BROODS IN CONCERT:
New Zealand's hottest new duo Broods are making a name for themselves in 2014 with the catchy electronic tunes of their eponymous debut EP. Although they just started playing shows under the moniker, the brother-sister duo's performances are mature and effortless as lead singer Georgia Nott sings hits like "Bridges" over her brother's pulsing beats and backing vocals. They'll leave fans wanting more as they hit the road for a string of highly anticipated tour dates, sharing the bill with Meg Meyers, Strange Talk, and Ellie Goulding.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Siblings Georgia and Caleb Nott got their start performing together as teenagers, realizing they both wanted to pursue music full-time after dropping out of college in 2013. The duo worked with producer Joel Little (Lorde) on their self-titled EP, which was released in 2014 and has since generated major buzz around the band's music. Their hit single "Bridges" debuted at No. 8 on the New Zealand single charts and was certified gold, and their rich, pop-infused music is sure to make them an electro-pop sensation soon enough. Broods are on the road in 2014 for a string of highly anticipated shows, ready to perform their hits for fans lucky enough to get in early on a good thing.
Such a great show! They get better and better each time I see them!
I've seen arena shows of all sizes - and all varieties - in my life, but never have I seen a crowd so into a band. The show was fantastic..the last 3/4 of the show a big Broods-appreciation party. The whole band was fantastic..they knew exactly how to set the flow of the show.
This band was great live! They were energetic, sound was as amazing as on their album, and I really enjoyed listening to their performance!
Broods were absolutely fantastic and I would love to see them again!
Amazing show!! Love this venue and what an amazing band to play here!
Never have been to something like this. Bone shaking sound that makes you want more. This little girl is crushing this place with personality and sound.
I have been a fan of Broods since their first EP, and I can say after waiting 2 years to see them live, it was well worth the wait. They are an incredibly talented group that can truly perform. The energy in the room during the performance was unbeatable. I have never been to a concert where I have felt as much positive energy in my life. Not only do they put on a great show, but they are also just generally wonderful people. I was able to meet them after the show, and they were 2 of the nicest musicians I have had the pleasure of speaking with. I cannot recommend them enough. If you are looking for a great performance, and some fun, this is the group to go see.
Not only did they sound fantastic live, but the entire show was an amazing experience. The production was well-done and the set list covered such a great range of all of their music. They even had a small acoustic portion that was just lovely. I took my boyfriend who isn't even that familiar with their music and he agreed it was a fantastic show. As someone who appreciates the EXPERIENCE of seeing great live music - this was one of the best shows I've been to. (But maybe I'm biased as a fan!)
The are awesome!!! Would see then again in a second, venue was amazing and very helpful with ADA access
This New Zealand sibling duo was AMAZING! High energy, visually appealing and the venue couldn't have been more perfect.
The most amazing band I have ever seen! Jarryd James was fantastic opening for them. Hands down the most talented group of musicians/artists I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and seeing perform! The entire show was unforgettable!
amazing lights and sound, definitely one of my top 5 concerts of all time
It was my first time seeing Broods and they surpassed all expectations. I also enjoyed the opener Jarryd James. The energy and vocals were perfect - I can't emphasize enough how great Georgia's vocals were, even better in person. I can't wait to see them again, definitely sold.
Broods were great Georgia the lead singer was awesome! Good energy involved with the audience. The lighting was awesome overall really good show I saw the broods at outside lands and had to see them again glad I did!
This is a fantastically talented duo, and their live show blew me away ! Super high-energy and impeccable sounds -- easily the best show I've seen in a very long time.
I've seen Broods several times now and this tour/show was by far their best performance yet. They seemed more relaxed and willing to just have fun. Georgia's voice was amazing as usual and Caleb killed the drum kits, keyboards, and the guitar. I think having a backup singer and drummer also made their set 10x better. If you haven't seen Broods yet, I definitely recommend checking them out on this tour!
Amazing energy from the band, dynamic show. Set list was good. Will absolutely see them again when they come back to Cbus. Opener entertaining as well, ended up purchasing his album at the venue.
Georgia and Caleb are the sweetest people I've ever met. I had the chance to purchase VIP meet and greet tickets and I'm so happy I did. They're both so down to earth and humble and this shows on the stage too. My friend and I were practically front row and I heard everything so clearly. It took a while for people to warm up and actually sing/move around which was a bit awkward as an audience member who was already ready to move but once it really got started, people were into it. Georgia's voice is so beautiful and gentle but she hits high notes with a lot of power which of course drove the audience wild (Freak of Nature was definitely my favorite of the night). Their live performance is just as good, if not better, than their recorded versions. Every song they played was great but I think the best ones were Recovery, Are You Home, and Conscious, just to name a few. And when she sat down with Caleb to do the acoustic set it was almost mesmerizing. Their stage presence is 10/10 and I love how Georgia takes the time to actually engage and talk with the audience and not just sing the songs and leave. They came back out for an encore and I think we were all singing louder than her because I could barely hear her! It was incredible and I think it made them very happy too. And Jarryd James, the opener, has such an amazing voice as well and a great band behind him. He sings "tragic love songs" as he put it, but they're great and he brings a good, almost sensual vibe to the stage. He was a great opening act for Broods. Overall, this was the best concert I've ever been to!
When Georgia sang the part "You're everything I need tonight" well that's what you will think of Broods because that is all you will ever need.
Broods was incredible. Good energy. The venue was excellent as well!
