Fabulous production, in particular the actors portraying Sally Bowles and the MC.

    Cabaret

by ChristopherKC on 6/15/15Signature Theatre - Arlington

Cabaret is one of the great Broadway musicals. Through film and many revivals it has been changed and revised. Unfortunately, in some revivals it has gotten more aggressively gay. The song Two Ladies with one woman and one man in drag has been done that way before in a prior revival. With two women it is quite charming; with this approach it loses its humor and becomes aggressively lewd. This is one of many examples of using aggressiveness instead of finesse. The blame should go to the director, not the actors, who are following direction. It is unfortunate that the Signature Theater could not resist the trend to crudeness.

    Deadly Serious Debauchery

    by 3WiseOwls on 6/10/15Signature Theatre - Arlington

Raunchy and lascivious to an extent impossible in earlier versions or the film, this Cabaret provides more than sufficient insight into one vignette on how Hitler was able to gobble up Germany, and ultimately destroy the Europe that had taken half a millenium to create. Superbly energetic cast, staging, and music. Required viewing for anyone concerned that it can't happen again elsewhere.

Love the music, dance, venue, act, story and everything. The senior actor and actresses were the highlights for me - love their act very much. If you plan to go, get the table! so much fun to have them sing and dance besides you!

Very talented cast. Music was great. It's a dark subject, though.

    Don't miss this show!

    by Schatzi8 on 6/5/15Signature Theatre - Arlington

From start to finish, this was superb! The singing, dancing, acting, staging was excellent and inventive. The venue is so intimate there isn't a bad seat in the house, and they make you feel part of the performance. Best play I've seen on or off Broadway in I can't remember when! Loved it and sent emails to friends to get tickets before it's sold out!

Powerful Adult Version of a Great Musical

by TheatreFrog on 6/3/15Signature Theatre - Arlington

I have seen Cabaret twice in live performances along with the movie. Signature Theater took this production to the next level. Their recreation of the Weimar Berlin nightlife scene was engaging and immersive. The characters were fully developed and the singing was excellent. The Kit Kat Club dancers were HOT!!!. While I truly enjoyed the performances of Wesley Taylor as emcee and Barrett Wilbert Reed as Sally Bowles, I want to especailly callout Naomi Jacobson's take on Fraulein Schneider. Her performance was simply outstanding on every level.

Cabaret at Signature is a must see!

by DCJean on 6/2/15Signature Theatre - Arlington

Broadway quality show with an intimate theatre means you're right there at the Kit Kat club! Not appropriate for children. My 12 year old was blushing at moments. Everything about the show and venue is superb!

    Stellar performance

by NOVAtheaterfan on 5/27/15Signature Theatre - Arlington

This is my third time seeing a show at the Signature theater, and once again the performance was remarkable! The acting and singing in the show were incredible, and the structure of the theater allows everyone to have a great up close seat. I am so glad I had the opportunity to see the show.

    Cabaret

    by FreedomLover69 on 5/26/15Signature Theatre - Arlington

Barrett Wilson Weed (Sally Bowles) saved the show for me. Wesley Taylor (MC) was awful, he overdid the part with his strutting, His over the top performance was hideous. He was totally out of the part for 1930's Berlin. He acted as if he was in La Cage Aux Folles. Rick Foucheux was very good, as was Naomi Jacobson.

    Exceeded My Expectations

    by Janos0531 on 5/26/15Signature Theatre - Arlington

As a hard-core New Yorker with Broadway experience, I was expecting to see a better-than-average community theater production. I was pleasantly surprised. Wesley Taylor as the emcee was excellent as were veterans Naomi Jacobson as Fraulein Schneider and Rick Foucheux as Herr Schultz. Would I recommend to friends? Yes. Would I go a second time. Yes.

    Better than Broadway!

    by MBEB3 on 5/26/15Signature Theatre - Arlington

Have seen this performance again and it's even better the second time. The actors and choreography are better than the movie or broadway. Wesley Taylor is perfect and absolutely wonderful in his role as the emcee and Barrett Wilbert Weed is an unforgettable Sally Bowles. Don't miss it!

If you can still get tickets -- go! Powerful show. Great performances by all, but especially good is the emcee.
