About

Boy Golden has a purpose: enjoy each day and make good music. Founder and minister of The Church of Better Daze, he wants to help people seeking to improve on yesterday's themes. His songs, like hymns, are hopeful, fresh and upbeat. KD & Lunch Meat is fluorescent and fun, like its namesake, and easily ingested. Something to Work Towards searches for the meaning in life, while Smoke on the Breeze and Any Way It Works are warm, tender and linger like perfume. Church of Better Daze is the inspirational, musical manifesto. The harmonies are the collective idea of working together, the mellow melodies keep our hopes alive and the lyrics are golden rules to live by: Follow your heart / Make good art / Call your momma / Work real hard.
Redefining jam band and stoner cultures by turning dead heads into lively brains, Boy Golden wants to unite us all in a hazy dream under one roof. "We're all the same at the Church of Better Daze," he sings. Find unity in the congregation of these 11 tracks, which redefine the precedent for collaboration, common goals and cannabis. If you're open to learn, and can speak your truth, you can blaze and still get paid in Boy Golden's Church of Better Daze.

One of the best shows I’ve ever seen

by Fan Golden on 11/27/23Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

Not the first time I’ve seen Boy Golden, but it was their best performance I’ve seen and one of my favourite concerts I’ve ever been to. Kris Ulrich was a fantastic opener. Great songs and great delivery. Fontine is simply the best singer I’ve ever heard. All cake and no fondant. Fantastic songwriter and a great entertainer. The Boy Golden set was pure magic. The love these musicians have for each other is constantly evident and the crowd feeds off of it. Mountain Road almost blew the top off the building in a way that all the corny hard rock bands who have played the Burt, only dream of doing.

Tractor Tavern in Seattle, they were killer!

    by N. C. on 1/7/23

Saw Boy Golden and The Church of Better Daze in Seattle when they opened up for The Sheepdogs. They’re insanely talented and have a great vibe. Golden himself was in the lobby after the show selling his merch. Awesome down to earth dude.

Well, Boy Golden is about to take over the world…

by AG on 4/23/22West End Cultural Centre - Winnipeg

This whole show, as a collective, was one of the best shows I have ever seen. The musicianship, the lighting, set, fashion, voices, songs, style and groove. A++ Boy Golden is an absolute star and his band gracefully elevates him while shining themselves.
