    Ritchie Blackmore ruined show

by MichaelAlexandra on 8/20/18Paramount - Huntington

Candice Night is a doll and I saw a show a year ago where she was in control and Blackmore shut up. Totally different experience at the Paramount in 2018 where he appeared drunk, was disrespectful to his wife and to the audience, It was embarrassing to be there. I would love to see Night perform again without this lout on stage.

Look, if you like Blackmore's Night,

by WhoseLineMan on 8/2/18Penn's Peak - Jim Thorpe

you''re going to love the show. Blackmore's Night has been on my bucket list ever since I discovered their Village Lanterne album three years ago. Their music reminds me of tavern music from medieval games which makes sense since the Candace describes the band as a medieval, renaissance, folk rock band. Just watching their music videos and their live performances, I knew that their shows were a lot of fun. I just never anticipated that they would come down to my small town in PA when they normally play in New York. The venue was super small but the stage and the building was really cute. My only complaint was that the seats were a bit too close together and I needed some leg room. And that I apparently sat in the wrong section as a bunch of people got up and danced on the right side of the stage while the left and the middle sat down the entire time and I couldn't navigate myself over there to join in with them without trampling over a dozen other people :( But regardless of my lack of dancing, I mostly sang along to the songs that I knew the lyrics to and gazed in wonder at the treasure of a woman known as Candace Night. She is uber talented playing so many odd trinkets and with the voice of an angel. But not only that, the band members in the back and the bassist in the front all dressed up and were talented musicians in their own right. Oh and it was Ritchie freaking Blackmore playing on the guitar, mandolin, and a whole bunch of instruments that I couldn't even tell you their names. It was a great show and I loved every minute of it that my legs didn't ache.

Took my daughter. She was falling asleep because it was a late show so I had to cut out early. I missed stuff but what I did see was awesome. I was just amazed to be with the living legend Blackmore in such close proximity. Very intimate show, he talks to crowd, makes jokes, etc and there was not a bad seat in the house. Hope to catch them again some day.

    Blackmore's night

by aventurella on 8/1/18The Wellmont Theater - Montclair

Went because I've always been a fan of Ritchie Blackmore. The sound was good and Candice night has a beautiful voice but the show didn't compare to when Ritchie was with Deep Purple. That being said I'm happy he's happy but enjoyed his work with Rainbow and Purple much better. I've seen Rainbow and Purple every time they played in states and loved every show. I will be going to PNC ARTS CENTER to see Deep Purple in September and know it will be great. The band is still tight as hell!!!!!

    Totally enjoyable concert

by TheBigWNJ on 8/1/18The Wellmont Theater - Montclair

This was my first Blackmore's Night concert and I was not disappointed. After listening to them for years, I was thrilled when I saw they were coming to the Wellmont Theater in Montclair. Getting seats in 8 rows from the stage was a dream. The group performed just as I hoped they would, and Richie Blackmore was amazing. The only bad point was the concert came to an end. I could have listened to them for hours. Hoping to see them next time around.

The band was amazing. The floor seats are very uncomfortable, they need better padding.

Ritchie is a true musician, when he decided to perform this style of music I was confident that it would be great. Needless to say, it was even better than expected. The band is incredible, and I hope they return to my area soon.

    Blackmore's Night

by Gammabear on 7/29/18Penn's Peak - Jim Thorpe

Blackmore's Night is my all time favorite Celtic Band. That show they put on, on July 26th was beyond fantastic !!! The tickets were a birthday gift from my husband which was on July 25th. Penn's Peak is an amazing place for an event, and having Blackmore's Night there was a great choice for entertainment. I do hope that they will be coming back to Penn's Peak. Our seat were great. We sat on the floor third row from the stage. Next time we are going to try to get center stage floor seats. Thanks for a fabulous show !!!!

    Blackmore Night was GREAT

by tbolt65 on 7/29/18Penn's Peak - Jim Thorpe

We had a great time at the Blackmore Night's concert at Penn's Peak. They played a variety of songs covering their 21 years together. Every song was a good song. (There are no bad Blackmore Night songs) Candice was stunning, as usual and I believe I may have seen Richie Blackmore smile. His playing was fantastic, as usual, too. The band and their performance was tight with no apparent mistakes. The only down side was the audience. I think many in attendance were not familiar with the Renaissance Rock style that Blackmore Night was going to play. I believe they were expecting a Rainbow or Deep Purple style concert. Candice was trying to get the audience involved in "Under a Violet Moon" and "Home Again" but many just sat there. Yes, Snoopy vs.The Red Baron was played at conclusion of the concert. I hope Blackmore Night comes back to Penn's Peak in the future. If they don't, I would only blame it on the crowd. Concert 5 Stars.!!!!!!...audience 2.5 stars

    Too much talk...not enough music

by WHinneey on 7/29/18Penn's Peak - Jim Thorpe

I love ther music, but this is my third concert and they do the same thing each time...she tells storiies and spends more time joking around with Richie (who has no mike so the banter can’t be heard anyway) than is reasonable. They play too few songs, ask for requests and then ignore the crowd. So I havent yet Heard them play their best! I don’t Need a drum solo for 10 minutes. People were leaving! . want to hear the music that they are famous for...they maybe played 10 songs, and spoke as long as they sang.

    Dreamy and spirited Blackmore’s Night

by Anearmiss on 7/29/18Penn's Peak - Jim Thorpe

First off, the venue is a delight. Perched high in the mountains with an unbeatable view that goes on forever, the concert hall, which only seats 1600, is lovely, with towering cathedral ceilings made of wood. The acoustics were amazing. The band was amazing. Technically brilliant and incredibly fun! They clearly love what they do and love sharing their time and talent with their fans. One of the best concerts I have ever attended. Such a treat to hear an accomplished legend like Ritchie Blackmore when he played a lengthy solo, and a charming surprise to witness the gifted talents of Candace Night and the backing band, all of whom had solos and contributed immensely to the sound and feel of the evening. Candace is a master at keeping an old, rambling soul like Blackmore on track, and she’s a delightful host with an amazing voice. Well worth the price!! Perfect setting for a great band.

Blackmore’s Night is a one of a kind experience!

by Turtlewatcher on 7/29/18Penn's Peak - Jim Thorpe

Some are disappointed that Ritchie Blackmore is Now playing Renaissance Rock, don’t be! Give it a chance and be pleasantly surprised. His wife and singer, Candice Night has a tremendous stage presence and beautiful voice. Remaining band members are wonderful musicians as well. Music is beautiful and uplifting with opportunities for audience participation. Penn’s Peak is a beautiful venue.

One of the best live acts I have ever seen

by Chuckmachi on 7/29/18Penn's Peak - Jim Thorpe

Blackmoore's Night music is unique to say the least. Every one of their concerts are filled with energy, excitement, humor and great interaction with the audience. Each member of this group displays talent in every aspect of their presence. The rapport they each have with one another adds to the enjoyment of the experience. Needless to say, the music is outstanding. Each members abilities compliments each and every other members gifts. Very entertaining. Performance to ticket price is the best I've seen.
