Boston Bruins History
Established in 1924, the Boston Bruins were the first American team to join the NHL(Opens in new tab). They won their first of six Stanley Cup championships in just their fifth season in 1929, defeating the defending champions New York Rangers. It was the first Stanley Cup championship to feature two U.S. teams. The Bruins added championships in 1939 and 1941, and between 1943 and 1958 they reached the final five more times.
After the arrival of future Hall of Famers Bobby Orr (a three-time MVP) and Phil Esposito (one of the greatest goal-scorers of all time and the first player to score 100 points in a season), the Bruins won Stanley Cup Championships in 1970 and 1972. The image of Orr flying through the air after scoring "The Goal" in overtime to defeat the St. Louis Blues in 1970 is one of the most memorable in hockey history.
On April 9, 2023, the Bruins beat the Philadelphia Flyers 5-3, marking their 63rd win of the season and setting a new NHL record for the most single-season wins. They made history again on April 12 when they reached 133 points scored in a single season thanks to a 5-2 win over the Washington Capitals, besting the 1976-77 Montreal Canadiens for the NHL team with the most points scored in a single season.
Twenty-nine straight appearances in the Playoffs followed — a record among all professional sports — including Stanley Cup Final appearances in 1974, 1977–1978, 1988, and 1990.
After a two-decade absence, the Bruins returned to the Stanley Cup Final in 2011, defeating the Vancouver Canucks in a thrilling seven-game series behind the goaltending of Tim Thomas. To date, the Bruins have made 20 appearances in the Stanley Cup Final, including most recently in 2019. Legendary players who have worn the Bruins’ jersey include Hall of Famers Cecil "Tiny" Thompson, Eddie Shore, and Aubrey "Dit" Clapper.

Loud!
by Horhay on 4/20/10TD Garden - BostonRating: 5 out of 5I have been to a lot of Bruins games, and this was by far the loudest, at least the most consistent. The game itself was amazing and the good guys won! Hoping we can pull this one out so I can get to the next round :)

Arena sucks
by booyahh on 4/12/10TD Garden - BostonRating: 3 out of 5The performance was good as usual but the arena at TD Garden was not set up very well. To get to the arena you have to go to the train station then wait in a huge line until they let you upstairs to the arena not before 1 hour before the event. Then you wait in another line upstairs for another 10 to 15 mins before you are let in. By the time you get in the actual arena you have time to take a piss maybe grab one drink and get to your seat. How about letting everyone in earlier like all the other arenas and get a few beers before the game?? why does this need to be so complicated??

Bruins game is fun for the whole family!
by kcapecodder on 4/5/10TD Garden - BostonRating: 4 out of 5We went to Boston with our two kids (13 & 10). Our 10 year old is an avid hockey player and fan (as is my husband) - both had previously been to Bruins game - however, it was my and my 13 year old daugther's first time. We all had a blast and enjoyed the game. They do a great job keeping the fans revved up and engaged even between plays and periods. And getting there & parking was easy too. We walked over after having dinner in the North End (great Italian restaurants!). What a great night!

Great atmosphere, convenient parking, no bad seats, I just wish the on-ice product was better. We had a good time anyways though.

Slow as a snail
by Lithgow on 3/26/10TD Garden - BostonRating: 1 out of 5The Bruins are not a good team right now. Tampa out played the home team the entire night. The team lacks scoring and a sense of urgency. I grew up following the Big Bad Bruins era with Bobby Orr and company. Today's game of hockey is just not exciting like the Orr era. Instead of crisp passing the current game consists of shuffling the puck along the boards. There were a lot of empty seats last night. Totally discouraged.
The spirit of the match
by Olda on 3/22/10TD Garden - BostonRating: 5 out of 5The BB playing NYR was a great event. We never experienced anything like that before - we took the advantage of being in Boston and went. The match was great, though towards the end it lost a bit of excitement. We appreciated the players as well as the spectators - how excited they were, how supportive to their team and how thoroughly devoted to the game. Though many people in the TD Garden, everything was available in the reasonable time - refreshment as well as restrooms. We would love to go more often if we could. Unfortunately it is quite a trip for us to come, so hopefully some time in future. And in the meantime Go,Bruins, go!! Krejci and Chara are the best!
Bruins vs. Rangers
by LinF on 3/22/10TD Garden - BostonRating: 4 out of 5The game was great, awesome energy from the Bruins! But we feel that there is entirely too much time wasted on cleaning the ice. Let's face it, hockey teams have played for decades without that and it adds nothing to the game but only extends the time. It seems silly and quite frankly, wimpish for the game of hockey.
Bruins finally won
by Dotto on 3/22/10TD Garden - BostonRating: 4 out of 5Seats were great. The Bruins finally won a game that I attented. I was notified very early of the change in game time. All in all a great time. Also saw a penalty shot for the first time.
