About The Mississauga Steelheads

Mississauga is one of the newest, most diverse, and fastest growing cities in Canada, and it's well-represented by the Mississauga Steelheads of the Ontario Hockey League. The Steelheads are the third team to have represented the Toronto suburb in the OHL within the last quarter century, but they've already made inroads in the league, reaching the 2017 Robertson Cup finals where they lost to the Erie Otters. The Steelheads are considered a separate entity from the St. Michael's Majors, the second iteration of the legendary Toronto junior hockey team who played in Mississauga from 2007 until their sale in 2012. The Mississauga IceDogs, who moved to St. Catherines, Ontario, upon the arrival of the St. Michael's Majors, are now known as the Niagara IceDogs and compete alongside the Steelheads in the OHL's Central Division. The steelhead is a type of rainbow trout native to the Pacific Northwest but is also farmed in Ontario, and its presence makes for one of the more unique logos in the OHL.

The Mississauga Steelheads play out of the Paramount Fine Foods Centre, which opened as the Hershey Centre in 1998 and has a capacity of 5,612; it is also home to the 2017 NBA G-League champion Raptors 905. The Steelheads are in the Central Division of the Ontario Hockey League's Eastern Conference, which includes the Sudbury Wolves, the North Bay Battalion, the Barrie Colts, and the Niagara IceDogs, who from 1996 to 2007 played in Mississauga before the St. Michael's Majors displaced them. The Ontario Junior Hockey League's Mississauga Chargers, who play out of the Port Credit Arena, are the Steelheads' Junior-A affiliate.

  • Good game!

Well I realized after driving through a snow storm that I forgot my phone with the tickets in the wallet app!! When my party got to the arena, I was helped at the ticket counter by an amazing staff person who happily solved the problem!! Ticketmaster is so easy to use and fool proof for the senior crowd, thank you!!

Pucks and Paws was such a fun event! Great to see all the dogs at the game. Steelheads won & clinched a playoff spot. Family fun at it’s finest.

  • Not do fine food at “Fine Foods Centre”

by Will on 4/7/23Paramount Fine Foods Centre - MississaugaRating: 4 out of 5

The arena is nice, the view is great, the staff are great and the on ice product is great… but for a place names the “Paramount Fine Foods Centre” the fact that it’s frozen pizza being heated and served at those prices is an absolute embarrassment

  • Good

by Tom on 3/28/23Paramount Fine Foods Centre - MississaugaRating: 2 out of 5

Game was fun. Food was awful . No healthy food choices, just pizza and half cooked pretzels. Make it a better fan experience where kids can meet players. Make all seats general admission

  • A nice evening

Great seats at a decent price. Free parking too!!!!!!!!!

  • Great night out for the family-needs more promoting

by Just Another Hockey Mom on 3/20/23Paramount Fine Foods Centre - MississaugaRating: 5 out of 5

Geowing up I was an avid OHL fan. My friends and I traveled to many different OHL arenas (Brampton, Mississauga, Guelph, even as far as Erie) We loved it. This is the first time I have attended an OHL game in a long time. I took my family, and everyone loved it! My only wish would be that this amazing venue would promote their teams better. The stands were more than half empty. Give every player in the local hockey leagues a voucher. For every paying adult, one child with a voucher can get in free. It would be better to fill the stands than see them sit empty. Not to mention they can make money on concession. I would hate to see this team moved to a different city becauae they lack a bigger fan base. Otherwise the event was perfect!

  • Okay experience

by CT on 1/16/23Paramount Fine Foods Centre - MississaugaRating: 2 out of 5

Couple hundred fans on a Friday night. In game experience was fairly mediocre from an entertainment perspective. Thank goodness the actual game was close because otherwise I might have fallen asleep. Player set a franchise record and there was barely anyone there to celebrate, not to mention the ticket prices are around the same price as a Marlies game. Need to do a better job promoting and marketing these games to draw in more fans

  • Mississauga Steelheads

by Steve G on 10/19/22Paramount Fine Foods Centre - MississaugaRating: 5 out of 5

The Steelheads have a good team and their games are always enjoyable. Its a shame that the attendance is so low for their events. The price to attend games is very reasonable. The Paramount Fine Foods Centre is first class. OHL hockey is entertaining and is great value for the money. You can see 5 games for the price of one nose bleed seat watching the Leafs. And you can afford to bring the family.

  • Steelheads vs Wolves

  • Fantastic experience

    by C. C. on 11/24/21Paramount Fine Foods Centre - MississaugaRating: 5 out of 5

The hockey is played at a high level, with end to end action. The seats are so close to the action, that there is not a bad seat in the house. A very affordable and enjoyable experience. Highly recommended.

So we are newbies to Canada and decided we should go see an ice hockey game and since we are living in Mississauga we said we would go to see a local team! We loved every minute of it! The atmosphere was brilliant the crowd really put effort into the cheering on of the teams and we will definitely be going to another game soon

We had a super time, but it really helped that the game was a 6 to 0 shutout, with Dane Fox scoring a hat trick!!
