"Professional" theater? Not so much
by TimmyJimmy83 on 4/14/14Studio One Riffe Center - ColumbusWhere do I start? Tickets prices were outrageous, so I expected a professional event. The producer and all the bios even mentioned it being professional, meaning the cators and staff got paid, but I want a refund! The actress playing Shelby approached the production like a child in bad community theater! I was actually glad when she died so I did not have to hear her empty, speech impeeded, words. The rest of the actresses were alright, but not worth the $70 ticket by ANY means. The seats were uncomfortable. Like, being packed into a can of sardines uncomfortable. They chose to make this a modern day version, but did not follow through. A MODERN 22-25 year old girl is going to want a Julia Roberts hairstyle? Look, I got the joke, but it was at the sake of a relateable celebrity. A MODERN hair salon is going to have pictures of 60's style hairdos on the wall? I mean, who produced this and decided any of this was a good idea?!? In addition, they made M'Lynn and Shelby blonde. Neither actress was, so M'Lynn looked ridiculous in her wig (which did not match her hair) and Shelby's die job looked painful and unnatural. I could lietrally go on and on about how abissmal this show was.
