    Nice show, but ...

    by Goldglovess13 on 6/11/12Cadillac Palace - Chicago

The production was very good for the most part, but a huge drawback was the cutting of at least one scene - an entire scene. Gus the Theatre Cat was not shown. This is one that the 1980s recording had Sir John Gielgud as Gus. To me, it greatly disappointing because I it is one of my favorites. This is quite an error, I believe. One egregious enough to drop 1 or 2 stars. It also begs the question: What else was cut? The singing and dancing were great and worthy of high marks, but only among the best I've seen, not the very best.

    Poor Production

    by SMC77 on 6/11/12Cadillac Palace - Chicago

Sound system was not great. One voice was extremely annoying and off key. Have seen a number of times and felt that this production was very rushed. Not extremely professional. The audience was extremely rude with lack of manners. Too many people getting up and leaving during the production, singing along with the words and the fight at the end between two sets of patrons was unbelievable.

    CATS, rather disappointing

by WeeNellie on 6/11/12Cadillac Palace - Chicago

I have wanted to see "Cats" since the early 1980's when I missed it living in England. I'm afraid I was fairly disappointed mostly with the story line of the production which fell flat even at the end. The dancers were exceptional and the singing great although rather repetitive. It's not that it was a bad production, it just wasn't what I had hoped it would be. I felt "Chicago" was a far superior production overall.

    Cats was wonderful!!!!

by Swimbugs on 6/11/12Cadillac Palace - Chicago

I love the play Cats!! I have the DVD and the soundtrack. I saw the play exactly 10 years ago to the day when I was 6 and it was everything I remembered! The only part I didn't love was Mungo Jerry and Rumpleteaser. I have the British version and to hear American accent was weird. I want Cats to come back again!!

The second act was a total acid trip

by MikeDoesntLikeCats on 6/11/12Cadillac Palace - Chicago

First act was ok, kind of entertaining and cool to see the fluid movements of the dancers. There is NO story line, just a bunch of loose stories without a central story. No idea how this is the longest running broadway show, there are a lot better shows out there.

    Cats was amazing!

by Anonymous on 5/15/12Cadillac Palace Theater - Chicago

It was great being able to finally see this musical. I thought it was amazing how "cat like" the players were. Great music of course. I could see how it could be hard to understand because it is all music, no spoken word. That's why I tried to read up on the plot, etc. beforehand so it made sense to me. Musicals like this are not for everyone. But I personally loved it. :-)

No Storyline - Just a Cat Variety Show

    by theaterfan91 on 5/14/12Cadillac Palace - Chicago

I wasn't sure what to expect when I came to see the show. I imagined I'd see great costumes, hear wonderful music & singing, and more. I did see that. I love Andrew Lloyd Weber's music, but was not amused by the fact that there was no story at all. I have a great imagination & tried to create a story in my head, but there really wasn't much to use for this purpose. I didn't see a point, a moral, or anything to take back with me knowing why this play has been going on for so long. Felt like I was watching a random collection of music numbers of people in really amazing costumes. Visually it was mesmerizing, but there was no mental stimulation at all.

Must see at least 1 time..

by Doinita on 5/6/12Cadillac Palace Theater - Chicago

I was so exited to see this performance. I have heard so many things about it in the media and could not wait to see it. I had very high expectations for this show, but it left me a bit dissapointed. If i were to rate it from 1 - 10, 10 being the highest.. I would rate this show at a 6 - 7. There were some really good parts here and there, but not enough to make me go back and see it again. I guess you would have to be a cat person to related to the performance. A little bit childish for my taste.
