I went opening night and I am attributing the lack of enthusiasm of the cast and audience to opening night jitters. It was a rainy and the first cool night of the season. The sound was off, the actors were off, and the audience was not responsive. There were many opportunities to get the audience involved. Finally the audience participated during the last scene. First time I have been disappointed. I heard the Wednesday night performance was much better.
Good actors bad script. Didn't appreciate the comedic s approach to his life. Pretty disappointing.
. I honestly don’t believe I’ve ever witness the lead character as poorly cast as with “Buddy”. The microphone was turned off when he sang. Supporting actors were given loud, enthusiastic “round of applause”!! While I did not expect the production to equal the “Buddy Story” on the London stage, I did expect it to be presentable!!!
Very entertaining. We laughed a lot. The music was awesome. Thought I might be a little disappointed, but was not. A great show.
This was my least favorite of the "jukebox musicals" that I have seen. The pace was slow and the plot/"gags" predictable. The quality of the sound was intermittent - portions of lines/lyrics were lost as the system did not amplify them. Some was from tech issues -others appeared to be mic technique. It became a major distractor The plus side - the cast was excellent musically. It was obvious they were hired for their musical ability - not their acting ability. It reminded us of cruise ship performances. Pretty good musically - but in this case - not worth the price of admission. To prove the point - several people left at intermission not to return
The songs were good, the production levels had a hard time keeping up with a "High School" musical....sad.
The acting was great and the music was awesome! I'd recommend it.
Buddy Holly was upbeat and energetic. It was amazing to see how many of the performers were multi-talented and gifted with the musical arts. It was funny, inspiring, and factual. Todd Meredith did an outstanding job as the charismatic and tenacious Buddy Holly...leaving us all with the sad feeling of loss at a young person's enthusiasm for life cut way too short and leaving us still grateful for the musical tunes that are still known today due to this performer.
The entire show was wonderful! Great sound and music, well worth the money!
Music & Show was Great- Very nice theatre right in downtown area. Buddy was Great- Wonderful songs
Great show...thoroughly enjoyable! Highly recommend.
Great show. Great cast. Would highly recommend this performance to be attended by our friends.
Low cost props. Weak dialogue. Repeat songs. It seems there was a neat story to be told that did not come through at all.
Buddy Holly was superb!! The entire family had a great time!!!
The sound was off, could nit understand the singer's. A lot of technical difficulties.
Buddy Holly Story was amazing. The actor were fantastic.
The show was everything I expected and more. The music was very good and the cast was very good.
Bought these tickets for my parents. They can' t stop talking about how wonderful this show was. Would highly reccomend.
The Rock and Roll music was fabulous. Some of the dialogue got a little boring. THE singing and dancing were just superb. An evening well spent. THe finale was just over the top. It had me jumping in my seat.
