About The Mississauga Steelheads

Mississauga is one of the newest, most diverse, and fastest growing cities in Canada, and it's well-represented by the Mississauga Steelheads of the Ontario Hockey League. The Steelheads are the third team to have represented the Toronto suburb in the OHL within the last quarter century, but they've already made inroads in the league, reaching the 2017 Robertson Cup finals where they lost to the Erie Otters. The Steelheads are considered a separate entity from the St. Michael's Majors, the second iteration of the legendary Toronto junior hockey team who played in Mississauga from 2007 until their sale in 2012. The Mississauga IceDogs, who moved to St. Catherines, Ontario, upon the arrival of the St. Michael's Majors, are now known as the Niagara IceDogs and compete alongside the Steelheads in the OHL's Central Division. The steelhead is a type of rainbow trout native to the Pacific Northwest but is also farmed in Ontario, and its presence makes for one of the more unique logos in the OHL.

The Mississauga Steelheads play out of the Paramount Fine Foods Centre, which opened as the Hershey Centre in 1998 and has a capacity of 5,612; it is also home to the 2017 NBA G-League champion Raptors 905. The Steelheads are in the Central Division of the Ontario Hockey League's Eastern Conference, which includes the Sudbury Wolves, the North Bay Battalion, the Barrie Colts, and the Niagara IceDogs, who from 1996 to 2007 played in Mississauga before the St. Michael's Majors displaced them. The Ontario Junior Hockey League's Mississauga Chargers, who play out of the Port Credit Arena, are the Steelheads' Junior-A affiliate.

  • Smokers

I enjoyed the game but I brought my wife and she smokes. I don’t know why you won’t let smokers out ? I’ve been to North Bay and Peterborough with my wife and they would let her out to have a butt in between periods ? Other than that I enjoyed watching the 2 best coaches in the OHL and their teams battle !

  • Playoffs

Need better food, especially the pizza. Need a brand name. Need to accept tickets through your wallet need more concession stands lineups far too long. Need some pop-ups that just serve pop and snacks. need to make the rules clear state you can’t bring in horns or bells but then during the playoffs are telling you you can. I think it’s good for the team spirit if you can bring horns and bells in all the time very unclear on this it’s good hockey, but they need to promote it more.Need a better sound system. Can’t even hear what they’re saying. It’s so garbled.

  • Action packed game. My son and I enjoyed it.

St Patrick game and card show was great had a really great time but there needs to be a better way for reentry to the games so your there at 4 pm and the game starts at 7 pm one way entry is ridiculous when you're there early for the giveaway and my tickets were bought on line so I could of show them again. Upon reentry. But all and all was fun.

went to the Brampton steelheads game for date night with my fiancé first time coming to see them, everything was being announced in both English and Hindi all the intermission music was both in English and Hindi just took away from the overall experience we were there to see a hockey game and not a cultural event

  • Steelheads game

Arena overall was nice lots of area to get drinks and souvenirs. The seats first row behind the benches aren’t worth getting. The seats are almost as low as the players bench so you spend most of the game watching the video screen. You can’t see the play seated.

  • Music too loud

by Mike on 9/30/24CAA Centre - BramptonRating: 3 out of 5

Music was too loud, concession food not appealing (i.e fountain sodas not good). organization to get into the building was not good.

  • arena not great

the hockey was great. a really exciting team to watch. the arena leaves a lot to be desired. PFFC was much more spacious and a lot cleaner. hopefully they will get better fan support this year
