I do like that the festival was an all ages festival :)
I love my EDM music and getting to see Porter Robinson, Empire of the Sun, 21 Pilots, Bassnectar and company was awesome. Music for all different tastes. There were some good food vendors and plenty to drink. Can't wait for its return in 2014!
I went to see twenty | one | pilots. They were great as expected. Some of the other artists I liked, and there were some that I did not like, but that is the norm for a music festival.
At first i wasn't all that impressed, it wasnt that fun at the beginning when I got there around 1 but once the sun started going down, and the larger bands came on it was crazy
Even though I didn't know many of the artists, I was excited to go to Breakaway with my boyfriend. The description of the even said there were going to be three stages, activities, and rides. There were three stages like they said, but everything else really wasn't up to par with the description. The "rides" were a fun slide an a ride kind of like the swings, and kind of like the scrambler. To me, that doesn't constitute "rides", but I guess there were two, technically making it plural. As for activities, there were none. Unless you want to count sponsor/advertisement tents as "activities". There were just a few tents and they were just giving away junk and pamphlets. The bands/artists were sub-par, to say the least. Bassnectar was good, but not good enough to make up for the cost of the ticket.
WAS AN INCREDIBLE NIGHT AT AN INCREDIBLE VENUE !!!
Down right amazing. Don't know what else to say!!!!!
It was amazing, fantastic lineup and the greatest concert environment I've ever been to. Definitely recommend doing it again in following years
It seemed like everyone was having fun...Good call on beer vendors walking around. That was an awesome move cause you didn't have to miss any show to get a beer. Pretty good acts that got booked. The knocks were a great surprise act that killed the Tent and Empire of the Sun played superbly as well.
Just went to hang out with friends. Hadn't heard of any of the bands. Now I have some new favorites. Empire of the Sun and Bassnectar were both amazing and had great performances. Hope I get the chance to see them both again someday.
I took my 14 year old son and we had a great time. Most of the bands/DJs were really talented and most were surprisingly personable-just a great crowd of people overall. My favorites were 21 Pilots, Robert DeLong, Porter Robinson, LA Riots and Bassnectar. BUT!!! I missed a lot of what was going on in the tent which was a lot of fun. It gave us a great place to retreat to when Juicy J was performing-NOT one of our favorites. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars was because of the lack of variety in food options. For an all-day event, there needs to be more vendors brought in-the typical fare is not good more than once-thank goodness for the noodles, though.
Could not have asked for a better day! Gorgeous weather, all performances were on time!
Breakaway Music Featival was a great time. For being the first year preformed I liked the outdoor stadium and all smaller stages. Beers and drinks were expensive 8$ a beer and 4$ a water but that's stadium prices. . Sets were short but the point was made during their 30-90minutes. Bassnectar was an amazing closer he had a phenomenal preformance his visuals were unique and practically impossible to take your eyes off of. He held a meet and greet where his fans got to cross off a bucketlist bullet. Bassnectar is so much more than a "dj" or "artist" he's a way of life and all my bnf friends and myself were completely and utterly blown away! Thanks Lorin!
Breakaway was surprisingly fun. The performers were excellent and the crowd was chill. The place to be was on the field, which required a more expensive ticket than the bleachers. My only complaint is that you werent allowed to bring in certain bags and empty bottles with caps, yet as soon as you walk in, you see tons of bags and bottles with bottle caps, so it all depends on which security person you pass.
All around this venue was pretty amazing. The shows were everything I expected and more. I couldnt of asked for a better time. Although beer was about 8$ and all I seen around was Budweiser.
Small crowd made for a great time. There were no problems and the artists were all amazing. Kendrick Lamar showed up late so he ran a small set but I was totally OK with that. Porter Robinson was very good as well and the setup of the stadium was very nice!
The artists were amazing but the prices were much too high especially with all the restrictions and the amount that alcohol costs. And parking being $20 dollars was ridiculous. The music was amazing but the venue was awful. I do not recommend crew stadium.
overall it was an enjoyable afternoon/evening. the only thing that really bothered me was the amount of little kids in there that didnt know how to conduct themselves because mom and dad dropped them off for the afternoon/evening. it really should be an 18+ event, or restrict minors to the stands. they also need to wristband everyone who is 21 and over...it was annoying to have to dig for your id in a moving crowd.
By far one of the funnest things I've done in my life. The artist were amazing and the lights during night time were awesome.
Although I was highly disappointed that I wasn't able to dance around on the immaculately manicured field, I still had a blast! Schoolboy Q was great in the tent, Twenty One Pilots were very interesting, and I fell in love all over again with Empire of the Sun and Bassnectar. Although I think some of their set was prerecorded (what do you expect when it's Luke without Nick), Empire of the Sun showed what a true performance really is. Bassnectar did not let me down and played for the crowd, like he always does. Lorin is a genius!!!
