  • Not impressed.

by Marie H. on 2/2/24Gas South Arena - DuluthRating: 2 out of 5

We went to the PBR last year (Jan 2023) at Gas South Arena and comparing this to that, no where near the same caliber. This event had bull riding, barrell racing, bull fighting and concert with 3 different artists. Starting with the Bull riding - not impressed. Bulls were small and seemed tame compared to other events we've been too. There were few riders even comparable to other events, and most seemed inexperienced and barely made it out of the chute before bailing off the bulls. Bull fighting - eh, semi-ok. One of the four guys was good, but the rest just ran around. Other events similar to this, the fighters were jumping over the bulls and being all up on them and the bulls were much larger, not these guys. Barrel Racing - I've never saw a barrel race event where no where no one entered a time below 13.9 until now - Usually there are some with faster times, etc. Again, not impressed - and hope the one lady and her horse are ok after they fell completely over rounding the first barrel. Very few rounded barrels without knocking them over or having to grab them to keep them from falling. Don't think they had enough running room, in my opinion. Concerts - Started with Alexandra Kay - then to Sam Barber and the main performer Warren Zeiders... would have been great if you could understand any of them. The background music was so loud that you couldn't hear them singing unless there was no background music. Speakers hung in the way for lower level seats, unable to see stage. Warren kept stopping between songs as if he was having issues, unsure what was going on. Over all music would have been good had you been able to understand what was being sung. Even the speaking portions when there was no music was hard to understand. We had good seats in the upper portion of 105. This was the main reason I got tickets was for the music, so to say disappointed would be an understatement. The best thing about the music was each performer was on for at least half an hour - would have been nice to actually hear & understand it. Venue needs to do better for events like that especially when you pay over $100 a ticket.

  • BBB review

by Michael on 2/1/24Gas South Arena - DuluthRating: 4 out of 5

I thought the idea of bringing together a rodeo and country concert was a fantastic idea! It didn't disappoint. The lineup for the rodeo and the way it was handled was top notch. The bands/talent was top notch too. The only reason for a 4 star review was the sound. The sound system didn't do a great job of bringing out the singers voices. All three have strong voices and the sound and speakers didn't do the greatest job of bringing that out. I would still recommend going to a BBB event and would go back myself!

  • Rodeo Yes Concert No

    by JRM1 on 1/30/24Gas South Arena - DuluthRating: 3 out of 5

Was looking forward to this for a while The rodeo portion was great with the exception of the announcers- could not be understood in the second level. This lead to what was probably the worst concert I have ever seen here. The speaker set up was COMPLETELY WRONG. The normal speaker set up for concerts here is great however, for this show the speakers ( they did not use the normal set up)were aiming straight towards the arena floor area. They did invite everyone down to the floor but if you wanted to sit back and listen from your seats in the 200s you could not understand a word. Imaging listening to a show wearing hearing protection. All you got was muffled sound. Walked down to see the difference and yes on the floor you could understand the words etc. Unless you were willing to relocate to the floor the concert portion was a TOTAL BUST. DEFINITELY would not do again. PBR Unleash The Beast had a much better set up for music BBB for Rodeo is a YES for a concert it’s a H*#$ NO

  • The show

by Tim on 1/30/24Gas South Arena - DuluthRating: 4 out of 5

Announcer talked too much during the rodeo. Good concert but 5+ hours too long

  • Horrible seats

by Disappointed on 1/30/24Gas South Arena - DuluthRating: 2 out of 5

The seats we got were horrible. We were not informed a big Busch beer banner was going to block our view so we didn't get to see any of the bull riding then when it was time for the music they put down a big black curtain so we couldn't even see the music from our seats. Very disappointed pretty much paid for tickets just to see Bartel racing

  • A fun night - not your everyday rodeo.

by Dano on 1/30/24Gas South Arena - DuluthRating: 4 out of 5

Was a fun night at this great venue. Personally, I think a bit short on rodeo and a bit long on music.

  • Would go again

by Defbullwatcher on 1/30/24Gas South Arena - DuluthRating: 3 out of 5

Really enjoyed this event with my family of 5. Tickets were reasonable priced for the quality and length of entertainment. Really enjoyed the rodeo events and watching the bulls, but the music fell short of our expectations. Not sure if it was the set up or how the speakers were positioned but we could not understand the lyrics they were singing. If we could make out the name of the sound we would try to look up the lyrics to follow along. We decided to move closer to the stage and found seats just to the side. It was even worse. Fans were allowed to enter the arena floor and we might should have and it would have been better. Over all a great event just wish we could have heard the songs more clearly over the loud music.

