BRUNO MARS IN CONCERT

Classic showmanship in the vein of James Brown and Michael Jackson is alive and well, and Bruno Mars is here to prove it. Mars takes the stage with The Hooligans, a tightly choreographed nine-piece soul band that serves as the perfect representation of his commitment to the live experience – a commitment that led to his selection as the halftime performer at Super Bowl XLVIII. A classic song-and-dance man and multi-platinum selling pop star, Mars references everyone from Prince to The Police in both his image and sound, but the result is more than mere imitation; as a songwriter and producer, he has successfully combined the sounds of his pop idols with reggae and hip hop to create a new generation of genre-crossing hits. In anticipation of his Super Bowl performance, fans can get tickets to catch Bruno Mars in concert on 2013’s Moonshine Jungle Tour.

BRUNO MARS BACKGROUND

Mars was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, where he gained his first exposure to music playing rock and Motown covers in his family’s band, The Love Notes. By age five, the Elvis Presley impersonations he performed with the band had gained him a reputation on the island and landed him a cameo in the 1992 film Honeymoon in Vegas. After high school, Mars moved to Los Angeles to pursue music, finding initial success as a member of The Smeezingtons, the writing and production team behind Flo Rida’s 2009 hit ā€œRight Round.ā€ His first success as a solo artist came in 2010 with ā€œNothing On You,ā€ a collaboration with rapper B.o.B. that peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned the duo several Grammy nominations. Mars’ debut album, 2010’s Doo-Wops & Hooligans, landed at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and contained two worldwide No. 1 Ā hits with ā€œGrenadeā€ and feel-good ballad ā€œJust The Way You Are,ā€ which nabbed him his first Grammy (Best Male Pop Vocal Performance). Sophomore album Unorthodox Jukebox (2012) was an even bigger success, peaking at No. 1 Ā on the Billboard 200 and spawning the ubiquitous hits ā€œLocked Out of Heavenā€ and ā€œWhen I Was Your Man.ā€

It started 35 min late! I was more impressed with the light show.

  • Excellent but too loud for the venue

by Deblo on 6/9/23The Theater at MGM National Harbor - National HarborRating: 4 out of 5

Bruno was amazing however, the loud booms shook the house in the MGM smaller venue. Thought it was a bit overwhelming for the space but would do it again in a heartbeat! Bruno a d his band sis a five 5 job!! Minus one star for the noise level! šŸ’

  • My new MJ

    by LoveBRUNO1 on 6/8/23Rating: 5 out of 5

I love Michael Jackson from the bottom of my heart. Now we have BRUNO he has added some sex to it and I’m all in. From start to finish all excitement could not sit down. I’m still dancing and humming at the office. I have seen the best Usher, Michael, Janet &Prince. Add them all together and you get BRUNO MARS. MGM on a Wednesday night perfection.

  • Must See!

    by F. E. on 6/7/23Rating: 5 out of 5

My wife and I traveled to Vegas twice just to see him, and each time we’ve ended up buying tickets for the next day’s concert. So, in two trips, we’ve seen him four times — that’s how good his concert is! Aside from the fact that he’s the first artist we saw in concert together — so there’s this sentimental value for us — this man is hands-down the most talented singer and musician I’ve ever seen. Go big — get tickets as close to the stage as you can and dance all night. You won’t regret it.

  • Amazing experience

Amazing experience! Awesome show, so much energy! Incredible performance! No cellphone was amazing to elevate the experience!

  • Phone use policy illogical, unsafe

by Pl on 6/5/23Rating: 1 out of 5

This is not the same times back in the day when one didn't need to worry about safety in a public venue!!!!!!!!! Secondly people no longer use actual credit cards/cash and instead use their phones to pay. With this policy you need to get it unlocked out of its prison at certain spots in the venue in order to use it. Guess who will not be buying merch or drinks then? Thirdly many of the adults who can afford MGM's avg >$300 tickets are ones who are old enough to have kids that they've left with sitters in order to come to the show and we need emergency updates as they happen-not at the artists convenience. I genuinely dont care about the artist wanting everyone not to use their phone for whatever reason he has-he could have just asked to not record or take pics. Obviously not everyone would have complied but most of us would have. That's as much as he should be allowed to expect as clearly he has no courtesy or care about real life instead of his ego. Would never have purchased tics if i had known. This is the third and last Bruno Mars concert I'll be going to. Im pissed enough to give up streaming him on his hated cell phone too. Enjoy your phone free performance Bruno and when you're wondering why the crowd is moody and unimpressed just realize its prob because their mind is not on the show but on if everything is good at home or hoping that nothing happens where they may need the phone that night.

  • Loved every minute of the show.

by Felicity on 6/5/23Rating: 5 out of 5

I went to see Bruno Mars last September and absolutely loved it. I cried out of pure excitement. I bought tickets for his June performance and I can’t wait! Will not regret buying his tickets.

  • Best day of my life.

by Caroline on 6/5/23Rating: 5 out of 5

His concerts are good for your soul. He’s amazing. I would do it all over again! Saw him in Vegas a couple days ago… contemplating going to the east coast to see him next week.

  • Great show!

Bruno Mars puts in the best shows!! Great band who actually sing and play their own instruments, great vocals, and great showmanship!!

  • Amazing Performance

    by M. M. on 6/4/23Rating: 5 out of 5

You won’t regret watching him perform live. Bruno did not disappoint. Worth every penny. Definitely would watch again. He danced, played the piano and played guitar. This man can do it all.

  • No one does it better

by Lauren on 6/4/23Rating: 5 out of 5

I wish I could make it a career to be at every Bruno Mars concert he ever does. There isn’t anyone that does it better than him and his band. The live instrumentation, the dancing, the interaction with the crowd, they leave it all out on the stage EVERY TIME. I am always so sad when it’s over because there’s never enough time to watch such amazing talent.

  • Vegas

    by S. M. on 6/2/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Amaaaazing show! The voice, the passion, and the comedy was wonderful! It’s a shame that we couldn’t use our phones bc if people saw how good the performance was, the show would be sold out every night. I mean, normally, I don’t care about the band when the artist introduces them, but his band is definitely an exception bc of how talented and fun to watch they are. It was one of the best performances I’ve ever seen, and definitely worth the trip!

  • Best concert ever 100/10

by Cheesey Toes on 6/1/23Rating: 5 out of 5

My boyfriend and I went to Vegas just for this concert and it was absolutely amazing. I’ve seen some people complain about the no phone policy, but honestly they’re just being a baby about it. The whole experience is more intimate when the people around you are not on their phones. No distractions what so ever. In addition, Bruno mars is a talented artist and comedic dancer. I recommend this to couples who want to have an amazing night out. The lights and sound only gave me an experience like no other artist has.

  • I have no voice!!

    by M. S. on 6/1/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Bruno Mars is an absolute ANIMAL when it comes to performing. This was my first time watching him, and I pray to God it’s not my last! Totally worth every penny I spent! The atmosphere was definitely breath taking! The only complaint I have is how early they make you lock your phone up! I’m all for the phone pouch, but at least let me have it outside the actual venue while I’m sipping my drink waiting to go inside. But besides that, hands down top tier experience. I will return, and will deal with putting my phone away walking through security lol.
