BLUE MAN GROUP AT THE LUXOR
Before Blue Man Group was astounding audiences in Las Vegas and beyond, the founding members were entertaining crowds in Manhattan's Lower East Side. By 1991, Chris Wink, Matt Goldman, and Phil Stanton had a full show at Astor Place Theatre. Blue Man Group's big break arrived in 2000 with their addition to the Las Vegas line-up at The Luxor. Internationally, Blue Man Group has had show runs in cities from Sydney to Vienna. In 2017, Blue Man Group was purchased by the circus-like show Cirque du Soleil to be expanded. The genius of the Blue Man Group has been rewarded with the Obie Award, Off-Broadway Alliance Award, and Drum! Magazine Readers Choice Award. Currently in residency in The Luxor Las Vegas, Blue Man Group also has shows in Boston, New York, Orlando, and Chicago.
ABOUT THE SHOW
Formed in 1991, The Blue Man Group has made the transition from a performance group to an iconic Las Vegas experience. In fact, it's one of the longest-running shows in Sin City. The Blue Man Group live puts on a multi-sensory show integrating percussion and instrumental music, vibrant neon lights, and a variety of tricks using props and water. The actors faces are painted in a signature blue paint, and their signature all-black outfits add to the drama. Let yourself escape into a world of magic as the artists integrate live rock music with slight of hand and use of unexpected props. The group has made its mark on pop culture, with references to the production appearing in storylines on shows from Arrested Development to Scrubs. The groups recordings include "The Complex" album from 2002 which features Dave Matthews and Gavin Rossdale, and "THREE," an instrumental album released in 2016.
Great interaction with the audience. Very entertaining and funny. All round fun family show. Good value for money.
Nothing new. Basic Schow. Really old place … look for other before this one …
The show was very nice and funny! We had a wonderful time! The theatre’s seats were not so spacious but plenty of rooms for the legs in the front. Only downside there should be an age limit for the kids, as much as it’s sad for parents to pass on the show, most of the kids below probably 8 or 9 are not able to sit quietly during such a spectacular show…making it a bit annoying for those around them.
This show is excellent. It is a great show for an entire family of all ages. The Blue Man Group are very interactive show with the audience. We were very close to the stage and could really see their facial expressions. They use unique items to create music. If you want to real experience, best seats are in the middle area. The side view is ok but you miss out on all the interactive parts of the show. It is very comedic and funny. Overall, it is worth the cost to see this show.
Went in to the show tired, but it was very invigorating and woke us up! Interesting and different. The players looked like they were having a great time. The only negative thing is, they should warn people that there are lots of strobe lights and loud sounds, so if anyone has seizure issues or sensitive ears, they should avoid this show.
My daughter and I loved it!! So much fun!! We are going again in July so my son can see it. They are so entertaining and innovative!! The drumming and skits are the best!! Loved it!!
The Blue Man Group combines sounds and facial expressions to create a memorable experience. Their energy throughout the performance was astounding. It was well choreographed. The Resort alarm went off in the middle of the show, but the guys just kept on performing.
We went to the Blue man group with an 11 year old child. We had seen snipers of the blue man group online and thought it looked ok. The show was fantastic, great encouragement of audience participation (cheering, chanting and dancing), they were great drummers/musicians and comedians. Overall would I see them again… Yes absolutely!!
I have long wanted to see BMG and they did not disappoint. The performers, the multimedia. and the creative instruments were all amazing. I loved that there was audience interaction from start to finish. At the beginning of the show via message board and then with the performers. I was in the second row from the stage and was given a poncho but I did not need it. The first row however did. I was a great show that I would love to see again!
The show was fun and entertaining. However, I expexted to see more playing on their pipe instruments. I think I counted maybe 3 or 4 songs in the 1.5 hour show where they played the instruments that made them who they are. The rest was antics interacting with the crowd (maybe some pounding on drums and some background loud music provided by their backup band).
First of all, be sure to get one pair of the ear plugs available free from the ushers. At times the beating of the drums can be very loud you can feel the beat in your chest. As far as the show goes, it was very creative and clever and funny. After 30 years of doing shows they are still one of the best to watch. They even involve the audience and make it an overall experience for everyone. The price is advertised as starting at $49 but with taxes and surcharges we paid $95 each ticket.

Is it a good show? Yes. However if you've seen the show before it's the same thing. I saw them perform while touring admit 10 years ago and it's the same exact show. I was excited to go but quickly became bored and wanted to leave. Now if you've never been, definitely check it out.
I expected better to be honest. The music was good, but the comedy skits were a little off. And a lot of wasted paper in the end number!
I used to watch the blue man group on pbs during their fundraiser seasons and man that was such a cool thing to see. But seeing them live in person and having them interact with the crowd and ad-lib based on audience reactions was priceless. They truly are gifted and the show is amazing! I will be seeing them again in the future!
I won’t spoil the show but both my friend and I thought it was fantastic! Funny, entertaining, and talented. I can see why they’ve had a show in Vegas for so long. A tip when booking seats. Try to stay towards the middle. The auditorium is not that big so you’ll be able to see just fine even from the back. It’s harder to see everything from the side so try to avoid the sides if possible. Also don’t sit front and center in the first row if you don’t want to get splashed.
Show was very entertaining. There is an element of humor that I didn’t recall from years past. I think I preferred the older version from about 20 years ago.
I took my husband and teen kids to see the show and they loved it!!! They laughed eith all their jokes and loved the music. I liked how they interacted with the audience, my only comment would be one particular joke that I found rather gross. But other than that I really truly liked it
Second time for me but first time for my sisters! We all loved the show and I would go a third time! Such talented people!
Of you are vacationing in family or with kids, this is the best show for you. The Blue Man Group are very talented. However, if you are an adult traveling alone or with other adults only, this might be a very long performance and you will be bored after a while.
