    Blitzen Trapper Rocked it!

by SKCP on 7/18/12Birchmere - Alexandria

Wasn't sure how this show was going to turn out at first. I thought the small crowd might result in a low energy performance and then wondered where this show was going when Blitzen Trapper played Jimi Hendrix's "Hey Joe" for their second song of the night. However, I quickly found that my concerns were unfounded. These guys rocked the place! They played their popular acoustic/softer songs like "Furr", "Lady on the Water", etc., but the majority of their set list was the best of their rock, so a lot of their best songs from their "Furr" and "Goldwing" albums. The result was a rocking good time! These guys are really talented musicians and it was impressive to see them switch back and forth between their various instruments...guitar, synth, harmonica, and keyboard to name a few. It was definitely worth seeing these musicians!

    Unbelievably awesome live!

by Mmicht on 7/17/12Music Hall of Williamsburg - Brooklyn

I am so biased....I love Blitzen Trapper. I wanted to go to see them for the sake of seeing a band (something that I never do, in fact I dislike live shows) but I really love this band. Well the venue was excellent: kind ticket takers, kind bartenders, the lady selling the merch was super nice. The crowd was fine, not empty but not packed (thank goodness.) And the band- AMAZING- they were so into what they were playing, I felt like they were really enjoying themselves, not just doing a another show on the tour. The music sounded fantastic- I wish I could have a recording.

    Very talented band

by raygillette on 11/28/11Variey Playhouse - Atlanta

I am a huge fan of Blitzen Trappers folksy/acoustic music and wish they would have played more of it and less of their harder rock and roll. I will go see them again and if any other fans out there feel they way I do, please write reviews. It might improve their shows and make them a more successful band.

Blitzen Trapper and Dawes - fantastic performances

by Marnivan on 11/1/11The Opera House - Toronto

What a fantastic night! The venue - great as always... intimate with big sound... it doesn't get any better! Blitzen Trapper rocked it out and entertained the crowd with their full range of musical creativity ranging from country to rock and everything in between and beyond... And Dawes... well they were absolutely amazing as expected! What beautiful and fun vocal and musical arrangements they have created! Can't wait to see both of these bands again.

The Belle Brigade and Dawes both killed it!

by MrDJazz on 10/31/11Royale Boston - Boston

The Belle Brigade was a revelation. Loved their energy. They were obviously loving each other and their music reflected it. Absolutely infectious performance and can't wait to see and hear more from them. Dawes was simply fantastic. An amazing live performance. Wonderful performers all and they had the crowd seriously revved up. Can't wait to see them live again. Blitzen Trapper was a mixed bag. At times, they seemed bored and as is they were doing the audience a favor just by showing up. The crowd was clearly not as into their performance as they were with The Belle Brigade and Dawes. The songs from the most recent record (American Goldwing) came across better than their older catalogue. They seemed to be going through the motions on those older tunes and were playing over each other with little regard for the overall effect. I would have given 5 stars to The Belle Brigage and Dawes but Blitzen Trapper's performance was 3 at best and brought this down to a 4 in my opinion.

It was an awesome concert. The venue was pretty good except the pit area was on a raised platform which didn't make a lot of sense because if you weren't on it you couldn't see but other than that it was great.

    Blitzen Trapper rocked out!

by kcillit on 7/23/11Bluebird Theater - Denver

I expected the show to be cool and laid back but they really rocked out! Their amazing songwriting and use of multiple instruments really shone for their live set. They were funny and gracious and there was a satisfactory amount of cowbell!

    Killer show in Denver!

by cardiligence on 7/22/11Bluebird Theater - Denver

These guys put on a killer show. Great musicianship and great songwriting. Bluebird Theater is a small, intimate venue, so it was an extra treat to see them in this setting. Hope they continue to make Denver a regular stop on their tours.

    Everything I hoped for

by Btortor on 7/22/11Bluebird Theater - Denver

Fabulous show!!! I've been trying to see these guys for the last three years and it was better than I hoped for. The tempo on all of their songs, particularly Black River Killer, was sped up perfectly. I loved the show and the diversity of their playlist. Also, their new songs were much harder...totally dug it. Can't wait for new album.

    Good Stuff

by yuppppp on 11/8/10Paradise Rock Club - Boston

They were really good. Sounded just like their albums but then would jam out. His voice is pretty solid and the band is tight.

    Great Show!

by BigEohnson on 11/6/10Paradise Rock Club - Boston

These guys put on a great show! They mix some of the indie scene with what amounts to a great Dylan and 70's rock vibe. If you're a fan of My Morning Jacket you should definitely check these guys out!

As usual, Blitzen Trapper is one of the best.

by CurlyGrrrl on 10/18/10Granada - Lawrence

My 6th time seeing them and they were spectacular as usual. Truly talented and truly a pleasure to watch on stage (and talked to several band members after the show and they couldn't be a nicer bunch of guys).

I'd regularly miss work every Wednesday for BT

    by DET48051 on 8/6/10Magic Stick - Detroit

I probably disturbed some of the more reserved fans with my crazy front-crowd groupie behavior but I couldn't contain myself. Awesome live performance + BBQ and grilled corn? No better way enjoy a Wednesday in August.
