  • Decent Night Out

by Coach on 9/16/25Scherr Forum- B of A Performing Arts Center, Thousand Oaks - Thousand OaksRating: 3 out of 5

I am no musical professional, but on several occasions, I heard singing that I thought was off pitch. Also, too much time spent as pianist solos. Good side - there was intermission. but again this time was filled with solos on the piano. worth seeing once but not again..... in my opinion

  • Carpenters Legacy Keeps The Spirit Alive!!!

by Kale Jones on 11/13/24Rating: 5 out of 5

Sally and Ned are the epitome of what it means to be entertainers. Let’s start with Ned. Not only does he play the piano beautifully and masterfully; Ned fills the role of Richard Carpenter perfectly!!! He’s got the mannerisms and personality down pat (not to mention) the way he harmonizes with Sally. Which leads me to the other half of Carpenters Legacy, Sally Olson. What can I say? Sally looks and sounds hauntingly close to “Karen Carpenter.” Anybody else whom finds it necessity to disagree with that statement needs their ears and eyes checked (perhaps a psychological evaluation). Not only does Sally have the looks and voice; she also possesses what I think was Karens most important trait. Sally is kind-hearted (I happen to be speaking from experience). If you know her you’d know what I’m talking about. Those who feel the need to attack her or “Carpenters Legacy” (in general) should be ashamed of themselves. It’s disgusting that people can hide behinds their screens degrading and defaming someone’s character and career. Although I shouldn’t be surprised (after-all) it’s those types of people that led Karen to her demise. If you are a real Carpenters fan you would certainly enjoy Sally and Ned’s show. It’s cool how their show is “A Recreation Of The Carpenters 1976 UK Tour.” I’m grateful for this type of show because it provides an opportunity for a young Carpenters fan like me (born 2005) a chance to get an idea of what a 1976 Carpenters show would have been like. Thank You, Sally and Ned for your continued preservation of the Carpenters legacy and keep up the superb work!!! P.S. Pay no mind to the trolls…THE GOOD GUYS ALWAYS WIN😉

  • Phenomenal!!!

by mskbristol on 11/12/24Chandler Center for the Arts - ChandlerRating: 5 out of 5

Had no idea what to expect. The show was incredible. We loved having the video in the background correlating with the live performance. It was as if Karen and Richard Carpenter were actually with us in the room. We also loved how Sally (Karen) and Ned (Richard) brought their own history into the last couple songs. It reminded me of days gone, by sitting on my couch, album in hand, singing all the words to every song. I would go back again and again. Thank you for such an incredible show!!!!

  • Not impressed Felt like typical Las Vegas Revue

by jimbo on 11/12/24Chandler Center for the Arts - ChandlerRating: 3 out of 5

"Karen"had a very nice voice, but did not have the same tone as the real Karen. Did not like the piano solo or the Bacharach combo. I was there for the Carpenters. Then crammed all of the Carpenter songs into a medley.

  • A Little Corny bit OK

by Neecey on 11/12/24Chandler Center for the Arts - ChandlerRating: 3 out of 5

This show was just OK. I felt it to be a little “corny”, but then it is from the 1970s era and perhaps it needed to be. It was also very Las Vegas style, especially with the (many) jokes by “Richard”. I think it would have been better as a Carpenters review rather than them trying to impersonate Karen and Richard, as nobody can match Karen’s voice. The first half included songs I wasn’t familiar with which seemed odd to me with all the hits the Carpenters had. But they saved those for the second half with a medley of their greatest hits. The films of the Carpenters on the screen in the background were great. Overall, I didn’t feel cheated by this show but I also wouldn’t go again. Kind of reminded of a cheap Elvis impersonator show in Vegas.

First let's acknowledge Karen Carpenters voice one in a billion. The tribute artist has talent however the show as a whole is just average.
