Children's Theater. I will definitely go again and take all my children and their friends. The price is good. The performance was simple enough for my 5 year old to understand and follow with ease. She never looked away. You had her attention the whole time. Meeting the cast outside in the lobby was an added treat. She loved Cinderella and Fairy Godmother! She was afraid of Ms. Longnose and the Prince. I must say the up front closeness to the characters really made a difference. Time length was perfect.. The interaction with the characters was fun for all the children. Nice touch! Can't wait to go again!

Cinderella at Wee Theatre surprisingly good!

by tjarks on 10/25/11BJCC Theatre - Birmingham

I didn't have great expectations but hoped this would be fun entertainment for my 5 yr old granddaughter and her friends (4 and 2)...and I was pleasantly surprised. Having never been to the Wee theatre, I wondered how they could pull this off with only FOUR actors (and six characters)...and boy did they ever. It was a great production, the actors were wonderful and entertaining. The trick or treat with autographs set up in the lobby was a special BONUS...all the girls loved it!!

The play was very short and my daughter really didn't like it, she said "mom that doesn't even look like cinderella". I was very disappointed.

    Fantastic Cast!!

by Moniaree on 10/24/11BJCC Theatre - Birmingham

The production was wonderful. The only thing that was not right was that it did not start on time. When you are dealing with very young children, starting on time is important. It would be nice to have better seating for adults. It makes it difficult to sit on the floor if you are a grandma. There were seat assignments on the tickets that meant nothing. There were no seat numbers.....only the floor.

    Stepsisters Made the Show!!

    by playwatcher51 on 4/19/11Lincoln Theatre - COLUMBUS

Saw this play twice!! Casting was excellent..Cinderella was the classic Cinderella and was very endearing. But the scenes we looked forward to the most were the ones with the stepmother and stepsisters!! Their timing, the way they played off each other, their acting and singing ....hilarious to watch...we honestly couldn't wait for their scenes.

Took my 4 year old son. This was his 5th play overall. He loved it so much. Was totally into it from start to finish. He had a blast telling my wife and other people about it. Can't wait to go see more shows at Columbus Children's Theatre!
