About

BTS in Concert

BTS, an acronym of Bangtan Sonyeondan or "Beyond the Scene", is a South Korean boy band that has been capturing the hearts of millions of fans globally since their debut in June 2013. The members of BTS are RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook. Gaining recognition from their authentic, self-produced music and top-notch performances to the way they interact with their fans, the band has established themselves as global superstars breaking countless world records. While imparting a positive influence through activities such as the Love Myself campaign and the UN ‘Speak Yourself' speech, BTS has mobilized millions of fans across the world (named ARMY), topped prominent music charts, sold out worldwide tours including stadiums and has been named as one of TIME 100: The Most Influential People of 2019. The band has also been recognized with numerous prestigious awards like the Billboard Music Awards and American Music Awards.

BTS are serious performers with a sense of humor. They're also K-pop chart-toppers who've shattered boundaries across the world. A BTS show includes fantastic costume changes, over-the-top visuals (which often include the crowd), and a mix of rap club bangers, EDM pop, and R&B. The band first toured Japan in 2015 on the Summer Sonic Festival and Wake Up: Open Your Eyes tours. Later that year, they took their brilliance global with The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: On Stage tour. They followed that in 2017 with the Live Trilogy Episode III: The Wings tour and 2018's BTS World Tour: Love Yourself. If you're not a member of the BTS Army yet, don't worry — it's just a matter of time.

BTS were formed by Korea's Big Hit Entertainment in 2010, though the lineup wasn't finalized until 2013. They align themselves with teens who are targets of criticism, stereotyping, and expectations, and they established their name with the "school trilogy" EPs in 2013 and 2014. Their first single was "No More Dream." In the fall of 2014, they released their first full album, ‘Dark & Wild,' and by 2015, the group began to make waves internationally: ‘The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Pt. 2' topped six international charts for four weeks. BTS were the first K-pop act ever to achieve such a feat, and the firsts didn't end there. In 2017, their EP ‘Love Yourself: Her' debuted in the Billboard 200's Top 10, the first K-pop album to do so. They won Top Social Artist at the Billboard Awards in both 2017 and 2018, thanks in part to a record-breaking volume of video views. In 2018, ‘Love Yourself: Tear' was the first foreign-language album to top the Billboard 200 in over 10 years. Then ‘Love Yourself: Answer' did it again, just months later. The K-pop juggernaut is unstoppable: The band has appeared on the cover of ‘Time Magazine,' and won a truckful of awards: Melon Music Awards, Seoul Music Awards, Gaon Chart Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, Korean Music Awards, and more.

Best concert I've been to so far

by NicknameAnonymousWasGone on 7/28/15Rosemont Theatre - Rosemont

There was a lot of energy and BTS was a lot of fun to watch! They definitely can sing, dance, and rap well live as well as when they are recorded. The venue was nice as well, and we still had a good view of the stage even though we were way in the back. The one thing that bothered me was how loud everyone was being when BTS was talking (and sometimes when they were performing), but that's just something that comes along with having a lot of excited fans, I guess. Overall, I would highly recommend seeing them, and I would definitely go see another BTS show!

    BTS Red Bullet in Chicago

    by KPop10 on 7/27/15Rosemont Theatre - Rosemont

The show was quite good. The young men are very good entertainers. Their dance moves were well choreographed and executed. I was surprised at how well they sang. Good harmonies. The only drawback was the extreme volume. I am sure it did permanent damage to unprotected ears. Good visual effects.

    The best thing ever

by Bangtanlover on 7/27/15Rosemont Theatre - Rosemont

This concert was the first kpop concert I've ever been to, and it has certainly set the bar high for other kpop groups. This was the best thing that has ever happened to me. I don't think I've ever been so excited in my life. Wish it could happen all over again. Everyday.

After waiting for BTS to come to the U.S. I was so excited they were coming to Chicago! The venue was very nice inside! Security was alright. The concert was amazing! They did have a long VCR for the whole theme of the concert and although it wasn't technically necessary to be so long, I won't complain because the boys looked VERY attractive in the videos. I loved the credits VCR and the...heart-wrenching VCR that showed clips from the beginning to the present. The boys killed it. They definitely kept us entertain and their choreography in person is wayyyyy deadlier than through a computer screen. The crowd was loud, the boys were happy. It was a great event. I can't wait for EPISODE III !

