The Buick Open was a grand event! Getting in and out of the event was a non-event and much appreciated. The grounds were immaculate and the course in perfect shape. We were able to go where we wanted to go although we did kind of avoid the huge crowd around Tiger most of the time. When we wanted to see Tiger we positioned ourselves ahead of time and had no problem seeing him. The facilities (restrooms) were very well maintained and there were plenty of them (thank you!). It was a thoroughly enjoyable day and I've been telling everyone how great it was! Thank you!!!
Tickets only cost $15 a piece and I got to see some fantastic shots, and perhaps the greatest golfer ever -- Tiger Woods. I went in 2008 too, and even without Tiger it was a fun time. I think next year I may go on Saturday though instead of Sunday so the crowds are not so large. The best thing about being at a live golf tournament is getting close to the greens in order to see the approach shots and good wedge/putting play. I expect it to be easier to get close to the green on Saturday.
It was good to be back at the Buick Open at Warwick Hills. The parking is set up well, the services and facilities is adequate and the environment is friendly. It is very nice to have an opportunity to see the PGA Pros in their environment. I would definitely go again, if its offered.
I really enjoyed watching the pros play in person. It is amazing how far they can hit the ball. You just don't get the same effect on TV. My recommendation is you find a hole and stay there to watch, as the crowd will follow Tiger, so if you want to see him you need to be ahead of the crowd and wait.
Parking was great and getting shuttle was easy. The golf course was truly great...so sorry that the tournament won't be there anymore. I think the group of fans/staff/volunteers was superior...politeness and everyone appeared to be "in it" no matter who was on the green. The concession bucks were great as we only had to pay another $3 for a nice picnic lunch.
WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR WONDERFUL WHETHER,GREAT PEOPLE,WELL DONE, AND WAS ABLE TO SEE TIGER WOODS WIN FOR MY FIRST TIME.
Attending the Buick Open in person provides you with close access to their event. It was great to watch Tiger Woods tee off from only ten feet away! There were also lots of nice extra attractions, such as getting my golf swing analyized for free! the Clubhouse pass also provides access to good restaurants and the silent auction. The parking and shuttle bus service ran flawlessly and I can not find anything at all to complain about!
PGA... Do NOT let this event leave. We have the best fans. Hole 17 rocks.
This is the 5th year of attending the Buick Open, and as usual it was great from start to finish. We parked at the high school for $10. This price includes an air-conditioned motor coach ride to and from the venue. They drop you off at the front gate and you could walk right in…except they only had 1 security person. When you walk in, the practice driving range is right there and it is so cool to watch the players practice with their coaches. Then you can watch them on the practice green, also very neat. When you get on the coarse you can stand so close to players as they hit their shots. You really get a good feeling for how talented these players are! This event will be greatly missed!
Perhaps the last Buick Open. Could it have been more dramatic? Possibly, yes. But then, they can't all be gems. Tiger did not disappoint, nor did the next batch of young guns. It's all good for the game. I hope the venue continues (good for Buick, GM, and Michigan).
This was my first time at a PGA Tour event! It was really great! I wish I had been given more information about LaCrosse Landing. There were so many people following Tiger but it was exciting. We sat in the bleachers at #17 and that was a lot of fun watching all the players come through, especially when Tiger sank a long putt on that hole! I would definitely go again.
For a duffer, like me, it is so much fun to see golf played in a professional way. It is also heartening to see the pros make the same mistake that I might make (just not so many as I would make!) When you watch golf on TV they only show you the great shots so you start to believe that the pros only make great shots or great putts. Watching golf live you get the true sense that one, everybody struggles at this game and two, we all need to practice more if weexpect to play better. I t is sad to hear that the Buick Open will be no more. We understand as corporate costs must be cut in order for an auto company to survive. But, having attended this event for many years I can honestly say that for the fans on site and for the pros in the field - it will be missed.
Awesome golf event that should be retained for next year and subsequent years!!
Well worth the 35.00. Only sport where you can reach out and touch the players for the whole event.
