    Fun but lagging

by Patrick on 4/25/22Charles Playhouse - Boston

I saw Blue Man Group in NYC 5-10 years ago and remember it being nothing but fun from beginning to end and fast paced. Last week in Boston the show was fun again but there were too many periods of time where nothing was happening. The Blue Men for example would come out into the audience to search for people to bring on stage for a "bit." Their blank expressions were funny for a few secs but after a few mins of them just stalking around it became tedious. Same with moments on stage when they would just stand there and look at each other for long periods of time. We enjoyed the show overall with some really hilarious moments, and great music; the timing just needs to be tightened up. It felt like there should have been more "bits" in the show but they couldn't do them for some reason (Covid?) so they ate up time to make up for it.

Not like it used to be

by Wizzy on 4/25/22Briar Street Theatre - Chicago

I took my mother for the first time and let me say it was a good experience for her but it was not how it used to be. They did not have sales at all. You had to scan some bar code & it wasnt decorated how it used to be. Once we got in they didnt throw the balls and did not use as much paint as they usually do. Then after we did not even get to take pictures with them or have a meet and greet. We were just pushed out right after the event. For the price paid it wasnt worth 4 or 5 stars. Also, in Chicago you have to wear a mask and present your COVID Card. They are losing out on customers but still want there prices high per ticket.

    Great atmosphere

by Monik8314 on 4/22/22Astor Place Theatre - New York

The three men make sure you dont disconnect on the show. Available for all public as kids will have a laugh. I dont recommend sitting at the back of astor theatre as the view is very limitated. Difficult to follow instructions and participate with them on their show. Great band

    Beware the Covid police

by Jerry on 4/19/22Briar Street Theatre - Chicago

So while there is no mask mandate in Chicago, BMG has taken it upon themselves to stand over everyone with “Masks Up” signs during the entire performance… As for the show, Blue Man Group needs some new gags… feels very dated …lot of drum banging and other tired bits

A lot of fun, but not a spectacle like the Vegas version

by Mark on 4/19/22Astor Place Theatre - New York

Having seen the Vegas Blueman Group show and the national tour, I was a bit shocked at how small the NYC theater is. They do many of the same bits as the Vegas show, but it's all squeezed into a very small space. In some ways it was more fun because you are much closer to the action and it feels more intimate. As a fan, that was cool. But in other ways the Blueman's creativity was clearly limited and restrained by the size of the space. "Endless column" and the insanity of all the paper at the end of the show was pretty underwhelming compared to the Vegas show. But we still had fun. I recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen Blueman. But if you've seen the Vegas show be prepared that you might be disappointed because it's just not the same.

Do not waste your time or money

by Philip Jenkins on 4/19/22Briar Street Theatre - Chicago

This show was, hands down, the worst thing I have ever seen. Laughed once in over 90 minutes. And it was not even part of the show! The blue men are so boring and repetitive. What the f was the point of any of this? They were not the least bit skilled, entertaining, provocative or funny. In fact we were so bored we nearly walked out.

    Funny and extraordinary

by Jose Mares on 4/19/22Briar Street Theatre - Chicago

I really enjoyed the show. I knew about the blue man group in Tiny Desk and I fall in love with their music and their performance. Then I knew they have shows in Chicago and I didn't hesitate to buy the tickets. It was very funny, and the music has awesome! I ended buying one of their shirts. I extremely recommend this show!

Wish someone told me not to go!

by Philip Jenkins on 4/18/22Briar Street Theatre - Chicago

Three of us found this to be the worst thing we’ve ever seen. Absolutely tedious when they would “pick someone from the audience” it took forever. I think we laughed once in 90+ minutes. They brought a woman onstage, dressed her in rain gear, and sprayed over/around her to make a painting? No skills there. Repetitive and jerky movements of their heads (toward each other). Not entertaining at all. The band in the background had some talent. A complete waste of $400 and our time.

    Unexpected excitement

by Mimi on 4/17/22Briar Street Theatre - Chicago

I couldn’t believe my eyes when I realized my 15 yo was enjoying the show! I had high hopes, but with teenagers you never know… I know for a fact he wouldn’t turn down a second invitation! Good job BMG!

    Incredible show!

by Janelle on 4/17/22Charles Playhouse - Boston

I brought my 10 year old to see Blue Man for a birthday celebration and it was a hit! Laughs throughout the show for her and her friend. Truly entertaining. They are so musically talented.

    Great for teens

by MCL on 4/17/22Briar Street Theatre - Chicago

It’s hard to entertain a group of teenagers, but this was a wonderful experience that was appreciated by my group of 13 students age 14 to 18. A few said that it was the best show they ever seen. Very impressed.

    Good experience

by Diane on 4/14/22Briar Street Theatre - Chicago

This was my first visit to Blue Man Group since 16 years ago in Las Vegas and my 3rd overall time seeing the show. I enjoyed the show very much and it had some minor changes over the years which was nice and kept the show fresh and like a new experience. I think making changes with new material and rotating some of the old stuff into the show keeps the show fresh and enjoyable.

    Intimate venue - great performance

by UK Bob on 4/14/22Astor Place Theatre - New York

Really enjoyed the Blue Man Group in NYC. Seen them around the world and this is the most intimate venue we had visited. Sound was amazing and the performance was tailored to the venue with less large screen activity and a small cast - but if you like Blue Man Group it was AWESOME.
