BLUE RODEO IN CONCERT:

Canadian roots rock mainstay Blue Rodeo has been sending fans "Head Over Heels" with their country-tinged sound and lighters-in-the-air concerts for more than three decades. The group has won a dozen Juno Awards in their home country, and they've earned a global fanbase with their approachable sound and unforgettable live performances. They've been called one of Canada's best live bands, and it's easy to see why as co-vocalists Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor tag team anthemic favorites like "Lost Together" and "5 Days in May". Fans looking to catch up with with these veteran rockers won't want to miss them any time they perform favorites from their decade-spanning discography on tour.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Blue Rodeo was formed in the early '80s by Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor, two Toronto high school buddies who started playing music together after graduating. Following a stint in New York they returned to Canada and put together a band, and in 1985 Blue Rodeo played their first show at The Rivoli in Toronto. After two years of performing and honing their sound, the group released their 1987 debut album Outskirts to a Top 20 spot on the Canadian charts. A steady string of popular singles and albums followed in the late '80s and '90s, including country chart-toppers like "Try" and "Til I Am Myself Again". Their success continued in the '00s with no less than five Top 10 albums on the Canadian Albums Chart and a star on Canada's Walk of Fame. Over the course of 13 albums Blue Rodeo has won a whopping 12 Juno Awards, and they continue to impress with their time-honored sound and undeniable onstage chemistry every time they tour.

    Always loved Blue Rodeo but…

by Char on 10/24/23Avenir Centre - Moncton

Still enjoyable even though I thought the venue was to large to be enjoyed to the fullest also should have had screens

    Love Blue Rodeo

by Rosie on 10/18/23Leon's Centre - Kingston

I love Blue Rodeo! They put on an incredible show as always… so nice to hear little stories throughout the show about the writing and recording of the album. We had floor seats at the Leon’s Centre in Kingston and unfortunately they were VERY tight. I’m a petite woman and I can’t imagine how it might have felt if I was a larger person. There was no avoiding my (older stern) neighbour’s shoulder. He seemed very irritated with me being in his space but there was no room for me to give him any space. I wish I could have been up to dance, would be nice to have a standing room/general admission option. I always feel for the band when they have to perform to that kind of quiet/serious/dry crowd, it must be a little less than fun and motivating. Will always love going to see Blue Rodeo but I think I prefer an outdoor show where I can relax and boogie!

    Awesome

The band came out with harmonica and started up the crowd. The stories, music and crowd was awesome.

    Blue Rodeo

    by Eddy77 on 10/17/23Leon's Centre - Kingston

Venue was great, first time seeing Blue Rodeo live. Venue was lined up at showtime- their ticket readers to scan from Apple wallet didn’t seem to be working properly causing delays - barcode reader from ticketmaster worked ok once digging out the email. Show started off very slowly but ended with a bang. Would have rather seen someone else open for Blue Rodeo and have them play for a shorter duration playing hit after hit. Very much felt like the first half of the show was filler

    Words cannot express!!!!

by Mugsy Mulligan on 10/17/23FirstOntario Concert Hall - Hamilton

I danced, sang, smiled and cried. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Reminded me of many memories listening to their music. Blue Rodeo always gives an incredible performance of entertainment and story telling that reminds you exactly what music, life and love is all about. I break down at TRY and LOST TOGETHER as it brings me back to a time when I still had my parents and how life is so special and fragile. Thanks to Blue Rodeo for remaining true to the music and storytelling of life. My 5th time seeing them and I will not stop because it is utterly a very special experience. I used to serve Jim Cuddy at the Dundurn LCBO and he always made me smile with his kind nature and humble demeanor, and he looked great standing in the vintage section...in his Levis...LoL !!

    Blue Rodeo is fantastic!

by Blue Rodeo is fantastic! on 10/10/23OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino - Niagara Falls

Attended the Friday night concert at Fallsview… October 6, just ahead of Thanksgiving. My oldest son and his wife, along with two neighbours made up our group. We had an amazing time… The band is so true to their music, old-school voices, that do not need a sound room to fix them… They sound just like their records. They are personable and interacted with the audience. Would go back and see them anytime.

    Fabulous Show

by Diana on 10/9/23OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino - Niagara Falls

Blue Rodeo NEVER disappoints. Have seen them several times BUT the OLG Avalon Theatre in Niagara was outstanding! This venue is large, yet intimate when you consider the large, crystal clear screens that make you feel like you are on stage with the band. The acoustics were sensational. I was singing loud and could not even hear myself! Blue Rodeo's music is a part of my growth into adulthood and when I hear their music it takes me back to days I never thought would pass so quickly.

    Enjoyable

by Mikeb on 10/9/23OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino - Niagara Falls

Sound quality was excellent. Went to the concert Old Dominion in the same place a few weeks back. I had to wear earplugs because it was so loud that it hurt my ears. I didn’t need earplugs for this concert the experience of getting to the concert getting to my seat, and leaving to go home was flawless, much better than going to a Blue Jays game which is stressful .👍

    Fantastic Show but Terrible Seats

by AM on 10/9/23OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino - Niagara Falls

Blue Rodeo never disappoints. A fantastic show as usual. However, our seats were terrible. We were in Section C, Row G and could see the full stage. It was our first time to this venue. Other than that, great event.

    Blue Rodeo Never disappoints

by Beth on 9/16/23Budweiser Stage - Toronto

Had a great night at Budweiser Stage seeing Blue Rodeo! They are so generous with their fans and it’s always such a nice feeling when the audience all sings together! Creates a wonderful sense of community! Highlights for me was Greg singing Dark Angel and when all the confetti exploded into the air during Hasn’t hit me yet! I will also be attending the Five Days in May night in Niagara! Looking forward to it guys! At some point in my life I hope to get a picture with them before they end their live performances if anyone has a connection 😊

    Fantastic!

    by Galatea0426 on 8/31/23

Blue Rodeo never disappoints, but this show took it to the next level. The addition of the female singer ( whose name I could not hear and whom I cannot find any mention of online) was fabulous. She really added another layer to an already fantastic group of musicians. The band was energetic and sounded great! Until next year.

I have watched this band put on great shows for 32 years and never disappointed. This one was easily their very best. The incredible backdrops and effects, the energy and the flawless execution of every song. Privileged to have been there.
