to find out that I purchased a full price ticket and then I saw the even on Groupon made me really upset. To get there and find the music selection was poor and the sound quality not that good made me even more upset
I have seen the Boston Pops perform both at Symphony Hall (amazing) and at the July 4th concert on the Esplanade (awesome). Seeing/hearing them at the Verizon was a huge disappoint. Partly my fault for coming to a stadium. I did not get the feel good about Christmas experience. Along with being in the wrong venue for such an event, the music selection was not the best. Hansel and Gretel as a Christmas song is not my choice. The overall feeling was rushed and then having Miss New Hampshire come on the stage was ridiculous. The opera singer had a fantastic voice. But I would never ever come to the Verizon for such an event again.
Absolutely joyful. Thank you for bringing the Pops to NH! It is now going to be an annual tradition for our circle of friends.
Our evening at the Pops was amazing from the first note to the last. The entire show was most enjoyable and I hope to see them again next year. This was my first event at the Verizon but I do not think it will be my last.
The Boston Pops are awesome! The venue was not personal like watching them on TV in an auditorium that is well lit up and everyone seems to be much more up close and personal. If we go to see them again in our lifetime, it will be on their home-turf. You couldn't ask for a higher quality orchestra, a better sense of entertainment and humor, a better connected to the community entertainment Dias. The Governor of New Hampshire was there; Miss New Hampshire was there; they had an awesome Soprano singer; an awesome choral group; and we found out as we were leaving that we sat next to a Power-ball winner. Ah-h-h-h . . . rubbing elbows with the elite . . . it was "okay"..
My son and I had an amazing time at the Pops Holiday concert. Keith Lockhart and all were second to none. There aren't enough words to describe the joy this music brings to me. This will be a family tradition for years to come! Bravo!!
Enjoyable show to get you in the Christmas spirit!
First time ever seeing the Boston Pops, and it was amazing! Such talented people!
If you want to live in the Christmas moment, sit and enjoy the music of the Boston Pops. Starting the concert with classical music then progressing into popular tunes, with a audience sing along in the mix makes for a great family event.
Best version of the 12 Days of Christmas! Sound mixing was okay, the chorus should have been amped higher, the musicians were great! Great way to begin the Holidays.
I purchased these tickets in August for my husband, my mother-in-law and myself thinking this would be a new experience and it was! Our seats were great and the arena was not too hot. The music was amazing and choir was unbelievable. It had started snowing here in NH around 4 pm so knowing it was snowing outside and listening to these Christmas favorite was perfect. The only down side was at the end for sing a long and they did not turn up the lights so you could see the words on the program for the sing a long.
I absolutely LOVED it... the music was beautiful and played so well!!!
The Pops orchestra was excellent as usual, we enjoyed the selection and the quality very much. BUT there was a bad connection from an 'on stage' mike, to a speaker on our side of the arena which really was distracting, . Sounded like a whisper and an echo, slightly delayed. I find that inexcusable, and it definitely took away from our total enjoyment.
Our family has always wanted to see the Pops at Christmas and this year we did! It was worth every cent. We loved every minute of it.
The music was so every beautiful. .The singers were real nice. we had a lot of fun.
The music was flawless and the spirit of the musicians and the choral group was wonderful. The venue, however probably isn't the best for an orchestra. We had very good seats, eighth row, but the music was too soft. We needed more volume to really grab us in the way we had hoped.
Yet another outstanding performance by this orchestra. In addition, there was a full choir and a wonderful baritone. I especially enjoyed the 12 days of Christmas which was done utilizing the sound tracks from various movies, such as Oklahoma, Swan Lake, and other favorites.
Every year the Boston Pops puts on an amazing holiday concert. We hadn't been to one in many years. This year, we decided to take our 12 and 8 year olds, who enjoyed the show as much as we did. The music really put me in the holiday spirit and uplifted me! Totally enjoyed every moment.
The Boston Pops were fantastic! A great way to get into the holiday spirit. Will make this an annual event!
