About

BOMBAY BICYCLE CLUB IN CONCERT:

British indie rockers Bombay Bicycle Club had no idea they were going to last when they named themselves after an Indian restaurant chain in 2005. Nine years later, the band released their fourth studio album, 2014's So Long, See You Tomorrow — a merciful end to the three-year waiting period their fans have had to endure since 2011's A Different Kind of Fix. Following a home turf British tour in early 2014, the band will treat North American fans to their intricately layered live show, including a highly anticipated appearance at Coachella.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Fronted by Jack Steadman on vocals, the members of Bombay Bicycle Club began playing music together at age 15, enjoying several incarnations before eventually naming themselves Bombay Bicycle Club. The band scored an upset in 2006, beating out hometown favorites The Holloways to win Virgin Mobile's "Road to V" battle of the band's competition, earning two victory sets at the high-profile V Festival. The band's 2009 debut LP I Had the Blues But I Shook Them Loose was a hit in the UK, scoring them NME's Best New Band award in 2010 —an honor for which they beat out Mumford & Sons. With follow-ups Flaws (2010) and A Different Kind of Fix (2011), Bombay Bicycle Club cemented their place as one of Britain's brightest young talents.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"I was so impressed by BBC! They sounded perfect live. Just like the album. They put on such a great show and gave it their all."

"This band played perfectly and were obviously having fun while performing. Great energy and sound."

"They came ready to rock - and definitely amused both newcomers and seasoned fans alike. Their setlist was stacked with old favorites as well as two new songs and the mix kept the show moving along with a steady rhythm."

    Bombay Bicycle Club

    by MAD4 on 8/1/12Royale Boston - Boston

This is the second time I have seen this band perform live. Literally the two best shows I have ever been to, without question. So much energy, so much fun. The Royale was a great venue to see them play. The sound was great, there were a good amount of people, most of whom were pretty into the show, and the atmosphere was just awesome. I would highly recommend this venue, this band, and definitely this band at this venue.

I Can't Believe That It's Always Like This

by Giantess on 7/31/12Royale Boston - Boston

This is the third time I've seen Bombay Bicycle Club and each show has been amazing! They played songs from each of their albums, which are very different, and even played one or their new songs "Carry Me." Everyone in the crowd had a great time, which I think is helped in part by the fact that they have so much fun performing (ex. Jamie and Ed do a mini dance routine during Ivy & Gold). Bottom line I would recommend seeing BBC!

    I want to go again!

by Anonymous on 7/31/12Royale Boston - Boston

It was my first time seeing them live and I was not disappointed! I love how Jack smiles while he's singing, and that you can see him watching the audience enjoy the songs just as much as he's enjoying performing. Great energy through the whole performance!

by Socodeb on 7/30/12Royale Boston - Boston

The guys were brilliant and the venue was fab! Gorgeous little place...quirky and intimate! Loved the way the band mingled with fans after the gig too giving it a personal touch. Great way to remember our city break.

BBC was incredible! They have to come back again, that was a concert I'll literally never forget. It was fun and amazing, and BBC & Plants and Animals were so great. The Royale was a great venue, and there's nothing like it.

a heavier, harder, more rockin' kind of fix!

by biggerniche on 3/7/12Bowery Ballroom - NEW YORK

top shelf show from beginning to end, but be advised: if you're going for the folkiness of their earlier material or the pop-ish agreeability of the last album you might be...overwhelmed. they have loads of energy and go full tilt the whole show; expect a set consisting mainly of a harder/edgier version of 'fix' plus a few older favorites thrown in for good measure, with the guitars and beats turned way up, be prepared to dance all night long, and you will have an amazing time.

Amazing Set! Blew through their catalog of songs. Band was so tight together, and the vocals were spot on! Can't wait to see again!

    Bombay was SO GOOD!!!!

by EmKap on 3/5/12Music Hall of Williamsburg - Brooklyn

I had seen them before at a different venue (Terminal 5). The Music Hall of Williamsburg was smaller and more intimate, and Bombay sounded better. Also, one of their openers, Lucy Rose, was really good. I would definitely recommend checking her out.

    I would see them again

    by Jrock1109 on 3/2/12The Basement - Columbus

I really enjoyed Bombay and the second band who did a few Steally Dan covers. BBC was very mellow, but I expected it to be.

    Great Show, bad venue...

by TyBin on 3/2/12The Basement - Columbus

The Bombay Bicycle Club was way better than I could have imagined. They were really into their show. They came back and played two more songs. Just awesome. The venue (The Basement) was awful. The sound was bad along with the stage setup. Hopefully, Bombay's next stint through the states will involve a different venue should they play in Columbus again.

Bombay played an amazing show and Lucy Rose opened it very nicely. But the second opening act was not something to be remembered, although I might have given them more thought if it hadn't already been 1.75 hours since doors opened...much too long of an opening wait!
