BRITNEY SPEARS IN CONCERT:

Critics have hailed global superstar and multi-platinum artist Britney Spears' spectacular Las Vegas residency show Piece of Me at The AXIS at Planet Hollywood as one of the best productions to hit the strip in years. Britney's skills are on full display as she and a crew of fierce backup dancers strut their stuff amid some of the most dazzling sets in Sin City. Voted “Best Show” and “Best Bachelorette Party” in the 2015 Best of Las Vegas poll, the show features the biggest dance hits and emotional ballads from Spears’ fireworks-filled career and has all the costume changes you’d expect from one of the country’s premier pop divas. From opening number “Work B*tch” and mid-set favorites like “…Baby One More Time” to epic closer “Till the World Ends”, Spears and Piece of Me deliver a nonstop party train of iconic pop jams, too-hot-to-handle fashions, and razor-sharp dance moves that leave no doubt that she remains at the top of her game.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Born in Mississippi and raised in Louisiana, Britney Jean Spears knew she wanted to be an entertainer from an early age. Childhood vocal and dance lessons gave way to Star Search and a brief stint on the ‘90s revival of The Mickey Mouse Club, and in 1997 she was signed to Jive Records after impressing execs with a performance of Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing”. Her 1999 debut album …Baby One More Time was an immediate success, landing at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and going on to become the top-selling album of all time by a teenage solo artist. After following up in 2000 with the aptly titled Oops!...I Did It Again – which also peaked at No. 1 – Britney’s blitz continued with a string of successful tours and albums including the self-titled album Britney (2001) and In the Zone (2003), which earned her a Best Dance Recording Grammy for hit single “Toxic.” Britney struggled with personal issues in the mid-‘00s, but by 2008 she was back on top with her sixth album Circus, a worldwide No. 1 that earned her a place in the Guinness Book of World Records as the youngest female artist to have five albums debut at No. 1. Following 2011’s massively successful Femme Fatale and “Scream & Shout”, her platinum-selling collaboration with will.i.am, the ever-provocative Britney released “Work Bitch” in September 2013 as the lead single from her upcoming album Britney Jean. The album’s release coincided with the kick-off of Piece of Me, her two-year Las Vegas residency at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino. Due to the success of the show, Britney announced in late 2015 that she was extending the residency for another two years – welcome news to fans around the world hoping for a chance to experience the excitement of Britney in Sin City.

    Just Amazing

by cutiepie555 on 7/27/18Radio City Music Hall - New York

This was really an amazing show! I don’t think I’ll go to anything this good for a while, and I go to a lot of shows :) I had been watching Britney’s Apple Music special for over a year - the show was very similar in NYC, but it was just even better in a live setting! I feel really lucky I got to see the show.

    Fun, but rushed

by Sam769 on 7/27/18Radio City Music Hall - New York

I'm going to start this off by saying I absolutely LOVE Britney Spears, and this was my 4th time seeing her live in concert. Unfortunately, this was not her best show. She looked fantastic, the costumes were amazing, the sets and dancers were amazing, and she did all the best songs. But it felt very rushed through. She came on over a half hour late, after we received an email saying the show would start PROMPTLY at 8pm, and it was 8:35-8:40 by the time she came out. Then, it kind of felt like she spent more time off stage doing costume changes than she did on stage performing, so that was a bit disappointing. I also would've liked to have seen her dancing full out a little bit more, she looked at times like she was just marking the moves, which is understandable if you're actually singing live, but we know she doesn't really do that. Which I don't mind with her, because the whole show is a spectacle regardless, but then at least dance at full force. But again, was still great seeing her do all her classic hits, like Ooops I Did it Again, Hit Me Baby One More Time, (You Drive Me) Crazy, Stronger, Toxic, Me Against the Music, etc... The biggest disappointment, though, was the venue's "jumbotron" screens, and I put that in quotes, because they were really too small for people in the mezzanine levels to see what was happening. They should have been bigger screens, with a more zoomed in view. We were in the first mezz, a center section, 4th row, so we weren't that far from the stage, but the jumbotrons were not an improvement to our distance from the stage. It wasn't worth it to take your eyes off the stage, because they didn't give us a closer view at all. Get better screens, Radio City! Also, the wines you served at the concession stand were absolutely disgusting and full of sugar. Cheap garbage! I had a wicked hangover the next day after only 1.5 glasses. You can do much better than that for $12/glass!

    It's Britney, b*tch!

by heyitseth on 7/27/18Radio City Music Hall - New York

I have to give it to her - the girl can still put on an amazing show. The stage set up was a bit lackluster but her performance and energy was incredible. Would definitely see her again in Vegas.

