Boston Bruins History

Established in 1924, the Boston Bruins were the first American team to join the NHL(Opens in new tab). They won their first of six Stanley Cup championships in just their fifth season in 1929, defeating the defending champions New York Rangers. It was the first Stanley Cup championship to feature two U.S. teams. The Bruins added championships in 1939 and 1941, and between 1943 and 1958 they reached the final five more times.

After the arrival of future Hall of Famers Bobby Orr (a three-time MVP) and Phil Esposito (one of the greatest goal-scorers of all time and the first player to score 100 points in a season), the Bruins won Stanley Cup Championships in 1970 and 1972. The image of Orr flying through the air after scoring "The Goal" in overtime to defeat the St. Louis Blues in 1970 is one of the most memorable in hockey history.

On April 9, 2023, the Bruins beat the Philadelphia Flyers 5-3, marking their 63rd win of the season and setting a new NHL record for the most single-season wins. They made history again on April 12 when they reached 133 points scored in a single season thanks to a 5-2 win over the Washington Capitals, besting the 1976-77 Montreal Canadiens for the NHL team with the most points scored in a single season.

Twenty-nine straight appearances in the Playoffs followed — a record among all professional sports — including Stanley Cup Final appearances in 1974, 1977–1978, 1988, and 1990.

After a two-decade absence, the Bruins returned to the Stanley Cup Final in 2011, defeating the Vancouver Canucks in a thrilling seven-game series behind the goaltending of Tim Thomas. To date, the Bruins have made 20 appearances in the Stanley Cup Final, including most recently in 2019. Legendary players who have worn the Bruins’ jersey include Hall of Famers Cecil "Tiny" Thompson, Eddie Shore, and Aubrey "Dit" Clapper.

  • Do it again BUT...

by FastMatt on 11/22/10TD Garden - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

Great seats. Thomas was asleep on the first 2 goals and you could clearly see that from these seats... But - clb243 needs a new waitress.... She was horrible!

  • Boston Bruins

by Greenguy on 11/20/10TD Garden - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

Seats were pretty good - Loge 14. Not a large crowd and Tuuka kept the Bruins in the game until the B's broke it open with 5 minutes left in game. Most of crowd pretty cool. Three younger males behind got into tussler with guy next to us and discussed going "outside". Not sure why pro hockey attracts this type - it is as though they don't get the fights on ice are almost staged. Still enjoyed game. Wish Garden had system (if they do it is not announced) where you can text or call for assistance. But still a good night and easy out of garage after game.

  • Bruins game

by Superhans on 11/20/10TD Garden - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

I've watched hockey for nearly 20 years now,I've only previously seen games in the UK. To have the opportunity to see a game of such standard was amazing. Game had everything I could have wished for - it was amazing. If only Bruins had won on the penalty shoot out!!!

  • 1st Row Club Seats are worth it!

by Anonymous on 11/18/10TD Garden - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Then entire experience was great! The premium section/access left no stones unturned! The hallways are decked out with memorabelia, the service was great (although food/beverage selections a little limited) and no lines for the bathrooms!

  • Suite seats - not so "suite" at all

    by madmac16 on 11/17/10TD Garden - BostonRating: 1 out of 5

Tickets were in suite with seat numbers listed, the actual seats did not have numbers. Was not able to sit in the seats that I purchased. Was supposed to be a great experience for my seven year old son, I spent too much time trying to get staff help to enjoy the game.

  • My 1st game

  • Bruins Club Seats

    by Bosshogg64 on 11/17/10TD Garden - BostonRating: 3 out of 5

The view was great. The game was awesome. The service was poor to say the least. I paid $ 315.00 for 2 tickets so i could bring one of my customers and the first time the service laby came by was 6 minutes into the second period. She was very nice and got our food and drinks quickly. To pay this much and wait this long i would not do it again.

  • great game

enjoyed it with my 7 year old son. it was great great great.

  • their loud music ruins the experience

    by Nitro17 on 11/14/10TD Garden - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

the hockey was exciting and the seats were good. But why does the stadium crew insist on playing during every stoppage of play is just too loud. It blocks out any chance to talk during the down times. Their stupidly loud music ruins the experience.

  • by mainer37 on 11/13/10TD Garden - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

Great seats, unobstructed view. Easy to get in and out.

  • Bruins Rule

by FreshClams on 11/13/10TD Garden - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

The Bruins came out flat after they kicked Pittsburgh the night before. Montreal was well rested. The Bruins kept up with them for 2 periods, but penalties killed them. A Bruins-Montreal game is always entertaining, but this one wasn't one of the best. The B's weren't physical enough, but they pretty much were sepent from the physical game they played against the Penguins the night before.

  • B's game 11/11/10

I took the wife and kids to the Bruins/Blues game saturday night. It was awesome. The kids had a great time and were totally entertained by the game, the overall environment and the presentation. I would highly recommend it to any family.

Although the loss in a shoutout was rough, still had a blast as always!

  • what a shut out!

by matnjame on 10/30/10TD Garden - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

This was the first game we went to this season and it was a great one to start the season off with! The Milt Schmidt night was an honor to attend and it definately got the boys pumped of for the game. Definately started out a bit sloppy but pulled it together fast! Wish all games were this exciting!

  • by Anonymous on 10/30/10TD Garden - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

We had an amazing time. It was our first hockey game and we're hooked. Sooo much better than watching it on TV. You'll love this even if you don't like or know about hockey.
