About

Bryan Ferry in Concert

When it comes to debonair British crooners, Bryan Ferry has the market pretty well cornered, now in his fifth decade as one of the country's most celebrated and stylish pop stars. As beloved for his work with art rock band Roxy Music as he is for his solo material, the ever-dapper Ferry is a consummate performer, known for his silky voice, ladykiller looks, and come-hither stage presence. With a North American tour and Coachella appearance scheduled for 2014, Ferry has fans of all ages eagerly waiting to be seduced by his wily charms.

Bryan Ferry on Tour

Ferry formed Roxy Music in 1970 with several friends and acquaintances, among them a young Brian Eno, the now-legendary producer of David Bowie fame.  Between 1972 and 1982 the band released eight albums, topping the UK Albums Chart three times and racking up a slew of hit singles including "Jealous Guy" and "Love Is the Drug." In addition to continuing to front the band, Ferry has maintained an impressive solo career, releasing 14 solo albums over the last four decades. A true showman, Ferry continues to tour, lending his treasured voice to Roxy Music classics, hits from his solo catalog, and covers of artists ranging from Bob Dylan to The Beach Boys.

    The man sets a mood.

by BfloRhodes on 10/5/11Music Center at Strathmore - N. Bethesda

One of the local DJs (WHFS) used to call Bryan Ferry "the coolest man of the '70s, '80s, and now the '90s. The show exudes cool. The band is superior. To see it at the Strathmore was sublime. Played a few too many covers - "Like a Hurricane", "All Along the Watchtower", "Jealous Guy". "Jealous Guy" was, however, magnificent. The covers were good, but I would have preferred more Bryan Ferry or Roxy Music. If you're a fan, see this show.

    Mediocre at Best

by Readergrl on 10/5/11Music Center at Strathmore - N. Bethesda

First off, the opening act, Phenomenal Hand Clap Band was absolutely the WORST act I have ever seen. My husband commented that they must have been booked by a very insecure Bryan Ferry, as he was going to be GREAT in comparison. Seriously, I have never seen as many people walk out during an act as I did with them. Bryan Ferry was mediocre at best. His Roxy Music days are long behind him and he hardly needs a 10 piece orchestra and two "pole" dancers to back him at this point. His voice is pretty much shot. The highlights for me were "Love is the Drug" and a pretty cool rendition of Neil Young's "Like A Hurricane." Otherwise, this was a pretty dull evening

    Bryan Ferry

by Matango60 on 10/5/11Music Center at Strathmore - N. Bethesda

Bryan Ferry is a class act and his concert was very riveting. The multimedia show involving two dancers, movies, and lights added to the experience. Those who would see him for the Roxy Music hits might be disappointed. He focused on his new album, covers of other artists and other solo material for the most part. "Love is the Drug" was the only hit he performed from the albums 'Stranded' thru 'Siren'. His backing band is incredibly good. The female sax player stole the show several times.

He sounded the same as I remembered! Great graphic effects behind him.

Loved it and the unexpected cover of Neil Young's, "Like a hurricane". I was disappointed that there was no encore at all.

    Worth the Flight

by FerryFanForLife on 7/13/11Kew Gardens - London

Flew from the US to the UK this past weekend to see Bryan at Kew Gardens. Definitely worth the trip. The concert was great -- he performed all of the fan favorites, old and new. Beautiful venue, fabulous weather and fireworks at the end of the concert made the evening a memorable one. Looking forward to the US leg of the tour!

I've only been going to see him for thirty four years. I wish it were longer.
