Carolina Hurricanes History
The Carolina Hurricanes were established in Raleigh in 1997 after relocating from Hartford, Connecticut, where the National Hockey League franchise was originally founded in 1979. Since their arrival in North Carolina, the Hurricanes have made the playoffs 11 times, captured six division championships, two Eastern Conference titles and the 2006 Stanley Cup Championship.
The team also hosted the 2004 NHL Draft and the 2011 NHL All-Star Game at Lenovo Center, where they play their home games. When the Hurricanes made the playoffs in 2001, against the defending Stanley Cup Champions New Jersey Devils, they lost the series but came back from a 3-0 deficit to force a sixth game — marking what many believed to be the start of real hockey in the Research Triangle.
The 2005-2006 season marked the best in the Hurricanes' history, as the team finished with 112 points, beating the previous franchise-best record of 94 points. They ended up beating the Edmonton Oilers in the Stanley Cup Final, marking the first time in NHL history that two former World Hockey Association teams faced off in the Final.

Located in Raleigh, North Carolina, Lenovo Center(Opens in new tab) opened its doors in October 1999. On opening night, the arena played host to Raleigh's first-ever NHL game when the Hurricanes hosted the New Jersey Devils. The arena has hosted several NHL Stanley Cup Playoff and Final games, including on June 19, 2006, when the Hurricanes had the home advantage and won the Stanley Cup Final in game seven, deviating the Edmonton Oilers 3-1, bringing the Hurricanes their first Stanley Cup and the first major professional sports championship for North Carolina.
In 2019, the arena hosted the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time in 10 years and set a single-game record with 19,495 fans in attendance. That record was further extended on May 14, 2022, when the Hurricanes defeated the Boston Bruins 3-2 before 19,513 fans. Lenovo Center welcomes more than 1.5 million guests every year.

I'm not a hard person to please when it comes to food. I just wish there was more options for people that are vegetarian other than some weird sandwich on the 3rd floor or a bland salad. I realize there isn't going to be an abundant number of options because there's only so much room but blech! I'll eat before we get there from now on.
Was a great game especially with the Rangers coming back and winning in the 3rd period. Was unfortunate to see a lot of Canes fans leaving early - particular when the game was tied and when they were only down 1 goal. The arena driving traffic/parking situation is horrendous - we waiting an hour to leave the arena in our car before we could even pull out of the parking spot. Incompetent logistics.
Great game it was my first playoff game. Learn you need to get to the game very early to beat the traffic.
We were first time STM memebers and enjoyed every game we went to; win or lose. Such a great atmosphere with great fans to get to know. Staff was always kind and friendly.
This is our first time experiencing the Stanley Cup playoffs in person and wow this did not disappoint! Loved the entire experience! The entire atmosphere is spectacular. Added bonus parking is pretty well organized. Of course leaving is a challenge so be prepared to wait
The game was obviously great. PNC Arena is far from great. Worst leg space of the 20+ NHL arenas I have been to. Almost upimpossible to fit in if you are 6”4. The PA announcer is very disrespectful when announcing the visiting teams goals. It ‘s impossible to hear., he is screaming when announcing Canes goals. I am an interested fan and would like to know who scored for the visiting team like in any other arena, bush league level. Friendly people that deserves that the arena gets more professional.
I have attended many events at PNC arena over the years, but this will be my last , $50 to park ??? Outrageous rip off for the common working man. And to add insult to injury, all the staff that is there to flece you of your money is gone when game is over, thus turning the parking lot in to a chaotic mess.
I thoroughly enjoy each game. The players are excellent and really knows how to energize the crowd. The stoic coach is a pleasure to see and hear. The DJ, announcers and commentators are best in class. The variety of food and snack choices are also great. The only thing that I wish they improve is giveaways on level 3. The parachutes dropping tee shirts and the tee shirt cannons not go up that far. I attend at least a dozen games yearly and would also like the opportunity to take home free give aways.

Watched Game 2 of the 1st series of the Stanley Cup Playoffs between the Carolina Hurricanes and New York Islanders on Apr 22nd, 2024. Game was absolutely electric and the comeback win was amazing. Would 100% recommend going to a playoff hockey game if you’ve never been before.
Hurricanes Hockey is the best experience ever. Playoff Hocjet is out of this world. Pregame tailgating! In game fun with fans and winning atmosphere!
Game was great but our seats sucked.. The concrete wall was way to close and a seat wouldn’t function properly.

This was epic! This was my very first professional hockey game! I was fully invested!! The team store was fully stocked and incredible employees!! I met the GM and he was warm and welcoming!! The time and commitment that each employee put forth, made this once in lifetime experience…. World class !! Thank you!! I’m now a fan for life!!
Excellent experience with my ticketmaster tickets to see the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 1 of the NHL Playoffs. Fabulous game and experience while we had no issues with tickets or seats.
Much fun was had by all. The Hurricanes won the game and all is right with the world, if you’re a Canes fan!

April 4, 2024 game. Great game, and the experience at PNC is always good. They seem to have mastered getting the parking lots emptied after an event like no other arena I've been to. It helps that the location of the Arena is adjacent to SO many side streets. Food and bev are a bit pricey, but that's no big surprise. They did move the lines along quickly though, so you didn't have to wait long for your $50 quick-serve dinner for two. Rest rooms were clean, staff was friendly and helpful -- all around good experience.
Great facility. Easy walk from our hotel. Ticketing and admission all worked as they should. The wrong team won.
