    Buju and Shabba Fantastic

by Champion on 8/10/09WaMu Theater At Madison Square Garden - New York

Saw this show on Friday. Buju was his usually - great. He always puts on a great show. really got the audience moving. Good vibes. Enjoyed seeing Shabba Ranks - he was the man back in the day. Love to watch him dance. Wished he sang more of his older songs like Wicked in Bed & XRated but I don't think he is into the slack lyrics anymore - he still sounds great. Thumbs up to Tony Rebel and Burning Spear Had a fantastic time - money well spent

What? No respect for Burning Spear?

by Spearfan on 8/10/09WaMu Theater At Madison Square Garden - New York

The show started off great, until Burning Spear entered the stage. The crowd had no respect for the roots legend. After experiencing many magical Spear shows, I could not believe my eyes when the crowd failed to acknowlege him or his music. The prom dressed crowd must only listen to dancehall music. Obviously, the fan base at this show was not the same fan base that patronizes the music scene.

Buju and friends were great !!!!

by wiserc on 8/9/09WaMu Theater At Madison Square Garden - New York

This event was a great experience. The value of "old school" played off throughout the show and was an inspiration to the audience who all responded by singing along. Nice to see Shabba Ranks ... Burning Spear.....Morgan Heritage....Tony Rebel ( saying it like it really is)and the man himself Buju Banton. Thanks to a moment of "Michael Jackson" infusion.... Respect to all the artists.

Buju was great. Shabba is the man

by dannieboi on 8/9/09WaMu Theater At Madison Square Garden - New York

Didn't catch most of the opening acts but Buju was great. I just wish he didnt pull up so much but that's the style of Jamaica artists. Loved Shabba's performance. Took me back man. Was great. I would see both Buju and Shabba in concert again.

Buju and Friends amazing...David shut yu mouth

by Richrancher on 8/9/09WaMu Theater At Madison Square Garden - New York

Considering that the Caribbean community is a major contributor to the diversity of culture that exists in NYC, I was very happy to see MSG filled with people who love Jamaican music. The audience interacted with the artists in a personal way and visa versa. It was a wonderful event that I wish more people could afford to experience. I was particularly inspired by the vocal range and positive vibes of the Queen, totally entertained by Tony Rebel's stagecraft, uplifted by the energy of "old boy" Burning Spear, mesmerized by the professionalism of the high stepping Buju, and very happy to see the evolution of Shaba as a seasoned performer, ranking him as one of the best ever from Jamaica. This was a great show, and I give some "big ups" to David Levy. However next time he should cut out the sexual jokes. We had a few kids in the audience. Next time David, play some CD's between band change. Kibba yu mouth.

    Buju is Always on Point

by Yogy on 8/9/09WaMu Theater At Madison Square Garden - New York

Buju has the ability to make you literally feel his music. He is the greatest! I really only went to see him and Shabba Ranks, but Queen Ifrica and Tony Rebel were extremely entertaining too. The show was better than last year's because it kept going rather than having breaks after every performance.

    Fireball of a concert!

by Dhskee on 8/9/09WaMu Theater At Madison Square Garden - New York

We were blown away. On time, perfectly orchestrated, jam packed excitement, incredible guests! The intensity was there from Kayla Bliss right on thru to the end of Buju's last set. Every star was amazing. It felt like a once in a lifetime gathering. Queen Ifrica was a revelation - fierce!! Only one minor let down - the dj rambled into sexist kind of talk, which a number of us women along the line in the front row talked about and were unhappy with. We knew he had a hard job handling the breaks, set changes etc. but he could have gone in a different direction with his creativity. We were mesmerized by the whole concert, and will be thinking and bragging about being there for a long time to come!

    Very Disappointed!!!!!!!!!!

by caribbeangal on 8/9/09WaMu Theater At Madison Square Garden - New York

This was my first time going to a Buju concert. I really expected more. Very disappointed. Rather spend that kind of money to see Machel Montano instead.

    Buju and Friends

by KeePooh1 on 8/9/09WaMu Theater At Madison Square Garden - New York

It was so nice. The crowd and the performers were Oh so Great!!! Just wish Shabba would have continued his performance,He has to realize that even if he's is one of the Best, he''s been out of the game for a minute. Shabba that was very childish of you and your performance should have continued. Next time keep it professional and give the people what they came and wanted to see. Buju Thank You for a Great! performance this Year you really gave us our money worth ,Thats the BUJU I know and Love

    buju banton show

by petenyce10 on 8/8/09WaMu Theater At Madison Square Garden - New York

all the proformances were great, but i felt that it was rushed. tony rebels set was too short, as was everyone elses, buju put on a great show as usuall but i felt a bit jiped because buju wasn't on stage long enough. So in short all the acts put on great proformances, but none of them proformed long enough. Not at a $99.50 ticket price

    Buju and friends

by appled on 8/8/09WaMu Theater At Madison Square Garden - New York

The show was just excellent. Shabba tore up the place. He is a master. Buju is such an excellent performer with great command of the entire stage; he had the crowd entertained from the beginning to the end of the show. The show was worth every penny I paid. Thank you Buju, keep up the good work. It was my first time seeing you in concert. appled
