Legendary sax man Boney James is a model of stamina and endurance, consistently wowing fans with his nonpareil virtuosity and herculean performances. BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Massachusetts-born James Oppenheim, a.k.a. Boney James, began playing clarinet at age eight, switching to saxophone two years later. In his teens, he was introduced to Motown and jazz saxophonist Grover Washington Jr., leading him to join a fusion band when his family moved him to Los Angeles at age 14. Following stints as a session player for acts like the Isley Brothers and Teena Marie and a featured role playing in Morris Day's band, James released his solo debut album Trust in 1992. Since then, he has released more than a dozen albums, selling more than three million records worldwide and earning a number of accolades including a Soul Train Award and two NAACP Image Awards. Back on the road, Â he'll draw from his decade-spanning catalog to deliver fans an unforgettable night of virtuoso sax playing.

Watching and listening from the 11th row at the Chandler (AZ) pavilion, has gotta be the best of all. It's not just the set list of great hits, it is truly the Style and Grace with which he performs. Add to that, 4 additional musicians that are stars in their own right, and you have the perfect fusion of incredible jazz sounds and experiences. If you like quality music, I don't care what kind, this performer is a true "can't miss"! Totally worth whatever it costs. Go. You'll be so glad you did!!

Iâve seen him at the Aronoff Center but last night was up close & personal the band engaged like family & then he played Butter I just closed my eyes & felt every note! Câmon back Boney J for some more Cincy Love!

Along with him was an extremely talented guitar player and drummer whose solos brought down the house. Boneyâs gracious demeanor comes through in his music. A treat for my soul, thanks Boney!!

What can I, say about Jeanette Harris-1st time seeing her and this young lady blew me away, she got it going on. Well, one of my all time favorite, the Prince himself, Will Downing, I, have followed him from day one, I was treated to a surprise birthday present to see Will Downing at the Valley Forge Music Center, had front row seats, he blew me away, since than, I do not missed him, whenever he's in the area. Now let's talk about, , Boney James, was my first exposures to Jazz, I, knew nothing about jazz in my 20's but, Boney James is the reason, I'm in awe with this beautiful music. I, take my hat off to the band that... backup Boney, wow, wow, wow. that Drummer and Guitarist, blew the ROOF, DOORS AND HINGERS OF the darn building. What a show. Can't wait for the next show.