  • Very fun

by Sierra on 1/30/24Gas South Arena - DuluthRating: 4 out of 5

The venue was very clean and well labeled signs to know where you are going! Loved the music and bull riding all in one night ♥️

  • Great BB horrible band setup

    by Alicia194 on 1/30/24Gas South Arena - DuluthRating: 3 out of 5

The over all bulls and barrels was great! The bands setup was horrible. We set in section 205 and anyone sitting in 203-209 couldn’t see the band due to a line of speakers in the way. It was horrible. We paid a better price for tickets for better view and did not get that for the bands.

  • Incredible experience!

    by Joe2 on 1/30/24Gas South Arena - DuluthRating: 5 out of 5

This event was absolutely incredible! Everything from the bull riding, to barrel racing and the concert was so exciting! We were also so impressed with Sam Barber! He took pictures with my daughters and we will forever be fans of Sam Barber and Bulls, Bands and Barrels!

  • Great!

It was an awesome show! Just wish the beer prices weren’t so high

  • Be careful where your seat is

by CM on 1/30/24Gas South Arena - DuluthRating: 2 out of 5

We bought tickets and could hardly see anything due to the chute structure, so just be cautious of where you sit. There should have been a warning of this when purchasing tickets.

  • Just OK

by Mimi on 1/30/24Gas South Arena - DuluthRating: 3 out of 5

The barrel racing was excellent, but the bull riding left a lot to be desired. We enjoyed the live bull fighting as we had never seen that in person. We left when the first band started. The sound quality was not great, and it took too long to set up for allowing people to be in the arena. That didn't seem really necessary. Lots of time could have been saved by flowing directly into the concert portion. Definitely not the level of excitement and quality of bull riding that you see at PBR events, but we didn't come expecting it to be either.

  • Worst sound ever

by JenniA on 1/30/24Gas South Arena - DuluthRating: 1 out of 5

This venue is amazing. Parking is a breeze. The event itself was great. The sound system was the worst I have ever experienced. Could not hear a single word of what anyone was saying or singing. So disappointed.

  • Great Event

    by jojemo2000 on 1/30/24Gas South Arena - DuluthRating: 4 out of 5

Overall an excellent event. Venue was great and safe. Parking was good. For the most part it was a family event. I took my entire family. 8yr old, 11, 15,16, and 20 year old. Except for a few expletives during the concert, it was truly a "family"event. The rodeo was awesome. Bull riding and Bull fighting - I mean "c'mon"!! They were running a little late on getting the concert started, so it made for a very late night for us. I would recommend (and already have) to any age group.

  • IT WAS AWESOME!

    by Stickylips1 on 1/30/24Gas South Arena - DuluthRating: 5 out of 5

This was a real awesome time! I wore my new cowgirl boots, black cowgirl hat and denim jacket! I also brought along my BBF who scored some free drinks coupons! She later told me, she hasn't been to a rodeo since her father took her when she was a little girl! It was really amazing to watch her eyes light up during some of the competitions! She is dying to return for the next show and bring her family! I was also grateful that the rain held off long enough for us to walk from the parking deck to the arena! The bands were nice, but the people watching was top notch! She and I both had a fun time! The best rodeo I've been to in a while! #funtimes #bandsbarrelbandbulls #gassoutharena

  • Awesome time!

by Katie on 1/30/24Gas South Arena - DuluthRating: 5 out of 5

Can’t wait until next year! It was a blast! Me and my daughter had the best time at the rodeo and concert! It was an experience of a lifetime!!

  • Excitng Event!

by Dawn on 1/30/24Gas South Arena - DuluthRating: 4 out of 5

My husband and I hadn't been to a rodeo event in decades. We had so much fun, but were very disappointed in the sound system/acoustics at the Gas South Arena. We were in Section 207 and felt like we had excellent seats and could see very well. We had fun. However, we could only understand one out of ten words the "ringmaster"was saying. It was loud, mabye too loud and garbled. We go to a lot of large events, at least 10-12 per year, and never had this type of experience with acoustics or the sound system. It was very disappointing and in fact we left after the bull riding and barrell racing ended becasue the very first song the band played was hard to hear/understand too. Not sure if it was the venue or the BBB equipment, but we're hesitant to return to Gas South Arena and thought you should have an honest review.

  • A little better than the PBR!

by Laurie on 1/30/24Gas South Arena - DuluthRating: 5 out of 5

This was an awesome event! I say a little better than the PBR because there was so much more! Barrel Racing (could have been longer), Bull Riding, Bull Fighting and a huge concert at the end. The atmosphere was electric. Now the bull riders were not the best of the best as the PBR riders are, but they were giving it their all. The concerts were great. Needs to be less down time between acts. One thing I didn't like was at the end of the first round of bull riding the audience was told to go take a break and they would resume shortly. Lines were quite long at concessions. I wasn't out of my seat no more than 5 minutes and they started up the barrel racing. I was very disappointed. The barrel racing was short as it was, but I missed the first three as we were told to go take a break. But overall, I really loved the whole concept. We were their first stop of 2024. I'm sure they will only improve.