    Seriously Hype!

by thrustsehun on 7/27/15Rosemont Theatre - Rosemont

This is actually the first concert I have ever been to and seeing Bangtan Boys for my first experience is the best thing any fan could have. Everything was loud with heavy bass. The flashing lights and effects were amazing. The boys kept the "turnt up" feel for the 2 straight hours of the concert. They were all funny, fun, and happy. All of the things BTS did was memorable. We sang along to their songs, chant with the rest of the audience, waved our hands, jumped, etc. They also teased us about our Korean singing and it was hilarious. There was a lot of fan service as well. The boys sang most of their songs on all of the albums. Oh my goshhh, there's a lot more to say. I really wish we could have take pictures and videos. It would be even more memorable but it was forbidden :(

    BTS was perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by Sadye on 7/27/15Rosemont Theatre - Rosemont

It was everything I expected. They had so much energy and they kept interacting with the fans. The songs organization was perfect. You kept thinking the concert was over, but it wasn't. I'm so thankful for seeing Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Rap Monster, V, Jimin, and Jungkook perform. The video showing their struggles of working to get to where they are was so touching. I was really hoping for a Hi-touch ticket, but being in the presence of them and seeing them for myself was everything. I hope they come back to the U.S.A, I'd die to see them again.

    BTS must come back again!

by diaryanjo on 7/27/15Rosemont Theatre - Rosemont

The staff were friendly and professional when handling us (rabid fans). They were well organized and security checked everything to make sure the event was safe; considering what happened at the New York concert with BTS prior to this concert in Chicago. They wouldn't allow us to bring in snacks or drinks (including alcoholic beverages) inside the theater. So we had to finish those in the lobby but it is understandable. The lighting was epic like a real KPOP concert would be in South Korea! They even had confetti and streamers popping at out during highlights of the concert. The band itself was amazing! It was unbelievable that they were just here in the USA. I would love to see them come back and have them work with the great staff at the Rosemont Theater!

    Perfect

by JazzyDae on 7/27/15Rosemont Theatre - Rosemont

I'm just going to put what I wrote on my tumblr with a few tweeks... Where so I even start? I mean it was after all my first ever concert and I was so nervous and just thinking about it makes my heart pound a little. . Even though merch wasn’t being sold fans made their own stuff and gave it away and I just thought that was the sweetest thing ever. Isn’t that what k-pop is about? Getting together and showing your love for the group together? There was even several banners given out that we were instructed to hold up during specific songs (Let Me Know, Attack on Bangtan, and I NEED U) to show our love and support for the boys. I thought that was amazing. When getting into the concert we all had to go different ways because we all had different seats. One of the people who I had talked to earlier was a row behind me, but they ended up switching seats with the person next to me because that person wanted to be next to their friend. So we chilled together for the concert (sorry I hit you with my BTS bomb light stick, dude ;-; ). We chatted before the concert and everyone was SO hype before the show even started, for ten minutes we chanted “BTS, BTS, BTS,” on and off until it started. When it started the screaming was defeaning, the boys hadn’t even come out yet and it was just the video they were showing, the back story of BTS. How they came across bulletproof vests and destroyed the tyrant teacher. When the boys came on stage it was amazing. I was hoping in person they wouldn’t be as good looking in real life…but they looked better. Oh my god, Jin and Jimin tho, my babies. They performed N.O. and it was FLAWLESS. After the first two songs they introduced themselves cutely in English…or well, Engrish (except Rap Mon). When Teahyung introduced himself he was like “I AM TEAHYUNG” and everyone screamed, then when we got quiet he was like “Hi!” all cutely. Jin and Jimin have the cutest voices when they speak English, very dainty, cute to listen to. My sweet boys. When they had to decide who was to do aegyo everyone was screaming for Jungkook to do it and they boys did rock, paper, scissors to pick out who it was and it was Jungkook funnily enough. His aegyo was terrible and I laughed. Then Suga did it even thought he didn’t have to and it was SO SO SO SO cute! He came for my soul that entire concert! I went in thinking after this I’d know who to pick between Jin and Jimin and Suga came out of no where and tried to snatch my soul. Damn. His blond hair in person is A+++++++++++++++ btw. They were really surprised we sang along in Korean too. When we did the karaoke part, we mumble a few lines and Rap Mon, Hobi, and Jimin laughed at us. However I mainly wanna fight J-Hope because he kept teasing us. Square up, Hobi, if you come back we are gonna duke it out, don’t make fun of our terrible Korean when you speak engrish. When Cypher Pt. 3: Killer came on it was sick as hell, holy shit. Once again Min Yoongi coming for my soul, I am not even Yoongi biased! The visuals they had on the screen were so pleasing to the eyes. Even if it was a lot of blood. That’s okay, I like that kinda shit. Also I swear at one point Suga was looking at me and I needed to catch my soul. I mean the odds are like -43278578932 but it felt like he was looking at me. I was just so impressed by them, they didn’t even look tired by the end of the concert! I loved the little video at the end when it showed pre-debut Bangtan working so hard. Even the messages, one I remember was saying how they worked hard until they collapsed, sang until their voices gave out and it was so emotional. I got misty eyed. Then when they were thanking us one last time and dancing around to I NEED U once more, everyone just sang along. I don’t think Jin wanted to leave because he was the last to go, aww, sweet little princess. I was so impressed by my fellow ARMYs there because they were so respectful and everyone was just so in sync. Rap Mon was also impressed and shocked that there were so many fans present. He didn’t think that many would be there. All seats that had been available were filled. It was so perfect. I still can’t believe I saw them, I never thought I would. If they come back next year, I really hope to get a hi-touch. The video they showed at the end said “To be continued…” so I’m hoping… Also shout out to the parents and grandparents that got dragged along who didn’t want to be there. I’m sure you made your child/grandchild’s entire life. Another shout out to SubKulture for making this a wonderful show, the staff was amazing. You guys did an awesome job, thank you! The ARMYs really, really, really appreciate your hard work!

