BROODS IN CONCERT:

New Zealand's hottest new duo Broods are making a name for themselves in 2014 with the catchy electronic tunes of their eponymous debut EP. Although they just started playing shows under the moniker, the brother-sister duo's performances are mature and effortless as lead singer Georgia Nott sings hits like "Bridges" over her brother's pulsing beats and backing vocals. They'll leave fans wanting more as they hit the road for a string of highly anticipated tour dates, sharing the bill with Meg Meyers, Strange Talk, and Ellie Goulding.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Siblings Georgia and Caleb Nott got their start performing together as teenagers, realizing they both wanted to pursue music full-time after dropping out of college in 2013. The duo worked with producer Joel Little (Lorde) on their self-titled EP, which was released in 2014 and has since generated major buzz around the band's music. Their hit single "Bridges" debuted at No. 8 on the New Zealand single charts and was certified gold, and their rich, pop-infused music is sure to make them an electro-pop sensation soon enough. Broods are on the road in 2014 for a string of highly anticipated shows, ready to perform their hits for fans lucky enough to get in early on a good thing.

Nightmare & the Cat Blew me away!!!!

by Ahmuseme on 7/14/14The National - Richmond

The show overall was fantastic! I have some new bands that I will be following, The Griswolds were awesome, I am going to buy their EP asap! I really enjoyed The Broods, they have some great music. But.....I was completely blown away by Nightmare and the Cat, they have a new fan, I couldn't wait to get their EP Simple, it is my new replay over & over. The band took the time to come out to the lobby and talk to whom ever was there and made a special point to sign autographs. I will be following Nightmare & the Cat and will definitely be at their show when they are close.

THE BROODS- A NEW ZEALAND DUET ON THE RISE!

    by ChefMichael57 on 7/10/14THE HOLLOW - ALBANY

The HOLLOW in Albany is a great little club (250 capacity) geared for rising talent. Getting into the club was a process that moved at a glacial pace but other than that it was a positive club experience and the sound system was excellent. The opening act BEAR GRASS is a local talent from Albany fronted by KATIE HAMMON. This was their most important gig to date and they rose to the occasion by treating the sold out club to some melodic indie folk swirled with refreshing bursts of instrumental energy that were brief but poignant. Point is- their music was solid as is but these surprises raised them to the next level. THIS IS A BAND I WILL MONITOR GOING FORWARD! I was expecting the BROODS to put on a solid layed back performance anchored in the amazing vocals of GEORGIA NOTT. What I got was that and a whole lot more! They opened with NEVER GONNA CHANGE but rather then mellow it was in your face high energy that would set the pace for their entire set. GEORGIA ruled the stage with deliciously provocative moves and power vocals. KALEB NOTT provided excellent instrumental support as did the drummer whose name I don't have. Now that I've seen them live there is no doubt in my mind that this band will rise consistently over the next 2 years. It was a great show from start to finish and well worth the 3 hr drive from Jersey.

Meg Myers and The Broods were awesome!!!

    by Tiger4207 on 5/21/14Great Scott - Allston

I originally went to see Meg Myers but of course after seeing the name of the band who was headlining, I decided to look them up to hear what they were like. Sure enough, I loved The Broods too and bought their cd in hopes of having it before the show. I've been a long time fan and supporter of Meg Myers. Her raw and fierce energy and lyrics are just perfect. There isn't a song I don't like from her! The Broods were a great show as well. I love Georgia's delicate, airy voice and their beats with grooves. A last minute addition was added to the show by the name of Scavenger Hunt. I thought they put on a great performance as well. All in all, it was a heck of a show for such a low price, well worth it plus more! I was able to meet EVERYONE too!!!!! That was so exciting :D I had cds and posters signed by everyone, which made it such an awesome and memorable night. Everyone was so nice and friendly. They hung out with everyone throughout the show as each performance was finished.

Very solid show, with Meg Myers a fantastic opener

by ParentAtTheDsco on 5/3/14Music Hall of Williamsburg - Brooklyn

Georgia and her brother were charming performers, and her vocals floated over the audience like Imogene Heap's. And Meg Myers blew us away with her opening performance.

    BROODS were mesmerizing!

by psundry on 3/6/14Mercury Lounge - New York

The hot and upcoming group, BROODS, was stellar at their performance at the Mercury. I loved the intimate viewing, but they could've easily dazzled a very large crowd at a reputable venue. I look forward to seeing this group rise up as pop music's darlings.
