Really enjoyed the show! Love and miss Johnny Cash.
We couldn't be more thrilled to take first timers to a CATCO performance. This was fabulous. All the performers were top tier; Travis Smith was in a whole different category - an unbelievably talented individual. Go! See! Enjoy!
Loved the intimacy of the performance. Very well done. Unfortunately some of the singers were difficult to hear over the instruments. Definitely recommending it to all to go visit
Great show!! Love Johnny Cash and the cast did a wonderful job portraying his music. I took my 87 year old father and he LOVED the show. I don't call myself a country music fan but Johnny Cash is a classic and so is the show. Very enjoyable show!!!
All of the cast were great and they seemed to be enjoying themselves as much as the audience enjoyed them. A fantastic show.
This was a great show. Not an impersonation type show but more of a tribute, going mostly on a timeline. I was disappointed that the American recordings were not represented, and I feel Johnny would be disappointed, too.
They were all excellent. Kudos to Lori Cannon and Jonathan Putnam.
This play is well written and the actors showed depth and range. I definitely laughed alot. Worth seeing.
Laugh out loud funny, yet touching. Not a weak performance in the bunch, but a couple of standouts - Vanya and the Housekeeper. Vonya's second act monologue is brilliant and so well delivered. Standing O for this production.
Catco's production of Mothers and Sons was a beautifully acted story of relationships and the dynamics of relationships coping with lives and the deaths of loved ones. The play centers on a mother, played by Jaqueline Bates, who is still having difficulty letting go of her son, who died of AIDS more than a decade earlier. She drops in, unannounced, to visit his former lover (David Vargo), who has moved on, married, and he and his husband (Joe Dallacqua) are now raising a son of their own (Lucas Cloran & Elliot Hattemer). From lights up to curtain call, this production was fantastic.
I'd never been to an 11 a.m. performance before so I was surprised at how quickly I became absorbed in the play. All I knew about it was the brief synopsis in the publicity--which never mentioned the AIDS epidemic so I wasn't prepared for my own memories and losses being triggered by the powerful performances. The ensemble cast played off one another wonderfully, including the child. The happy ending, while perhaps a bit sentimental, was a welcome relief!
The play was very moving. We enjoyed it immensely. The set was really beautiful and the acting was first rate. Broadway couldn't have been any better.
I found this play to be very moving and very well acted although I thought the portrayal of Will Ogden as played by Joe Dallacqua bordered just a bit on the stereotype of gay men. I would have liked to have him toned down just a bit. David Vargo was outstanding in the role of Cal. The plot delivered a very powerful and important message. The evolution of Katherine Gerard's character was believable and touching.
The actors did a great job with delivery and entertaining the audience.
This play was an enormous disappointment. Most noticably, the articulation was terrible, so we couldn't understand a lot of what was said. The acting was also mediocre. When we were leaving, another person asked us if the play was over...that's how bad it was. Kids in the audience were bored and restless, which didn't help with trying to understand the actors. I have never given a play such a low rating and I know how hard actors work to learn their lines and staging, but this play was a waste of money.
Campy prequel to the story of Peter Pan and the lost boys full of double-entendre, song - and talent! Steven Anderson has directed yet another hit to add to his successful CATCO resume. I believe!
We had a marvelous time at this play! Great job all!
What a treasure to have in Columbus, Ohio. Professional theater in an intimate setting. Do yourself a favor and get a ticket for these amazing performances!
Andrew is amazing! From the beginning to the end, this one man show will keep you entertained. Go see this awesome show!
Not only was the show an incredibly entertaining experience - with loads of laughs and a must see for anyone who loves Barbara; but the fact that Andrew Levitt never stopped for over 90 minutes was mind blowing! He is definitely someone to watch!
