BLACK REBEL MOTORCYCLE CLUB RETURN TO AUSTRALIA SHORES
After visiting Australia for a series of sold out shows in 2013, LA three-piece Black Rebel Motorcycle Club have announced that they’ll once again return for a run of shows to showcase their much anticipated new album, expected in early 2018.
Presented by MJR Presents, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club will visit Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth where they’ll be performing a selection of new material as well as crowd favourites from the bands illustrious 19-year, seven album back catalogue, showing why they are one of the world’s most celebrated live bands.
‘Every time we've toured Australia something in some way has tried to kill me at one point or another, and always in new and somewhat inspired ways. So I have a great deal of respect for whatever cosmic forces are going on down there. It definitely keeps me on my toes though, which is all you really need to make rock'n'roll I guess. Two good toes and a reason to keep tappin them.'
-Robert Levon Been / BRMC
Since their debut release in 2001, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club have made a name for themselves on a global scale. By fusing together elements of the psych, space rock, noise-pop and classic rock and roll that weave themselves across five acclaimed studio albums, BRMC live shows have often been hailed as events rather than mere gigs; a dynamic showcase of dark, brooding rock mixed with an energetic show you can’t take your eyes off.
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club gave an absolutely fabulous performance!
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club always put on a great show and this was no different. They relied heavily on new music, as there were 7 or 8 new tracks played, but that was fine, because the new material is great and comes off even better in concert. They also sprinkled a heavy does of early tracks and favorites. So, nobody left disappointed. The highlights, for me, were Six Barrel Shotgun and Berlin. Opening band, Night beats were great too, but really need to cut back on the vocal reverb, especially between songs. Couldn't understand a word they were saying while talking to the audience.
Not hyperbole, you can go all your life without seeing one live show but if you have to go to one make it BRMC
Amazing rock experience!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ultra Cool Modern Rock Group which impressed the hell out of this jaded concert goer. They're both modern and retro at the same time and I love the slide guitar work. They are a most interesting group and their new album "Wrong Creatures" competes well with the fantastic "Beat the Devil's Tattoo" album. They just sound so damn good! Great musicians! Revolution created a great mood with the lighting and the atmosphere and sound was perfect. I saw the group "They might be Giants" last night and although it was fun and entertaining it was nowhere near as satisfying as this concert was. Couldn't help but compare. See this concert!
Awesome show... Black Rebels Motorcycle Club was BADASS!
The concert and venue was amazing. I highly recommend going to the Ritz Yebor, for an intimate concert experience, where you get up close to the bands.
I haven't been to this venue in over 4 years but it was just as I remember. The staff were professional, the bathrooms were clean, there wasn't a bad spot in the house to get a decent view of the band, the lounge was comfortable, the drinks were reasonably priced, and the sound was awesome.
They rocked the show as if it were their last day on earth. It was phenomenal and the crowd was great . I also thought the venue was really spacious . I'll never forget my first concert being this one
Great venue, good parking. BRMC is as good as ever. Good songs, great sound, though they only played an hour and fifteen minutes.
I've been wanting to see BRMC for years, and I've very glad I finally got to catch this unique and talented trio. They rock hard, but with a unique moody sound and versatility that was a pleasure to see live. They were, as one might expect from a band with as many years experience as they have, tight and professional. The sound quality was better for their set than for Death from Above (see comments below). The only disappointment was that they did not do an encore, for reasons that were not clear. The crowd certainly was enthusiastic in asking for one, but after two or three minutes, the lights just went up. Death from Above 1979 is a truly unique duo of bass and drums. They bring funk, punk, and a certain je ne sais quoi to a party, and this performance was no exception. The only negatives were a poor sound mix that obscured the lyrics, and the fact that the lead singer was visibly pained (nice black eye, dude) from a beatdown he took in Texas earlier in the tour. Still, a good band on record, and a great band live.
Let me preface my statements by saying I am a BIG BRMC fan. Having said that I must say it seems as though they phoned it in on this night. Compared to the two previous times I have seem them in recent years this show was not up to par. The sound was muddy, the show was short, no encore and it seemed as of they were just going through the motions. Death From Above 1979 were even worse. Sound was horrible and their music pretty much sucked. The real stars of this show was Deap Vally. They rocked. Their sound was clear, plenty of enthusiasm, an overall great experience. Hope to see them again.
Death From Above, BRMC, Deap Vally. If you were there you know what I mean... Unless you were on of those people in the front who just stood there expressionless.
I've been waiting to see them forever! It was like I picked the set list! The Masonic is a beautiful venue and has great sound.
BRMC plays great music but on the CDs sometimes it sounds like there is a muffler put on the music to take the edges off. Live you get the edges, the energy, and it is simply the best. This is what makes BRMC such a great band and why more people need to get out and hear them live.
Great venue, but the music was so loud we had to leave. Never had that problem at any other gig.
BRMC continues to deliver huge sounds and stunning live versions of their dark, brooding rock. Paired with Death From Above 1979, this was an exceptionally powerful show!
Great show but there's no reason why it has to be so loud. It's not necessary to have ringing ears for 3 days. I want to HEAR the music not go deaf.
BRMC are one of my favorite bands to see live. They played a lot of songs from their newest album Specter At The Feast but made sure to play at least 2 crowd favorites from their previous albums. Their presence onstage is pure rock n roll. I was transfixed the whole time on just watching them play. The lights and smoke just make the whole show surreal. I'm pretty sure they played for almost two hours because every time I thought they were playing their last song, they got handed their next guitar/bass. SOFA KING GOOD!!! I think I tried to claw my own heart out to throw it onstage.
Great sound, great music, great musicians... I love this band! The only downer was the constant bright white back lighting and white strobe lights. Couldn't see too much of the band for most of the show. Are they really, really shy or do they not like anyone taking photos? This was the most photo proof show I've ever seen.
