These guys were amazing live. The harmonies were right on the money!
I have been listening to Blitzen Trapper for years, and last night was my first experience seeing them live. They are without a doubt one of the best live bands I have seen in a long time. Amazing energy!!! They are a must see for any true music fan. They continue to put out great music with a unique sound. Blitzen Trapper thanks for rockin the Beachland last night, when you come back to Cleveland (hopefully soon) I will absolutely be there!!!
First time i saw them It was a great performance! Fur was amazing
Excellent live show! All band members were tremendous musicians who showed energy and interest in what they were doing. They sounded fantastic, and covered a good amount of past, present, and future material.
Blitzen Trapper was PHENOMENAL. As artists, they are incredibly talented and it's always cool to see a group with such a high level of skill and musicality perform live. I was so impressed with the fact that each member of the band played multiple instruments throughout the show with no diva tendencies, even when put on the tambourine! Not to mention, their harmonies were incredibly tight and never faltered. The lead singer, when he did a mini-set of solo pieces in the middle of the show... mind blowing; that boy can sing like none other. And, of course, as a folk junkie, you've got to love the harmonica! The stage personalities were great, the show was pretty much non-stop music, they had a great mix of new music and favorites from previous albums, and their high energy made the show that much better. Not to mention, ending a show on a Tuesday night with Sleepytime in the Western World was ever-so-appropriate. Over all, even though a big fan before, I was super impressed with their live performance. I will definitely be seeing them next time they're anywhere near me!
Blitzen Trapper just seemed like they were having the greatest time playing the show for all of us. And, their sound is so much bigger and grander than I expected. Quite enjoyable!
Blitzen Trapper was phenomenal at the Crystal Ballroom!!! Love the bouncy floors of the venue, and LOVED how the band continuously ROCKED HARD! The lead singer was such a trooper for the fans, performing virtually nonstop the duration of the show, even when the other band members took a break (which I'm sure they needed, not criticizing here!). Overall I was blown away by their great performance, lively & friendly demeanor, and overall fantastic showmanship.
Amazing band, amazing show, amazing venue, didn't like the divider down the middle of the room, but it kept the kiddies away from the booze.
The concert was so amazing. Honestly, I only knew their Furr album but even the songs I didn't know, I enjoyed every second of. While concerts like MGMT, some parts I was just there. But at Blitzen Trapper every moment was engaging. and all the band members were very enerjectic and i coudl tell they cared about the audience. i think they are underrated, definately should of been sold out. but they are a new band, but they will be very big someday.
Perhaps it was the hometown advantage, but these guys mastered the Crystal! Epic!
These guys were amazing live. They will definitely be playing bigger places soon.
This venue was really good, I knew Blitzen Trapper and was familiar with their work, but I didn't really know too much about the Moondoggies. Needless to say, I was impressed with the Moondoggies and Blitzen Trapper was really good.
The show was great! The venue was fantastic. Love the El Rey! These guys are even better live. The music is mixed a bit differently, so a noticable difference from the album.
This group is well worth the time and money to go see! Their vocals are terrific with harmonies interweaving with the guitars, piano and harmonica. The songs are well written and the music well played. Although there was a few equipment snafus, the band dealt with it with humor and good will. I would definitely go back to see them!
Eric Earley and his bandmates showered Webster Hall with sweet melodies and great energy. Early's musical talents were on vivid display as he moved gracefully from guitar to keyboards to harmonica, sometimes doing all three at the same time. Without trying too hard Early is able to make his songs evocative and whimsical. The band clearly is in sync and tight. The set spanned new and old stuff. Furr could have rocked a bit more but otherwise the show was fantastic.
They seemed so down to earth, fun, and talented. I loved being so close to them. I made eye contact with the blonde guitarist guy, and my heart melted. :)
I was hoping for a few more songs from Wild Mountain Nation, but I definitely enjoyed the show. I really enjoy their style, and loved the harmonica skills.
