Great effort, but why so late to start?

by sumcup on 2/20/11Paradise Rock Club - Boston

I'd give this show a higher rating except for the fact that it was supposed to start at 8 p.m., but they didn't take the stage till 9:30 p.m. (with no opening act, just standing around for 90 minutes). There was no need for this lengthy delay. Most Springsteen fans aren't exactly spring chickens and we don't want to stand for 90 minutes unnecessarily! Not to mention pay the babysitter for all that wait time. But on the plus side, these guys clearly enjoy what they're doing, and while they don't sound exactly like the real thing, they do a good job with the music and put forth a good effort. The singer does a great job capturing Bruce's mannerisms, truly fun to witness. (Oh yeah, Bruce does that a lot!) This show, while not exactly mirroring a Bruce & E Street Band performance, reminds you of the greatness of Bruce's music, and it's just fun to hear it all again live - even if you wish it were the real thing! Other: Props to the band's organist who puts forth great energy and seems to really be trying to pay tribute to the late great Danny Federici.

    show good, club sucked

by jacksmak on 2/20/11Paradise Rock Club - Boston

I drove up from Rhode Island to see this show and the band was very good. I am pissed that the tickets said that the show started at 8pm (doors would open at 7). We tried to call to verify the shows start time, but couldn't reach a person so we hustled up there in order to find parking (not an easy feat due to snow). The bottom line was the doors didn't open at 7 - more like 8. Then we stood around for almost 2 hours waiting for the show to begin. No opening act, OK music no it sucked to wait around that long when we were mislead. Don't know if I would support that club in the future.

Get your Springsteen "fix" with this show!

    by 1SpringsteenFan on 12/21/10Altar Bar - Pittsburgh

This was a pleasant surprise on how good this show was. If you are looking to get your Springsteen "fix" in between concerts, you will not be disappointed. Not only did he look like Bruse, he sounded so much like him, it was unbelievable. The Sax player didn't have the deep voice like our Clarence, but he was still a heck of a Sax player. This group totally rocked the house all evening. It was a great night out.

Bruce in the USA phenominal, must see!

by wheebill on 12/12/10Altar Bar - Pittsburgh

If you're a fan of the "Boss" and he isn't touring, this is a must see show. Matt Ryan, not only looks like a 40 yr old Bruce, he sounds like Bruce AND he has Bruce's, mannerisms, moves and tics DOWN. ADD to that his on-stage co-horts are also look and sound alike versions of Clarence Clemmons and Little Stevie Van Zandt. Throw in the fact that these guys CAN PLAY their asses off and you have a 2 hour, rocking, rollicking, Bruce Springsteen sing along you will not forget. If these guys played their OWN stuff there is no doubt they'd have thier own recording contract. As it stands, I'm just glad I saw them strut their considerable talent and leave me smiling from ear-to-ear, hoarse from singing along and wanting more!

Good show the williamsburg music hall and the surrounding area was really cool. As for the show I must say I believe tramps like us (another bruce band) was a better show however the music was great and a good time was had at this show.

Bruce in the USA was great. However, the venue booked a group that was in HIGH SCHOOL to open. Although I can see that this was lucrative for the venue (as many high-school friends were there), this was not the kind of act that I expected or wanted to see when going to see a Bruce tribute band. (The first opening guitar player/singer was very good. The high school band was talented - but played songs that were obviiously written by a high school band.) The opening h.s. act made me decrease my rating. (My friend almost wanted to leave to get our money back when we were still listening to the h.s. band 1.5 hours after the show started.)

    AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME

    by Beechgirl1 on 7/8/10Seacrets - Ocean City

I took my Mom - she's a mega fan of Bruce (we saw him when i was about 14 in DC together -- she made me go hahahah!) She was disappointed for about 30 seconds when she realized it wasnt REALLY BRUCE. But once they started the show - she was blown away! (and so was I). She absolutely looooved every second of this show!! I took her right up to the front row and she was dancing and singing just like at the Born in the USA concert back in the 80's. She even said, this guy looks and sounds so much like Bruce its a little freaky -- lol. These guys love what they do - its evident! They make it so fun for everyone, they really get into it and that makes it so believable for everyone! I'd buy this bands CD if I knew where to get one! We are thinking this maybe a yearly Mother/Daughter night out! I hope they come back every year to Seacrets!! (Seacrets is awesome too BTW!!). Loved it!! If you are thinking about going, but not sure .... GO, you will not be disappointed!

Bruce in the USA was Great

by Denny60 on 2/22/10Penn's Peak - Jim Thorpe

Bruce in the USA was energetic and believable. The "Stevie VanSant" wannabe was good as was the "Clarence Clemons" immitator. The front man gave an adequate Bruce but they need to add songs from "The Rising" and "Magic" albums.

    Sounds like Bruce.

by yodashadow on 2/21/10Penn's Peak - Jim Thorpe

Concert was very good. Band is excellent. Saxophonist was great, as were other musicians. The resemblance to Bruce's singing is amazing. Matt put on an outstanding show. Movements and audience participation were not as dynamic as at a Bruce concert, but it may be easier to be dynamic when you have thousands of screaming fans cheering you on.

    The show was amazing

by BruceFan2009 on 11/16/09Springfield Symphony Hall - Springfield

This show was well worth going to see. I have seen Bruce Springsteen 5 times and this show felt like I was actually at the real thing. The selection of songs played was great. The looked, acted and sounded like Bruce and the E Street Band. I would absolutely recommend this show to people if it was to come to this area again. Great night of entertainment.

by Pookies on 11/15/09Springfield Symphony Hall - Springfield

Bruce in the USA would have been a whole lot better if the sound system wasn't so poor. Our seats were in the Grand Tier of the Springfield Symphony Hall, great seats for seeing the stage but terrible for the sound. The band was fantastic but really overpowered the voice of the singer. There were times that I actually couldn't make out any of the words coming out of his mouth. There was reverb on the mic but thankfully by the end of the show things had worked themselves out and the last 1/2 hour made up for the rest of the show. From where we sat we thought the performer really looked and acted like the real Bruce Springstein. Would definetly return for another performace but at a different venue. Symphony Hall should stick with the Symphony and leave Rock & Roll alone!!