Britney is still a fantastic entertainer!

by GM02 on 7/27/18Radio City Music Hall - New York

Britney’s concert includes a great set list of recent songs and her fans’ favorite throwback hits. Her exciting show keeps everyone dancing all night long. My only disappointment is that she began 30 minutes late even though the venue stressed that everyone arrive one hour early.

    Worth the 19 year wait...

by Iranipapi on 7/27/18Radio City Music Hall - New York

I had waited 19 years of my life to see Britney Spears. It finally happened, I was very thankful to have found a resell ticket here on ticketmaster for 70% below face value (I know my heart stopped when I bought it). That’s the first thing I will say, these shows are extremely classist and put out her real fans from the show. So yeah, I stood in a pit with obviously wealthy people in their 40’s & 50’s near no one in my age range (I’m 25 and I couldn’t spot a single person in the 21-26 range). These shows really put out her real fans, because tickets usually start at $300 with fees for a nosebleed. The fan thing is my second point, if you aren’t a a full fledged fan of Britney Spears from every album cycle and you only know her radio singles then this Piece of Me tour will be more about something you can boast to with friends and share on your instagram. Most if not all the people in my section weren’t dancing, because she plays deep cuts like “Touch of my hand” “Breathe one me” “Freakshow” “Do Somethin’” “Boys” ( I doubt like 80% of the people at my show had heard those songs, I look around and no one sings along). So this show is very specific to fans, with newer songs like “clumsy” “change your mind” “slumber party” for people who have listened to her newer record...again not many people dancing to those. So with her “real” fans not being able to afford these shows you end up with a whole crowd that only knows “oops” “baby” and “slave” and a whole lot of rich drunk people. That’s all i have to say about the crowd. The performance and set list for me as a fan was amazing! I did expect more of a greatest hits kind of show, but I absolutely love all of her albums and those random tracks thrown in were amazing to see performed live. I say performed because the show might not be how we might traditionally see a performer live, with live mics and raw vocals. It’s completely all choreographed and playbacked but Britney is really going hard on these shows and deserves all the credit for putting on an amazing performance, and to be fair this is what she has done all her career. She honestly looks amazing, happy, energetic and truly looks like she’s giving it her best. I did not stop dancing and singing the entire night, I only ended up with two videos because I really felt like it was my only chance I would see her. Is it worth $500-800 range for good seats, after seeing that show and it being my first time after waiting so many years I think I would 100% have done it for the full price value but only once and only for this specific show, but also everyone in the venue looked like they could drop that on any day no problem. Britney was the only one besides Beyoncé that I could splurge and not feel guilty. I usually only by tickets to see more affordable and inclusive pop stars, she is a huge exception. Overall an amazing night, from a once in a lifetime seat, from a once in a lifetime performer!

    Sad Disappointment

by RhondaLee1616 on 7/27/18Radio City Music Hall - New York

After being a fan for 15 years, I was very excited to take my 21-year old daughter to see one of her favorite performers from her childhood - sadly, it was a huge disappointment. Britney didn't sing one note (which I expected and accepted), but still was looking forward to an awesome performance - still disappointed. The dancing was amateur level with the equivalence of a "good" dance recital. Britney was off beat on most of her dances, like she had missed most of the practices. She was more worried about pulling her pony-tail tight every couple seconds than getting the dance moves completed. The connection to the audience was almost zero - she said a few random things so quickly you couldn't even understand her, the whole show felt like it was on fast-speed and she was trying to get everything finished and out of there ASAP - I expected top-notch performance from someone who had their own show in Vegas - never again.

Britney is back with more energy than I’ve seen in years! She’s revampped her show with new mixes, songs, and dance moves! Even people who haven’t followed her music through the years will love singing along to her old hits and getting know her new ones! There’s something in it for everyone!!

    SHE’S AMAZING

by LImom123 on 7/27/18Radio City Music Hall - New York

After years of living in the cameras and the ups and downs of life...she performed with a vegence. She sang and danced her heart out for two hrs non-stop! No opener-no encore... no need for them! She looked better than hot. Simply amazing. She deserves nothing but praise for that show! Happy I went and as a fan, i am happy for her!

    Britney Spears was amazing!

by TSwiftFan1 on 7/26/18Radio City Music Hall - New York

Overall, I thought the show was amazing! She sang some of her older songs which made me relive my childhood plus her newer songs which I love as well. She had me singing and dancing throughout the whole show. The only changes I would make if any is her having more fan interaction between songs and possibly making the show an extra half hour so she could of sang more songs than she did.