    AMAZING SHOW

by Ektambo on 7/27/15Rosemont Theatre - Rosemont

This is by far the greatest concert experience I've ever had. I've been to a lot of concerts before, but this was my first K-POP concert. Even just waiting in line surrounded by other fans was an experience in itself!! The Rosemont was a really nice venue, and my friend and I had really great seats. BTS was absolutely amazing live, and honestly, I don't think I've ever gotten into a concert as much as I got into theirs. I am actually sore from jumping and cheering and dancing along! And the show itself was so lengthy--more than three hours! BTS put on an amazing show that I will NEVER forget.

by madiiiiiiii on 7/27/15Rosemont Theatre - Rosemont

honestly, not even being biased, but one of the best concerts I've ever been to. definitely the loudest. the venue was organized and well kept and not too small but small enough for an intimate concert experience. it was a dream for me to finally see my favorite group of 2 years and my husband park jimin live and in person, and even better that the venue was awesome!

    Absolutely blown away by BTS.

by jessiica on 7/27/15Rosemont Theatre - Rosemont

I'm not going to be fake and even say that I was a fan of the Bangtan Boys before the concert. I know some of their songs and I know each member, but that's really it. Frankly, the only reason I had even bought tickets to go was because my little sister is a huge fan and kpop idols hardly ever come near where we live, so I figured, why not. I did not expect to be crying at all and boy did I. To see them on stage felt so surreal and, amazing. It was crazy to think that I knew who they were, but I never really got too into them, until that night. The dedication from the fans was just so beautiful and everyone around my sister and I were such sweethearts. You'll never experience the love from a kpop concert anywhere else. And yes, I have joined the Bangtan Army.

    BTS was dope as heck

by kpopgirl on 7/27/15Rosemont Theatre - Rosemont

We were late to the concert, which sucked but meant that we skipped the lines. The concert. was. amazing. All the BTS members looked way taller and more built than I thought they would and OMG Rap Mon. They all perform so beautifully live. It's actually not fair. Go to a BTS concert. They're so hype. Yes, everybody's a dork. That's what makes them special pineapples. The two best things about going to this concert was 1) getting to interact (as part of the crowd) with BTS and seeing how happy they were that we were so happy to see them and 2) the energy. ARMY power.
