About

Alex More has a story to tell. A struggling actor in L.A., Alex takes a job working in the mall in Barbra Streisand's Malibu basement. One day, the Lady Herself comes downstairs to play. It feels like real bonding in the basement, but will their relationship ever make it upstairs? BUYER & CELLAR is an outrageous comedy about the price of fame, the cost of things, and the oddest of odd jobs.
The New York Times critics Ben Brantley and Charles Isherwood recently raved about the play. Brantley wrote that Buyer & Cellar is "the most talked about new comedy of the season." WQXR Radio's Isherwood called the hit comedy "very funny" and "a tour-de-force performance."

    Not what we expected

by Xraylfh on 5/10/14Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

I'm not a huge fan of one man shows. However, that was not the problem here, as the star put on a great performance. I think my wife and I felt that there were perhaps a few too many inside jokes about Barbara, the gays and Yiddish for us to fully appreciate the material. Also, to be honest, at the end I really didn't know what the "moral" of the story was. Is Barbara lonely? Did our hero learn some great insight? I just wasn't sure.

Michael Urie is ball of energy! Great!

I came into this show with no expectations but I am SO glad that I went. Michael Urie was a force with so much energy and incredible acting. I was dying of laughter throughout. The premise of this show is so absurd that it works really well! Would highly recommend!
