Great show. Bono regaled us with stories of his youth and beyond, including how he met the guys and the birth of U2. At times funny and other times touching, it was a lovely peek into his life. Mixed in between were stripped down songs with fabulous accompaniment. The use of a few props (chairs and a table!) and two large screens showing line drawings made it complete.
He is the NUMBER ONE! No one like him..a showman,an artist, the best singer!
The performance was stunning. Small place, amazing sound, Bono was great and the full experience was magical.
Go see him worth every penny. It was amazing. His voice still great. I’m glad I went. Brought me back to my youth when I first saw him when U2 played next to the Intrepid. I hope I get to see him in Vegas.
Fabulous evening in the most gorgeous theatre in NYC. Bono was a captivating performer who gave his all. I loved every minute, and I will treasure memories of this perfect night for years. Can't say enough good things.
I mean, it's BONO....of course it was amazing. Very grateful I got to see him twice in such an intimate way (once at the Orpheum in LA, once at the Beacon in NY). Each one very special and unique.
Punters beware! Sound was awful. From the moment Bono began speaking just before taking the stage, all too often the music volume was louder than Bono's voice. Wanted to hear what he was saying? Buy the book, I guess. You'd think for a multi-show run like this they'd have the sound dialed in, but - nope. Only when he was singing. Sight lines were likewise terrible from the first balcony section - the front wall of the balcony is situated in a way that blocks the angle you need in order to see down to the front of the stage if you're not sitting in one of the first rows of that section. So you couldn't see any of the action taking place at the front of the stage, both when Bono performed/spoke there, and when he was at the pub set piece stage right -- probably 25% of the show. From the frontman of the one-time biggest band in the world with thousands of shows under his belt, you'd think his production team would have figured this out when "Mullen" over the sight lines to the front "Edge" of the stage, but maybe they didn't give "Adam." Great performances from him when you could see him and hear him, but otherwise, not worth the price of admission, despite "The Hype." Save your money on the overpriced tickets with bad sound and lousy sight lines and wait for the Disney Plus special or whatever so you can actually see and hear everything. Better yet, spend the money you would have spent on this one event by supporting multiple gigs from up-and-coming bands at a fraction of the cost. Hopefully this "Feedback" helps.
The show was amazing! Funny, entertaining, insightful and Bono sang songs throughout. Well worth the ticket price!
I can not say enough good things about this book tour event. Bono is so talented beyond his singing. His story telling is so enthralling and just the fact that it is a one man show, besides three people playing instruments, Bono was phenomenal. His singing of several of his songs was just fantastic. Even without the other band members Bono fill the theater with. his melodic singing. This is a sow to see !
My husband and I both really enjoyed the show that Bono put on. Great combo of singing, recitation, and acting. Was touching hearing him discuss his relationship with his Father. Beacon Theater was a perfect location. Beautiful theater, small enough to feel intimate.
A must experience for all Bono fans. In this unique event Bono guides you through his life’s struggles and how LOVE and FAITH shaped his beginnings, past and continues to guide his present. See Bono as you have never seen him before and be inspired.
The venue is amazing. The staff were great. Bono’s performance - phenomenal.
The missing link for my U2 experience. Now I will have a complet view os the U2 musics.
If you are a true U2/Bono fan, you will thoroughly enjoy his show. Realize that it is not a concert! He teased us with a few short versions of some of the hits, but the finale will blow you away!
Bono was inspirational and sensational. I’ve been to more than 15 U2 concerts and he had never sounded better . It’s a must see.
I grew up with U2. Filing an emotional void I could not articulate. I became aware of a bigger world due to the band’s passion projects. Hearing the back story in a format of a small theatre was mesmerizing. The final act of settti g the chair and sitting in the “Da” chair with the opera in his head. The boy can still sing as one of the real talents. There is a church I can believe in and it was the Beacon on Saturday night. For what it is worth my friend came from Shanghi to see Bono!
Great show! Well rehearsed. Sound was fantastic. Too bad they had to charge you for a merchandise bag. Just provide a paper bag-cmon now. Prices are high enough!
He can hold the stage with an exciting one man show. The best frontman ever! Laughter and tears in a show absolutely recommended for every real U2 fans!
I admire Bono and the good he has done for many people throughout the world. Turns it I don’t really enjoy hearing him dramatically emote about it. And the snippets of partial songs only seemed to frustrate. Next time I will save my money for the full rock and roll experience of U2
