Blue Öyster Cult is an American rock band formed in New York in 1967. The group is well known for three songs: The 1976 single "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" from the album Agents of Fortune, the 1981 single "Burnin' for You" from the album Fire of Unknown Origin, and "Godzilla" (1977) from Spectres . The band is a pioneer in heavy metal music both for its hard-edged musical assault and its use of sci-fi and occult imagery.

what a great trip down memory lane-although if that would have been my first time it still would have been great!!!
I first saw BOC in 1981 at a big arena concert. The totally rocked then and they totally rock now. B.B. King's Blues Club is a great place for a concert, it's small enough that every seat is a good one and you can relax with dinner and a few cocktails during the show. BOC continues to play lots of their great songs and the fact that Buck and and Eric have been playing together for 40 years definitely shows.
They were tight, great sounding and played all their hits. New addition Rudy Sarzo rocks on the bass and Buck Dharma hasn't lost a step.
Saw them in Oct, and years ago, they were better then the last time and am looking forward to seeing them again. I took people who did not know their music and they are now fans.
BOC hit the gas right from the start and never slowed down. They are no doubt the tightest band I have ever seen, and Buck Dharma's was soloing his a** off as though he had something to prove. BOC hit all the big tunes while still digging deep, for example playing one track for the first time in 30 years. Oh, and did I mention Rudy Sarzo of Ozzy's Randy Rhodes era fame is playing bass for them? How awesome is that? I've seen many big rock acts (Sabbath, Whitesnake, Judas Priest, etc.) but BOC blew them all away. I have been converted into a hardcore fan and can't wait to see them again.
Really fun night--brought back good memories of jamming with boc
It was amazing. Glad to see these guys still got it.
I brought my girlfriend along to this, and it completely brought her over to the side of rock. The band hasnt lost a bit of their spark, and are just as incredible as they always have been. The setting was even better; a lounge-like atmosphere with tables spaced comfortably around the floor, and we ended up at a table directly next to a low ledge from the upper level, with an amazing view of the stage (though the same could be said about pretty much any other table). The service was polite and friendly, as were the people we were sitting near. Basically, an unforgettable show.
I stayed engaged in the music through to the end! Technically, musically, in every way superb. This performance was stellar.
They still sound great, and played lost classics like 'this ain't the summer of love' and 'mirrors'. i only wish they had played 'E.T.I.' and 'astronomy'-though that is a really long song. highly recommend, i hope they come back again.
It was an unforgettable experience with my husband and my kids. It was much better than we expected. We lived the experience even few days after the show. The food in the club was pretty expensive and not so good.
I saw BOC years ago when they were playing with Angel and Rush was opening for them in Binghamton, NY. They were great then and they still rock. The Chameleon Club is a smaller, more intimate place than where I saw them before and it really added to being able to have a great experience watching them.
I have seen BOC in concert seven times between July 2008 and June 2009. The 5 June 2009 show at the Chameleon Club in Lancaster was amazing. Buck Dharma has given me three guitar picks and I will be a fan of his forever.
the show was less(way less) than stellar. they were dull. it was uninspired. i was disappointed. i feel like my 50 dollars were/was molested.
Very fun concert. Bands were eager to please the audience. Played everyone's favorites
This was my 14 year old son's 1st concert and he loved it. He just started up a band and Godzilla was one of the songs they intend to learn. We really loved the crazy guy with no shirt and black suspenders who was dancing in the crowd all night long!
This was the smallest show that I had ever seen for the DTE / Pine Knob venue. Parking was great, better than the VIP parking. I think that everone at the show could have parked there. Both BOC and Rainbow didn't care that the house was so empty. They still ROCK! even my teenage son was taken back by both bands who have been around since way before he was born. I almost wish that all the shows could have crowds this small, but I know that it is a sign of the hard times in Michigan. I hope we can bring it back.
Blue Oyster Cult were awesome! They continue to be an amazing band to see live. I have seen them many times and each time they do not disapoint, wether playing their many hits or playing fan favorites from their large back catalog. One note however: D.T.E. was to large a venue perhaps for them to be playing, the crowd was very small, in fact it was the smallest crowd I have ever seen at D.T.E.. It was not suprising considering the Economy, it was a Wednsday, and the fact that Blue Oyster Cult are not exactly the commercial Juggernaut they were in the late 70's and early 80's, and that they have played the Detroit area in the past almost every Year. It didnt seem to phase the small but enegentic crowd though, all seemed to have a good time, I now I sure did. If you havent had the chance to see them live yet, wether it's in a small Club or large Arena or Ampitheater, I highly recommend you do. B.O.C. on tour forever....I hope!
It doesn't matter your age. These guys can jam and that they did. There was a few songs I wished they would have played instead of the really old stuff. It seems a concert is best for older artists when they play their greater hits. Overall we had a good time.
OOOOOOHHHHH MY GOD THIS SHOW WAS GREAT!!!!!! The staff is so nice!!!
