Wonderful show. Never really knew much about this group. Went with a friend, now I am a fan for life. They were so tight! Loved the show.
This was one of several BoDeans shows I've see, and it was merely middle of the road. It had an uninspired set list, although it contained all of the crowd favorites. A new tune or two was also tossed in. Kurt is not the most dynamic guy to begin with, and he (and the band) started very slowly, but warmed up well after three or four songs. My biggest disappointment of the night was that Kenny Arnoff was not present. The replacement drummer was good, but certainly no Kenny. All in all, a fun night with a solid performance. I just don't see the band ever being the same without Sam.
I love this band and was so happy to get to see them at Talking Stick's Showroom. Next time they return I will do it all over again. Disappointed they didn't come out afterwards and visit with their fans and sign autographs.
Music was good but acustics was bad, bad, bad. Couldn't hardly understand a word they were singing. This is one of my boyfriend's favorite groups and this was a Christmas present. Very disappointing.
The band was great. Really tight. Although this configuration of the band hasn't been together that long, you would think they had been together for years. They definitely "clicked." My only issue was the sound quality. The bass seemed way too heavy and it was hard to hear the words to the songs. I was talking to others in the bathroom after the concert and they were complaining about the same thing. Not the band's fault. The audio engineers need to work on this.
My husband and I haven't seen the BoDeans live since Earth Day 1989 in Chicago. They sounded great! Can't wait for them to come back.
I've been a big fan of the BoDeans since the 80's so I was looking forward to seeing them and listening to their music. It brought back lots of great memories. The only complaint I have is the booth seating at this venue. Instead of being raised up a little to see over the floor crowd, it was at the same level as the last row of chairs on the floor and it was difficult to see over them.
Great show. Nostalgic! 4 of 5 stars. Waited 30 years to see them again and they didn't disappoint.
Great show, lots of energy. Love to see people get up and dance in a venue.
They played all their greats and fun concert. Band seems to be as good as always.
Amazing venue and show! We will be back!! BoDeans had another great performance and we really liked the intimate feel of the Northern Lights Casino. We will definitely see another show here!
Nice theater, all good seats. Music good, but way to loud for venue. Difficult to hear lyrics.
The Bodeans are very personable to their fans as they perform. They are easy to watch. The drummer is outstanding. He plays non-stop for over an hour without missing a beat. Our seating was in the first row of booths in the theater and had excellent view of the band. Unfortunately, the sound system was so loud our entire booth seating was vibrating through out the 2hr. show. Not great and did distract from enjoying their great music!
Everything I expected. Went longer than I expected, with great songs and small stories explaining every song. Great way to ring in the New Year!
Too LOUD! Could not understand the lyrics. We moved around to see if the acoustics were any better, but no change.
The Bodeans put on an absolutely amazing show on Tuesday night! If I didn't have plans for New Years Eve, I would've seen their show the next night as well. The singer's voice is as great as it ever was (also appreciated his stories as lead-ins to each of the songs) and the drummer was kick ass! The band really knows how to engage the audience and I never had so much fun at a show!!! I hope they play again in the future. The intimacy of the Northern Lights Theater also made it memorable. We had 2nd row seats!
When was the last time you can have a BOOTLE of beer or mixed drink and enjoy a great concert. 5 Stars to Genesse Theater. I would have rated the whole night a 5 star reveiw if the Bodeans were allowed to play past 10 pm that night. They seemed to be rushing through the show a bit to give you the show you would expect from them but only one encore was allowed due to going 4 minutes over the 10 pm deadline. 6 Stars to the Bodeans for playing non-stop music to entertain the crowd. Thanks! We will return again and glad we gave this venue a try.
The band was great even without Sam. All the band members were just great and added to the performance. We really liked the table seating and service at Northern Lights Theater. Not being gamblers, we didn't realize smoking was allowed in the casino and serivce in the FirePit was the worst ever! But that did NOT take away from the fabulous show.
The Bo Deans were good. A good mix of old and new music. Sound levels on the newer tunes need so work as the instruments drowned the vocals
Bodeans played with a lot of energy and really seemed to enjoy performing
