Bobby's performance was brilliant - a vocal tour de force. I loved how he got the audience to participate, how he was able to get people to sing beautifully even though they didn't know the words or the tune before they got on stage. It was so much fun watching the performance.
Having seen Bobby McFerrin 4 times previously I had high expectations. This was the first time to see him "solo" and I was curious how he would sustain my enthusiasm for 90 minutes. His secret - the audience. He collaborated with audience members on 6 pieces - 2 dance, 2 vocal, 1 chorale and one entire audience (Ave Maria) plus plenty of call and response. Bobby is a music master - fearless, playful and ready to improvise with everybody. His audience is full of musicians/improvisers who were up for the opportunity. Bassist Jeff Carney's nimble fingers and adventuresome spirit was also a delight. For the encore Bobby took audience questions and requests. If you're thinking of going, I'm here to tell you you'll be glad you did!
Bobby McFerrin's performance completely enthralled us and the rest of his audience with the sheer virtuosity and range of his voice and the originality of his works. The clarity and simplicity of his presentation was almost meditative and provided the perfect backdrop for his thrilling vocals. Clean stage, subtle lighting, one accompanist on upright Bass for some pieces, and an audience so rapt that there was total silence on the audience side of the stage. That is, until he engaged the crowd as participants.... FUN! His gift as a teacher was evident as he called on the audience to join in innovative numbers, and also called up volunteers for interpretive dance, duets, and a full-on four part chorus! He was warm, funny, fully engaging and definitely left us wanting more! He's a mature artist... original, master of his craft, and generous with his talent. Wonderful!!
This concert was one of the best concerts that I have ever attended. It was 100% audience participation and the audience participants were incredible as well. I'm so glad that I attended this event!
One of the best concerts I've been to in a v ery long time. He involved the auidence and did not try and sell cds.

my husband and I loved his concert - so much fun! My husband and I are seniors 65+ and we were in line with students who told us how much we would enjoy the concert as they had been before, and they were so right. Sometimes my husband falls asleep in concerts, he not only was awake but enjoyed every minute of it...

Bobby Mcferrin paired with the Berklee Students was such an amazing event. I was mesmerized by all the different music styles and ablilities of everyone involved. This was my 3rd Bobby Mcferrin Concert and I am totally going to make it a point to try to get to see him at least once a year. His music and who he is just simply makes me Happy. Good Times.
Bobby McFerrin is a music guru! Unbelievably entertaining and creative, this event was very unique in comparison to other typical concerts. Improvising with some of Berklee's best singers, Bobby highlighted many of the world's musical stylings. It was an edge-of-your-seat, laughing and smiling good time!
Many people recall his hit song "Don't worry be happy" but there is so much more to this artist's talent and repitoire. Bobby has a 4 octave range! He is very exciting to watch. The music was extremely imaginative. He is a great voice teacher! The chorus was a highly talented group of Berklee Music students. It was not to be missed!
We sat 3 seats from the stage and it was incredible. Bobby McFerrin was funny, cordial, and got the crowd involved, which we really enjoyed! The only problem was: it was WAY too short!! We could have stayed much longer. Can't wait to see him again.
The show was like having a great time with a friend. The venue was perfect under 500 people sitting in a cafe style atmosphere. Bobby McFerrrin invited audience participation so we all felt part of the experience. This was the second time I brought my daughter to hear Bobby McFerrin. And I promised to take her again when he comes to town. Comfort, Love & Joy was the vibe of the room.
I have never seen him live, always on Utube and on TV, but I am so glad I went at the insistance of my son, who wanted Bobby McFerrin tickets for his birthday. He missed a high school Wind Essemble practice to attend. Bobby McFerrins vocal range, his interacting with the audience, and his smile said it all. My wife and 2 sons went - all of them musicians, were energized by Bobby performance. We loved every minute from the first scat type song to the Wizard of Oz ending
I never thought I'd watch a man onstage by himself with no instruments for two hours and be intrigued, on the edge of my seat and amazed until this concert. What a fantastic night, venue, crowd and most important, performance. Bobby McFerrin will keep your jaw dropped.
I can't find words to describe how gifted and brilliant this man is. Everything was so good it was unreal.
Not only does he have amazing vocal talent - he is incredibly creative, engaging, and fun ny. Go see him when he's in town. Even if you don't know anything about the technicalities of singing, you will have a memorable entertainment experience.
Bobby McFerrin is truly and an amazing individual & musician. It was an honor to be in his presence and be exposed to the full spectrum of talent he purveys. Bobby's showmanship and skills transcend global culture. As a result he appeals to everyone, regardless of musical background or opinion. I will treasure this experience for the rest of my life! P.S.-Can't wait to hear the new album - "VOCAbuLarieS"
Bobby McFerrin is absolutely the best entertainer ever. That's all that there is to it. I could watch and interact with Bobby for hours without ever noticing how much time is going by. He is that good.
