Was so looking forward to a day of laughter and bought my two friends tickets to sit on the third row. Maybe i was expecting too much and I know he gave a great talk, it was just different than what i went for. Had it not been that it was Jaston Williams who I love in Tuna, I would have left at intermission.
I'm so amazed at such storytelling ability of Jaston Williams. We have enjoyed "Tuna Christmas" performances but this was amazing. I guess when you recognize the characters as your own that makes for great entertainment.
A little bit of a let down coming off the Tuna series. Mr. williams is a truly talented individual. This show was a compilation of stories that he just stood and talked. There was some of him slipping into character which was my favorite part, but this was very little. No costumes, no sets. Enjoyable evening, but was expecting a little more of Mr. Williams "acting" talent to come through.
I laughed so hard my sides hurt for hours afterwards. I could see this play (only with Jastin Williams) everynight for a month. He has such a way with words and small gestures and facial expressions. Saturday's performance was priceless.
Jaston Williams is an amazing talent and makes you feel like you are the only person he is talking to, even in a full house. The talk back was wonderful; he is very gracious and seemed to enjoy talking to the audience. Thanks Jaston, for another great evening!
We were disappointed in "Camping with Gasoline". The show was not what we expected. When looking at the playbill, we thought there would be props and a type of show...not a Tuna show but at least in the same genre. There were moments of entertainment...but not many. We were expecting an evening of "camp stories" but sat through a lot philosophical thoughts of adoption and other personal feelings. We are proud of the adoption and of the journey he took to get to that point...but that is not comedic entertainment. Certainly not worth the ticket price.
From the introductory remarks until the last butt on the campfire, my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the performance! Jaston has a sharp and creative mind and a wonderful way of interjecting life into his storylines. We could have listened all day! Our son was a Scout from cubs through chapter chief in Nishkin Halupa A Pelachi Order of the Arrow and he would have laughed his butt off!
